We went to Gaios in june 2006 and stayed at alexandros studios, we were put in studio facing the road and opposite a distribution centre that loaded night and day, that combined with the road being the most used road in Paxos meant we never got any sleep for the time we were there, trying to find the Kosmar rep was impossible because there was not one on the island only the rep from another company who suggested a few things .

we couldn't go in the pool because all the local children were in there and it became too rowdy and dangerous. after 4days we had had enough and packed a bag and wandered across the island, we stayed at loggos and lakka.

we had a wonderful time and we'll definately go back to Paxos but not to these studios and after using Kosmar for 8 years and singing their praises I think it's now time to kick them into touch due to lack of Customer Care...

Arrived at the Alexandros Apartments after a one hour hydrafoil crossing from Corfu and were met by owner Spiros who welcomed us like long lost friends. We had a great holiday there and nothing was too much trouble - new shower hose fitted in minutes (no Greek time here then!) The apartments were basic but absolutely fine, heck, we weren't in them that much. No kettles so bring your own. A Word of warning tho - beware of the little meze you get with every alcoholic drink purchased at the pool bar - absolutely brill - so if you're watching the calories ...

Paxos had great restaurants and tavernas our particular favourites being Georges Corner and Dodo's and Genesis was good if you wanted some Greek dancing. Some nice, not too expensive, bars in the Square too were great and you have to try the corn on the cob from the harbour vendors, cooked over the coals - fantastic.

We hired a 30hp boat for a couple of days and took our time going all round the island and Anti Paxos too which was well worth a visit for its lovely sandy beach but a bit crowded.

Only one thing on the negative side and that was the local lads on their motorbikes every Saturday night, roaring up and down the roads at goodness knows what speed, til 5am and beyond - not funny. Spiros said it was them just letting of steam - I say a bit ignorant or am I just getting on a bit!

Kosmar Rep was great, unobtrusive but there when you needed her - Thanks Corrine

All in all a great holiday and Spiros and Babis and families, we'll hopefully see you next year and Babis - strangle these cockerels!
