Pefkos is only a holiday location. It is for those looking for food and drink and general holiday essentials. No designer shops, no jewellers, no lookie lookie places or culture but if you are looking for a holiday location where you can drink and watch the world go by or eat fantastic Greek food then it is the place to be. Pefkos is winter would be empty, there would be few long term residents. We ate regulary in Delizia, upstairs, and the food was wonderful. The smiling host and his family attend you every need, except don't expect the bill to come quickly, we had to raise him several times to pay. We ate also at Georges and again coukd not fault, his Mousaka was to die for. But for excellent food, setting and service go to Taverna Nikolas. You can see it from the pool up on the hill. Go up Cardiac Hill and turn right away from town. Again about 15 min walk. The food here was the best we had. Nikolas was attentive and his wife and baby Stella a delight. We ate ribs, Mousaka (though George equalled) Chef's Mezza and could not fault it. Chef's Mezza was almost too much to eat. Of all places this was the best. Generally a main meal was 8 - 10 Euro and a starter 3. You coulkd pay more if you wanted specialities. We drank at the Wild West bar, by the side of Delizia and if you enjoy 60s, 70s, and 80s music this is the place to be. Drinks were about the same wherever you went. A pint (.4L) was 3 Euro and cocktails 3.30. Happy hour the beer was about 2. Our teenagers then disapeared to either Pefki Bar or Eclipse. Elclipse, at the far end of the strip is open till 8AM and encourages dancing on the flaming bar, swimming in the pool and playing card when youngsters may have had a few. Whatever the licencing laws are, from 15 upwards they get served anything! So beware! We did the Around Rhodes trip with the tour operator, exensive at 44 Euros each plus food and entrances but good to see and hear about the island. Our guide Scarlet was excellent.

A very quiet village but has a beautiful church and square area. Its typically greek and lovely if you want a quiet holiday but there is very little choice of eating places but the ones that are there are quite good quality. A must is Tommies bar. Run by Tommie and his dad. The evening starts with quizz, then bingo, killer darts, and pool. The lads work very hard and make everyone welcome. We have won loads of prizes including over 120 euros on bingo alone! Drinks are the cheapest by far with a cup of tea 50 cents, a malibu and lemonade 2 euro 80 cent and a beer 2 euros.
Please visit Tommies its great!

Rhodes Town review
"Fantastic resort - plenty to do"
resort to a friend
Rhodes Town has plenty to offer for everyone. The New Town has Bar Street with all your pubs and clubs as well as having a beautiful harbour. The Old Town is a must see with hundreds of little shops and lovely restaurants - none of your usual tat in the shops though as they are full of handmade jewellery, designer clothes, shoe shops etc. There is also another harbour outside the Old Town and loads of lovely walks and museums/churches etc to see. It can be expensive to eat out but there are some really good restaurants in the New Town such as La Casa (beautiful traditional Greek restaurant) and Scalinis. Both are very reasonable as my husband and I had a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine and coffees at the end and it cost under 40 euros. The meals were beautiful and we actually thought they had undercharged us at first but no - that was the right price. The previous night at a different restaurant we paid more than double that so look around. We booked a boat trip (there are loads to go on) and it was fantastic so would recommend that. We went to Anthony Quinn Bay and Kalithea on our boat trip and both bays were just stunning. Overall this resort has something for everyone. However if it's Brit bars you're looking for it may not be your cup of tea. There are a lot of other Nationalities such as German, Norwegian and other scandinavians in this resort so if your looking for loads of English, Irish and Scottish bars to choose from you won't find them.

The resort itself is very quiet with Lindos approx 10 mins in a taxi for 9 Euros you can pick and choose whether you want lively or not. This was by far the best package holiday I have ever had! Thoroughly recommended for a romantic time!

Rhodes town was very good, especially if you like roaming around old castle ruins etc, and the clock tower was well worth the $5 entrance fee (free drink) for the view across Rhodes town. The old town also has a huge market which is great to mooch around, but can be a bit pricey. I bought a cowboy hat (practical for sun on face and neck) in shop opposite doreta beach hotel that cost $7.90, in Rhodes old town it was $13!! Just check some prices before you go. We did go to Faliraki, but at lunch time it was dead. presumably all the young ravers were in bed sleeping off their nightly shenanigans - beach seemed nice, but no breeze, so it was VERY hot!!

still charming but seems to be changing.i hope it is not down the slippery slope to british yob culture.more disco bars popping up,more stag/hen/wedding parties roaming the streets.people now seem to be able to drink in street till all hours where before doors closed ay 12 and everyone kept inside.still an utterly unique experience and somewhere i would always recommend you must see, especially if you love greece.charming cobbled streets wind everywhere ,rooftop restuarants too numerous to mention and still plenty of quaint bars and cafes strewn up and down the streets.taxis a plenty, prices quite expensive but you pay for the atmos.thomas cook reps, the less said the better, didnt get one on either transfer and rep in apartments seemed a little out his depth.asked and paid for extra leg room seats on return flight week in advance, was told on morning of flight not available.however when booking in asked again and was told were available,so what attempt the rep made who knows! plus thomas cook charged 40e each and airport only 35e so cheers mate, saved me 10e. it makes you wonder what we pay thomas cook for, dont seem to do much repping anymore.

Ok Ialyssos is all about the Blue Bay. The rest including Kremasti are only worth alookmif you need a walk or a trip to chemists. Billy's Bar is around the corner from Hotel for you Sky Footie fans. Trips to Rhodes old town were a really nice night out. 15 euros in Taxi to there. Trip to Aqua park at 20 euros and adult and 10 a kid was not cheap but a great day out. We took taxi our selves so went from 9:30 to 6:15pm. Organised trip was too short. Taxi ther and back was 40 euros. Vally of Butterflys not to all tastes but was beautiful and can not belive that many butterflies. We hired car and went there ourselves which was much cheaper than orgaised trip. Lindos also very bgeautiful but go at night to really enjoy.

What a Fantastic resort. Would definately go back here and would recommend it to anyone. The night life is brilliant. some fab clubs and the bars are great too. If your with 18-30's you will do a bar crawl but end up in georges for most of the holiday..... Free bar!!! Plenty of things to do in the day time too. There is a fab beach with loads of watersports especially peters try the crazy shark (crazy sofa as we called it) There is also a fun fair with ferris wheel and a crazy roller coaster which doesnt look scary but it jolts you around. There is also a sling shot and a go kart track. You will never be bored. Best holiday ever. You'll have a fab time.
