The Aegeon aparthotel made a wonderful quiet, relaxing and lazy holiday. The roms were spacious and clean with a fridge and air conditioning. A good sized balcony but the beds were a mite uncomfortable and had seen better days. The staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble and the buffet breakfast was must better than we anticipated. The pool bar was great with comfortable seating including settees. The swimming pool was rather small but it was peaceful with free sunbeds. There was no children staying here so it was wonderfully quiet. The guests were a mixture of British, German and Dutch which the latter being in the majority. The hotel was located some 7 minutes from the beach and 14 minutes walk to the town square where the majority of tavernas were located. Skala Kalloni is a resort to visit if you want a lazy holiday where life revolves around the beach and tavernas. No bank here and very few shops. there are a few low key bars.

Great for beach life and tavernas. excellent food and inexpensive. No bus service or bank and very few bars.A picturesque harbour and a flat resort so worth hiring a bicycle out. Car hire suggested for part of the holiday.

GOOD POINTS: A quiet rural location No traffic noise. Helpful and friendly staff. Efficient and quick reception service. Good sized rooms. Nice bathroom Excellent shower with shower curtain. Almost constant hot water. Room cleaned 6 times weekly linen changed twice weekly. Individual teerace with table and chairs. Air Conditioning Fridge. The Hotel Aegeon was a wonderful suprise and far exceeded our expectations. The hotel has 45 rooms in a very quiet countryside location with no traffic noise. The grounds are very pleasant and immaculated kept. The swimming pool is small with only a minimal shallow part but you do get free sunbeds, cushions and umbrella. The poolside bar is open all day until just after midnight and is a nice place to join other guests for a night cap.The price of drinks is not much different to those in the rersort. The rooms were spacious with a fridge. Air conditioning was an extra cost but we were aware of this before we booked. The bathroom for this standard of hotel was one of the best we have had in 12 visits to the Greek Islands. It included a shower curtain and had constant hot water. A good sized terrace with table and chairs. It was clean 6 times a week and linen was changed twice a week. The staff were relaxed, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cold buffet breakfast eaten on the terrace was good but got a bit boring by the second week. A little change of dishes some days would have been preferable. We hired a pedal bike for 2 days at 5 euros a day at reception and we cycled to the town of Kalloni 3 kilometres away where the nearest Bank cash machine is located. it is only a short flat stroll to the sand and shingle beach and the The square where the majority of the tavernas are located is a 13 minute casual walk. If we had only minor disappointment it was there was no internet facilty available so we could check our E Mails but otherwise we cannot find fault with this smashing small to medium sized hotel. One point of note a larger proportion of the guests were Dutch but to us this was no problem. We would strongly recommend it here to couples but not families. It is not a resort for children and there were not many kids in skala Kalloni which for us was great news. Not everyone wants noisey children around.

The Aegeon Hotel is a little gem and was a great choice and was in a countryside location. The rooms are quite spacious simply furnished with a fridge and air conditioning. There is a good sized balcony and nice bathroom with an effective shower with hot water most of the time and even a shower curtain which is most unusual for Greece. The rooms were cleaned 6 times a week and the laundry was changed twice a week. The staff were first class being helpful and one of most friendly group of staff we have encountered. Breakfast, buffet style, was very nice and could eat outside on the veranda. There was a choice of 2 fruit juices, a selection of cereals, tinned fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese, jams, honey, boiled eggs (fried egg occasionally), cake and biscuits. There was choice of either brown and white which generally was fresh. Tea or Coffee and some speciality teas like mint . The poolside bar had comfortable seating and was nice place to have a drink which was reasonably priced, after returning from evening out. Reception was excellent and when we asked for assistance in a minor problem it was rectified very quickly. There was a small lounge area. You could hire a safe deposit box for 15 Euros and week and a bicycle for 5 euros a day. There was also a book exchange library. The swimming pool had free sunbeds and umbrellas. The location was extremely quiet with the most noise made by the birds who inhabit this resort in large numbers. The beach was approximately a 7 minute walk with the nearest taverna being the same. The town square where most of the tavernas could be found was 15 minutes away. If we were being critical the only minor faults were the swimming pool was small and had no shallow end so no good for non swimmers and the nearest mini market was a 12 minute walk so it was a drag having to carry back bottles of water. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to couples who want a peaceful holiday and would not hesitate to recommend it to like minded people. We would not think this is a good place for family holidays. We would certainly return again without hesitation. We would suggest car hire for part of the holiday and it should be noted there is no Bank cash machine in this resort the nearest being over 3 kilometres away. Credit cards are not widely accepted so ensure you take cash to see you you through until you can get to the Bank which if you walk takes nearly an hour in each direction.

The Aegeon Hotel is excellent for couple wanting tranquility in a peaceful location. The rooms were better than expected although we did have to keep requesting a fridge to be put in our room before in eventually arrived. Cold drinks and beers were essential. The room was clean and comfortable with very little noise. Air conditioning and Safe deposit boxes were an added extra cost. The breakfast was above average by Greek standard and the pool area and poolside bar were a definite plus point. We found the staff to be very friendly although in true Greek fashion they were never in a hurry to do anything. Never mind we were on holiday. The beach was 7 minute walk away and a couple of tavernas were nearby but to reach a greater selection it was a 15 minute casual walk. Overall we found the Aegeon Hotel met our requiremnts the main one being a get away from it all holiday. Sunbeds were free and also a limited number of umbrellas. He pool area got popular in late afternoon and sunbeds were reserved so you needed to get your towel out early in true German style.

Skala Kalloni is a fairly quit resort although we believe it does get busy during late July and August. The beach itself was excellent but the sea was a disappointment as we had to swim among the see weed. We found eating out to be a high standard providing...
