Hello
We booked our holiday with Kosmar a good ten months before our departure date at the time we paid a higher supplement to fly with air 2ooo than there charter airline astraeus,7 days before departure they changed us back to astraeus.Onto the Blue Sky complex now the rooms were not upto the standard that we were led to believe but they were pretty clean except for the matresses, the pool was very clean and the surrounding gardens were great.
It is not a child friendly enviroment in the complex or outside, inside the shallowest part of the pool is about 4ft the deepest about 10ft and between siesta times they request a low noise level around the pool and buildings, the owners do tell the children to be quiet or to stop doing things that kids get up to,I dont think the owners son would make a good child nanny, whats the point having a pool table on the complex if you do not let all your paying guest use it.
Parking is restricted on the complex as I found out when I had to park on the road and got a nice ticket for 65 euros the other 4 cars did not, mine was the only hire car there.
Out on the front you our spoilt for choice for lunch, dinner or even a drink loads of eating places all a pretty good standard except for one which is down one the back roads it is exceptional it is called The Traditional it is by The Hotel Theofilos they have a greek night on mondays not to be missed the owner is a gem.Getting about is quite easy even though most of the mountain roads our like somthing out of the Italian job, we did notice a lot of cats and dogs some of them were forming packs certain times of the day.
Petra does seem to have everythink for a smallest town ie:doctors, dentist, chemist, cash machine, gym and a shingle beach but they do need to invest in pavements or to slow down the hundreds on motobikes which never seem to end going up and down the beach road not a place for small kids or pushchairs.
The island it self is clean and there our some lovley churches and thermal springs, this is a place I will not be visiting again until my kids have grown up, my kids were bored most of the time but all in all not a bad holiday. The only grumble I have is the tour operatour did promote the Blue Sky complex as great for families and children.

We have just returned from Blue Sky and we were impressed with the rooms. They were spacious and clean which is all you need really. The owners of Blue Sky were very nice, Antony (the son) being the main entertainer.
We would say it was ideal for couples wanting a quiet week away although there were lots of children there whilst we were there. I don't think there's too much for them to do apart from the pool and with the siesta time being from 2pm utnil 5pm, it is difficult to keep them quiet during this time. Antony and George did ask them to be quiet quite a few times.
For our party, having a nearly one year old was hard work and the travel cot she had to sleep in had seen better days. If you are thinking of staying at Blue Sky, I would consider taking at least a cot mattress if you can fold it small enough!
It was a lovely place with very friendly owners. Lesbos is a beautiful island and we shall definitely visit again when our daughter is a bit older!
