Borsalino Studios Reviews

Just back from a weeks stay in the lovely NIDRI,staying in the Borsalino Apartments. We found our accomodation excellent. Yes, there is a busy road running through Nidri, but once in bed we never heard a thing, except a distant cockerel in the morning! The apartments were spotless, linen changed at least three times, and cleaned everyday. The borsalino gardens are beautifully kept, and we were lucky enough to be on the ground floor, so sitting outside on the shady patio was great.The beds were really comfy, nice modern bathroom with shower/curtain, and very nicely decorated. We found we didnt need the air con and here is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, T.V. etc. we had a problem with the kettle, and it was replaced the next day. Its perfectly positioned to enjoy all the resorts ammenities and overall excellent value for money, and would return again any time.

Nidri in Lefkas was a much bigger and more commercialised resort than we had anticipated.

On the positive side It has a very pretty shingle beach with small Islands out in the bay and is backed by mountains . The waterfront where the boats tie up is also very pretty, and has lots of tevernas and bars overlooking this area .

The Negative of this resort is that it is built at either side of a very busy main road and with all of the pavements being taken up by shops displaying thier wares or tables and chairs, the padestrian is constantly competing with the lorries cars and motorbikes.

We stayed at the Borsalino studios which were Quite central and just set back from the main road, we had a ground floor apartment (5) which had a really nice terrace . The studios were excellent, well kept and spotless, we had our sheets and towels changed four times during our 2 week stay and the gardens were well tended and very colourful. The traffic noise from the road was not a problem but we did have the air conditioning running all night. Margartina the owner of the studios was very welcoming and friendly.

If we ever return to Nidri (when they build a bypass!!) I would be very happy to stay at the Borsalino. We tried many tavernas and restaurants and enjoyed them all but for good service and food the Il Sapore along the waterfront was the most memorable ( we ate there 3 times). The Christiana along the beach front is excellent for a lunch time salad.
