An Introduction To Lesbos
Lesbos - still the kind of Greek island that made Greece famous. It is home to pine forests and olive groves, beaches with sunbeds and unspoilt coves, fishing harbours, volcanic uplands, flamingoes and bee-eaters. Home to the ouzo makers and the sort of taverna where the proprietor takes you into the kitchen to see what's cooking and the fish he caught last night. Lesbos cares about tourists and the environment but hasn't been spoilt by tourism.
