"Panorama Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Panorama Apartments:-
.....Well, what can I say? They are exactly as they look in the brochure. We expected a studio - we got a clean, new, airy, large, one bedroom apartment (Nothing like the usual Greek standard...The shower worked too!!!!Yipppeee!!) Very impressive!!
Unfortunately, the brochure omitted the fact that The Panorama Apartments are at the edge of a HUGE complex (this has been blanked out on the brochure!! Naughty Kosmar!) The apartments are actually called Panorama Resort!! For 2 nights we were kept awake with the ";boom boom"; music of the outside disco!! (One night it STARTED at 12.20 am!!!)
Finikounda:-
Lovely little town, food nothing special (Bennetiko's was our favourite) Most places really friendly (Especially the bakery/pastry shop....who gave us a free beer on our first day!) We actually waited 20 minutes to get served in Medusa Bar.....and we finally walked out as we were ignored totally - even they only had one other customer in at the time!!
The Beach:-
We used to walk to ";Wendy's Beach"; as it was less crowded (Wendy's beach is the large beach where Wendy, The Kosmar rep lives) It also has a nice bar/restaurant there too!
Wendy - Kosmar Rep:-
She knew her stuff and she didn't try to ";hard sell"; Kosmar tours. She had a sense of humour!....Thank you Wendy! (Shame about your rubbish jokes!!) Wendy's husband, Gordon, had the car rental place in Finikounda. We went in just to ";book swap"; and chat! A lovely couple!
Notes/Misc:-
The guy at the exchange place is a bit of a misery and doesn't give you a very good exchange rate (use the ATM or take Euros or go to the next town to the bank!)
Don't get the red wine from the taverna on the new road behind the church! It tastes like sherry!(They actually gave us the carafe for free...possibly because they saw us struggling to drink it!! Ha! Ha!) The food is good there...we were probably unlucky with the wine!
Would we go back? Possibly not, but we enjoyed it all the same.
