Ornos is a pretty resort, very small with a lovely sandy beach (about 800 yards long) sloping quite gently into the sea. Beach bars/restaurants all along with sunbeds at 10 euros for the two per day. And they were comfy and padded. Behind the beach is a road with 5 or 6 more reastuarants and a few bars.

So basically Ornos is small but there's enough if you just want beach, meal and a drink. Buses into Mykonos town are every 30 mins and run into the middle of th night and were 1.40 euros each way taking about 10 minutes.

Mykonos town is much larger with narrow backstreets, designer shops, nightclubs, bars and a nice harbour.

So all good so far.....but......now comes the bad bit...

Weve been to lots of islands and its lovely to have cocktail, a meal with a bottle of wine, and a few beers later......but not in Mykonos unless you are rather wealthy.

Mykonos town and Ornos were the only towns we saw, they are chic and upmarket with corresponding price tags.

We went into Mykonos just once and after being charged 16 euros for a cocktail, 7 euros for a 330ml bottle of Mythos and 50 euros for a seafood meal shared with my wide with just a tzaziki, a glass of wine and a small beer - we didn't go back!

Ornos was a bit better but not a lot. 4.5 euros for a beer on the beech. Most nights we ate in Ithiki restaurant on the beach which is highly recommended, especially the seafood which we ate a lot partly becuase I'm on a diet and partly becuase a steak was 26 euros! Most nights we shared a starter, had a seafood dish, a glass of wine and s beer and it was nearly 50 euros which is expensive for Greece.

We just arent used to this and its sad when you start thinking about money on holday so its back to Skiathos in September and never to Mykonos again.

The food at Sultanas, as expected from Turkish cuisine - was delicious, but the entertainment just topped off a great night. If you are after a laid back, fun atmosphere then I would definitely recommend a visit.

Mykonos Town is a very lively place with lots of restaurants and bars. We found the people friendly and the food excellent. I would definately go back.

Mykonos Town is very compact; everything is just few metres away. Famous Wind Mill and little Venice is just 200m away from each other. Little white street of Mykonos town are as charming at night as during a day. Sunset from Little Venice is just excellent

It is a nice resort but nothing special. If you want to go and just drink and have fun during the night it is great, but other than that it is expensive and honestly, Halkidiki is much more beautiful.

I was unsure what to expect from Mykonos as i hadnt heard very many reviews about it from people and this was my first visit to the island. I have to saw i thought it was completely brilliant. The beaches are long & sandy & seem to go on for miles. The nightlife is also very good for anyone looking for a good time & who are into clubbing. I had wanted a more relaxing holiday so only experienced a few nights of the nightlife in Mykonos. The weather was gorgeous & i came home with a lovely golden tan, the sun always seemed to be shining. The scenery is idyllic & you feel like you are literally staying in paradise. It was so nice that i did not want to leave. I would recommend staying in Mykonos to anyone wanting a bit of pampering & a nice relaxing peacefull holiday. Worth every penny of the money i paid for it & i would go back tomorrow if i could.

We absolutely love Mykonos and will return every few years. although more expensive than any of the other greek ilands we have been to it is by far the most beautiful. Avoid august we felt that we had been dropped off just as calvin klein left all of their underwear models there - enoughto make you turn anorexic!. There are great bus services to the most spectacular beaches. I would reccomend super paradise and elia!

Beautiful town, small but so much to do, great bars, amazing restaurants and lovely sights and beaches. Cost is all excellent, really cheap. Hope to return soon, perfect holiday.

I have been with my partner to various gay resorts and this was the best so far. Preferred this to Ibiza Town, it was a bit more laid back and bohemian. Some of the bars are really expensive because the Primrose Hill set have set up camp, but ignore them and have a great time!

Brilliant nightlife and excellent beaches!!! Probably the best place my partner and I have been to. Really loved it. The food is amazing too!

We had a great time in Mykonos. Really nice town, the harbour area is great, and there is the right mix of cocktail bars and upmarket shops, without being too pretentious.

Ornos is a small place but also very stunning, with a short walk to the beach it is worth every step, it is warm the beaches are immaculate and if you go into the water fish even swim around your feet!! It is a short bus ride into Mykonos town and at the beach you can even get a boat to visit another beach, its worth just coming here to see the beach, its an amazing place.

Mykonos Town is really fabulous! We like it very much - so much to do, both day and night. The beach is lovely, the sea is warm. Just the perfect holiday destination really, especially with the large gay scene.

Definately a lot better than the hotel - however personally I would say that it is better to go elsewhere in the Greek islands or Corfu.

Ornos is a small village but enough tavernas for a fourtnight's break a couple of bars which are open till late but not noisey.
