JULY 2008. This was a memorable holiday for us. Christina and her husband Spiros made us most welcome. In fact they became our friends. Their daughter Acrivoula and her husband Enzo who also played their part were also very friendly. The other members of staff were also brilliant.
We have been to many places in the Greek Islands and mainland and we have never met such genuinely friendly people, they are remarkable, our thanks to them.
A small, friendly hotel - immaculately kept with lovely gardens, spotless rooms and kind staff. Good pool and bar/restaurant. Good location for exloring the rest of the island.

Small resort used mainly by Greeks and Italians. Very low key with an old world charm.

We visited Christina's Studios on 15 July 2008 for 2 weeks and found Christina, Sprios and her family and staff a joy to be guests of. Christina's hospitality went beyond the limit, with home baked cakes and delicious home cooked lunches. The studios are located on the main road between Lekkas and Nidri, some traffic noise could be heard, our apartment was across the road from the swimming pool and pool bar and our next door neighbours, an old couple, waved to us every day. The people of Lekkas are extremely friendly and helpful, we met three ladies coming from the fields with bunches of oregano they had just picked. The beach bar is very good, nice and shady with a breeze off the sea.
would return again just for christinas cooking

Apartments were excellent, with the location outstanding. The Family were extremely friendly and 'on site'. The pool was clean and the gardens quiet and relaxing. For the electrical amongst you, the 'equipotential earth bonding' in the shower is interesting!. We hired a car locally for 2 weeks and covered the island. The best beaches were on the west side at the north of the island, with a nice one in Poros. Didn't rate Vassiliki beach much but all in all I liked the island and felt it was slightly less commercial than Kefalonia. Nikiana at first sight looks like a 'one horse' village but after a week we found we had grown into it and the restaurants were good. I especially liked the Italian.
The italains were arriving in droves in July, but it was still fairly quiet. Nidri was for us too busy.
I am 'picky', but I can honestly say, I would stay here again, and the local people were extremely friendly and helpful.
I have never used Sunvil before, but was more than happy with the company organisation and the Rep,who was helpful.
On the Car hire front, I booked on line, and the guy who delivered it to the apartment, was Hungarian and did not speak much english. For the 'newcomer' to car hire in Greece, he did not explain very well the 'insurance' extras, so I would advise the Eurocar hire guys in Nidri.
All in all an Excellent holiday.

Very basic accommodation. Air conditioning was 1 euro per hour. Exchange of travellers cheques only at the Hotel Konaki. Very low rate. Very few bars in resort. Best bar is Art Club run by Spiros whose family own the Hotel Polyenexus (not sure of spelling!). In our opinion, this would be the best place to stay as it is family run, very friendly and the rooms were kept to a very high standard compared to our accommodation.
After our meal every night we went to the Art Club for drinks, good music and good company.

flights from gatwick on time as ever with first choice.
arrived late on sunday evening and first impressions were that it was a little isolated.
next morning our thoughts were correct, abt 15 minute walk along busy road into ligia, but when you got there more than enough bars, bakery, etc just watch the walk
we ate at 5 of the local bars/tavernas and found the food quality to be poor in all of them, not making you ill just not very nice food, ie kleftico, and local dishes. they seem to have learnt from the spanish though and dish up chips at every oppurtunity. best food we had was at the end of the lane by our appt excellent greek salad and food was better than walking into the town
lovely beach 5 mins walk away (along that road)
accom - very very basic, just 2 rings, no toaster or microwave ! however, whilst basic very clean, rooms cleaned every day apart from one and towels / linen changed on thursday. our room was overlooking pool and sea which was lovely
whilst we were ther temp hit 42/3 degc, and the local mozzies bite like hell, between us we had some 30 bites !
pool area very nice overlooking the sea with usual bar food, beer etc - its a self service bar ! or honesty bar, where if the son or mother are not there you take what you want and pay later !
got a taxi into lefkas town only 8 euros each way and get the mother to order you the taxi and they will arrange a pick up time / place as well for your journey home as taxis are few and far between, some lovely bars / marina in lefkas town and we easily spent 6 hrs there shopping and eating and of course a beer or 2 !
all in all and value for money excellent, if you want to loose yourself for a week (wouldnt advise 2) then brill holiday

Lygia in Lefkas was just as the brochure said quiet and relaxing just what we wanted, The Christina apartments were excellent by Greek standards! Cleaned everday, clean towels every other day, even bedding changed and we only stayed the week. Also which never have before in a Greek studio a TV which worked! Air conditioning if needed but payable daily.
Christina and Spiros very welcoming and the pool and pool area spotless, they realy took pride in the apartment block.
Lygia is quiet few tavernas on the water front also a few on the roadside but very cheap and friendly, recommend the Seven Islands by the water , and I mean by the water! No complaints about any of the places we ate, still bring you the complimentary drink and fruit at the end of meal.Recomend the island hopping trip which takes you to Meganissi, then a beach bbq also cruises round Skorpios the private island of the Onassis family.
All in all thoroughly recommended and enjoyed, I came to Lefkas 12 years ago and stayed in Nidri, what I saw of Nidri looked a lot more bustlier and busy than then but things move on, obviously if you want more bars and tavernas fine but we enjoyed Lygia for the peace and quiet and the wonderful views of mountains and overlooking islands, shall certainly be returning next year, another bonus, sounds bit snooty but no brits abroad, football shirts etc!Greeks themselves seem to holiday which tells you something, also Italians and Germans.
