"Haraki Heaven"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Second year in Haraki, first year at Stella, a bit dated and needs a bit of TLC. The room was not even cleaned properly when we arrived.

Arrived on 15 July for our 4th Holiday in Haraki but we have never been to Stella's before.
WOW what a view to wake to in a morning.
The studio was basic but we only needed it for sleeping washing and changing.
It was lovely to sit on the balcony and wave to our friends as they went past.
Haraki is quiet this summe and for the first 2 weeks we had nobody either side of us but the second week 2 lovely families came.
Haraki Dreams again asusual is the best pub in the world and Manolis and Dina Taverna lovely food.
Kostas and Elena are back on the front in what used to be Kiss Burger, we ate there aswell as they are really good friends of ours food as usual very good.
It was lovely to see all our friends again even though we keep in touch via email it was lovely to see them.
This is our Heaven on Earth with the best people in the Universe. As I have said before IF GOD MADE ANYTHING BETTER HE KEPT IT FOR HIMSELF.
Booked again for next year back at Stella's the owners are lovely.
To everyone we met new and old THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT HOLIDAY IN PARADISE.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Haraki had not changed very much from 2003 when we were last there. One villa had been finished and another was still in progress. That seemed to sum up all the construction work that had happened in twelve months!
Our favourite eating-place was the same as last year, Parathiso with Yanis and Elena. However we did miss the 'specials' they had on our last visit. We also enjoyed Kostas which was excellent value for money, the Greek Kitchen with the banter from Demitria and the Zographos which is located next door. Da Vincis the Italian restaurant also presented excellent fare although it must be said that my wife and I could not manage both a starter and a main course, as the portions are large! We liked a cold beer at lunchtime and Haraki at Night was a good spot to watch the sea and the world passing by.
The supermarket next to this, Georges, seemed to be open all hours and always had fresh produce. George and his wife were always very pleasant and helpful. Next to the Stella was a car rental lot run by Mary who was always cheerful and liked a chat. What Mary does not know about Haraki is not worth knowing.
Our accommodation was at the Stella studios and apartments. We had paid the supplement to have a one bedroom apartment and we were delighted to be on the second floor with what must be one of the best views in the village. We were surprised when we found only 2 small towels. This we mentioned to our rep, Rebecca, who told us she would ask for extra towels but thought it unlikely we would get bath size ones. It told you in the brochure she said. (Where about Rebecca?). We finished up getting another two small hand towels. Bed linen and 2 towels were changed on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
The Stella charges 50 euros a week for air conditioning and 15 euros if you want to keep your room until 1700 hours. Both rather expensive. As we were not departing until 0330 hours this did not suit so we booked a room at DiVincis for the night at 25 euros. The day before we were to depart the Manager came to our door to ask what time we would be leaving. When we told him he offered us the room. We replied that because the notice stated that 1700 hours was the maximum time we could stay, we had booked elsewhere. He was not pleased. The next day we packed our bags bar the last few odds and ends and went off to the beach. We met a couple we had met last year and several times this year (it is that kind of place) and arrived back at the Stella at 1210 hours. The manager greeted us by pointing to our luggage, which he had removed from our room and left on the stairs. I ask you for ten minutes? Now here is the mystery. He had brought in cleaners, not the usual ones, to clean our room. There was a couple waiting to get into our room which was for four people when the next room was empty and for two and they were only staying until 1700 hours. Do you think this was a bit odd?
Haraki remains a village for those that want to chill out and socialise with both locals and visitors alike.
We will return, but not to the Stella!
