we stayed for 2 weeks at the espiria and it was a very relaxing hotel. the staff are very friendly, especially peter the pool bar man. the resort is very spread out, andhas lots of tavernas and bars, some better than others. a couple of good tavernas are ";manolis";on the left hand side of the road as you walk past the pharmacy and ";marias"; on the bend in the road. we went to athens on a day trip it was excellent very well organised by our kosmar rep, and also to olympia which was absolutley out of this world an absolute must.the beach isright on the doorstep, and the sea is super for swimming as it is very shallow for along way out.

We all enjoyed our 2 week stay in July Esperia. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels and bedding twice a week. Everything about the hotel was very clean, and hot water was always available which is not always possible in Greece.

The hotel is a good 10 minute walk into the resort but on the plus side is directly opposite the sandy beach. All the restaurants we tried were all very good, alot actually being on the beach making it lovely and cool for eating not to mention a beautiful setting. We went on 2 trips both very good and reasonable value booked through the Kosmar rep. The trip to the Corinth Canal and also the the ancient site of Epidavros was very good and enjoyed by us all as was our trip to the islands of Hydra and Spetse.

Something to be aware of is,as Athens is only 2 hours away the resort can get very busy at the weekends. Don't be put off this holiday because of the 3 hour transfer it really isn't a problem!

We stayed at the Esperia in the busy height of the summer on a bed and breakfast basis. We found the hotel an excellent base for our travels: staff were friendly and our room was immaculately clean with bed linen changed every other day. The room had the added bonus of free, efficient air conditioning, free safety box (fully functional) in the wardrobe and a minibar which doubled up as a fridge for our own drinks. The hotel, situated on a fairly busy, but not excessively noisy junction is situated at the best end of Tolon as far as the beach is concerned. Here it is wide, backed by dunes, and access to the sea is easy across a thin strip of shingle to a gentle sloping water with clean sandy bottom.

The breakfasts were adequate, but admittedly a bit monotonous, but we enjoyed eating out each night of our fortnight at a different taverna, all offering a wide range of fresh sea food and Greek cuisine.
We used this hotel in Tolon as our base to explore the historical sites of Argos, Tiryns, Nemea, Mycenae, Napflion and Epidavros. Our day cruise on the MV Mantelena from Tolon harbour was excellent, visiting the island of Hydra, which is devoid of motor vehicles and where a line of docile donkeys greets passengers to serve as taxis. On the return journey we called at the island of Spetses which is reputed to be the setting for John Fowles novel ";The Magus";.
Arguablythe highlight of our fortnight's visit was a trip to the Corinth Canal and a spectacular cruise through it from Aegean to Ionian then back the other way.

We may return to Tolon to see other sights for which we didn't have time. If we do we will book with Kosmar for the excellent service and at the Hotel Esperia for the excellent accommodation and value for money.

Flight with Astreaus was fine. Transfer not so good as we had to wait 1 and a half hrs for another flight to come in.
not impressed!
Esperia HOtel very good, extremely clean, and friendly helpful staff.
Beach just across the road with sunbeds for hire. 2 + umbrella + foot washing bowl
8 euros per day. Nice beach. Very few rocks/shingle, just sand.
Tolo a small friendly resort. Excellent tavernas where you can have a table on the beach with lovely views.
A few bars but we were happy to go back to the hotel bar which was open until 2/3am if people wanted to drink. Prices no more expensive than outside.

Would recommend Tolo and this hotel. Tolo especially good for couples and those with small children as I felt it very safe. No lager louts etc.
