Possibly the best placed hotel for a stay in Molyvos. It is just minutes, and a level walk, from the beach, shopping streets, tavernas, tourist information, car hire, the open air cinema, bus stop and banks, yet a quiet and peaceful location overlooking olive groves, the town, or the sea from some rooms. Very quiet at night. It is family-run, all very friendly, helpful, with good English. For example when our luggage was late arriving - the streets are so narrow only small cars and vans can access properties- Maria phoned us to check we hadn't got it ourselves and was on the phone to the rep by the time we got downstairs. Our rooms were airy, a good size, with twin beds, full-sized fridge, TV, phone, armchair, dining chair, safe, two power points, a small table and dressing table and stool. There were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe but little drawer space. We paid a small supplement for a balcony which was worth it. The TV had good reception on a few channels incl. the french 'Euronews'. Air conditioning cost 6 euros per day, but though it was very hot some days we didn't need it. The shower room was spacious; the light needs to be on for the hairdryer to work. One bath room lacked a shower curtain; the floor dried very quickly but it confirmed that the 'wet room' concept for a bathroom is not for me. Street-side rooms were OK. The bar had a TV, books, and comfortable sofas but was seldom used. Most chose to eat outside on the narrow terrace or on the grassed area round the pool. Breakfast is the only thing that lets this hotel down. There is plenty of food in the buffet but choice & quality is restricted - bread, cake, jam, sliced processed cheese, cold hard-boiled eggs, ham, with an orange drink, tea or coffee (not as nice as the bar coffee). The addition of real juice, a cereal, fruit, greek yoghurt and honey would make this top rate. Many people brought their own supplies to the table. Prices at the bar were very reasonable, and the staff brought drinks out to wherever you were sitting in the garden. The pool was never crowded, the grass well-maintained, plenty of tables, comfy chairs, sunbeds and shade. It wasn't usual to 'bag' sunbeds with towels, when some started doing it it caused problems. While we stayed the clientele were a pleasant mixture of English, Dutch and Scandanavian and some Greek families. Many young and mature couples but also some families with children of various ages. I would use it again.

The hotel is very well situated in Molyvos on fairly level ground. It was very quiet especially at night. Air conditioning was available but not needed. The owners and staff did all they could to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was of very good quality, continental in nature. We like cereals so we bought some bowls and provided our own, as everything else was ok and plenty of it. The hotel is exactly as shown on their website. Very convenient to beach and town. The roads are very cobbly but we got used to it in a couple of days. We would recommend this hotel to couples especially. http://www.amfitriti-hotel.com/

This was the first time we had flown on an Excel Airways plane, a bit old fashioned but comfortable, outgoing meal nothing to be desired, but eatable. The flight only took 3hrs 15 mins so went pretty quick.
After quite a long journey (2hrs 45 mins) we arrived at Molyvos.

We stayed at the Amfitriti hotel, situated 2 mins from the beach (pebbled) and 2 mins from the main steet. We were greeted by the owners, who were very pleasant (although its hard to get a smile out of him! apparently he's well known for not smiling). Our room was how it looked on the Hotels internet site, so we knew what to expect, tho some rooms varied. Everywhere was kept clean, by the very cheerful maids. Breakfast was the same everyday (Ham, Cheese, Eggs, bread) but you could take your own food, and either sit in or out. Overall, suited out needs.
Molyvos is a very nice place, with lots of restaurants to choose from, some of the places i can remember by name were: Baracuda, Sansibal, Triana, and the Italian
which name i forget, Captains Table, 1912.
I would say a two course meal with drinks eg caraf of house wine, bottle of beer would be in between 25 - 35 Euros.
But you cant beat Friends for their Giros's they were gorgeous, about 1.8 Euros, cant go wrong. Owner and staff very friendly. We recommend the Persidan for the special salad and the Crepes. We spent most of our time at The Pirates bar, its up on the level before you head down to the harbour, again the owner (The Baker) and the staff very friendly. Best place for taking pictures of the sunset. Every body we spoke to were extremely friendly, these places are only a handful, we couldn't visit them all.

We went on the Petra night, this was at a small Greek restaurant in Petra (named Traditional), you could actually go without going on an organised trip. We really enjoyed that evening, joining in the entertainment and all.
Walked to Eftalou, maybe took over 1 hour but stopped half way for a drink. Had a bathe in the sea where the springs are. Some people were a little disappointed. Didnt actually to into the the dome, so unsure what that was like.

Majority of the streets are cobbled, so i wouldn't recommend taking your high heals!
OVERALL, A RELAXED AND ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY.
