Mykonos is my 7th Greek island, and I have to say one of the most unfriendliest of them all. The island has little to offer other than the beaches, that are OK.

Mykonos town is fun to get lost in its narrow winding streets. Everything is very picture book, and very expensive, a short is 6 euros, beers 4 euros. Food in some of the restaurants attrocious, the corner Gyra places were better. Marios is right in the centre of town, great location for night life. Rooms are tiny, r/o basis, the bathrooms are broom cupboards, and it gets very noisy in the evenings, being in the town. No patio or anthing to sit in, as a base for a night or two fine, any longer no recommended. As a base for visiting other islands Mykonos is good, but for a 2 week holiday I would not recommend. Eventually moved to Domna Apartments after complaining to the rep about the accomodation, great Self Catering appartments on the outskirts of town, one of the few friendly greeks I came across. All in all worth visiting once.
