The web site for this place is beautiful and we thought it would be just what we wanted - sadly not. How can any establishment without a manned reception, without a bar, with locked access and which serves just bread and jam for breakfast be classed as a hotel?

Front doors are locked night and day and whilst this might be a good security measure at night was a real inconvenience during daylight hours and means an unwelcoming arrival for new guests who cannot gain access. Moreover, locks are at the bottom of the front doors which means scrabbling on the floor to open them - no mean feat for older guests.

Rooms are clean and bright but with just two young girls servicing the whole lot we found that our room was still not cleaned when we arrived back in the evening (after 5p.m.)after days out. This happened several times. We had no kettle as claimed on the web site and though we were promised one it was never forthcoming. It was always very difficult to find any staff at all and so problems remained unresolved. Furthermore, there was noone to ask about the things visitors need to know - buses, car hire taxis, restaurants and so on - the things HOTELS usually advise on.

No fan of, but no stranger to 'continental breakfast', I had at least expected cold meats, cheeses, eggs and fruit!
Bread, jam, juice and coffee were the only things on offer.

The 'help yourself' space for 50 odd rooms was half the size and width of an average domestic galley style kitchen and as you can guess - chaos ensued when several guests arrived together. The courtyard in which to eat breakfast is a lovely area but again, not enough table space when guests from more than a few rooms expected to eat at the same time.

We paid 10 euro per night extra for a sea view. When I enquired as to its whereabouts, the owner told me that if I went to the extreme left of the (very small) balcony and stood on a chair I would see it! But 'never mind' she said - 'you can see trees instead'! Value? I think not! But as the 'sea view' was there, somewhere; - no recourse!

The pool is lovely though its windy rooftop means there are no parasols and so no shade. There is no child's pool or whirlpool as advertised. There is certainly no spa or fitness equipment as advertised.

To sum up - Location is quite good for access to the small resort. The resort itself is very much geared to a German market but has a couple of nice restaurants and easy access to Rhodes town - if you can find anyone at the 'hotel'to ring for a taxi!

The accommodation is clean and basic but VERY overpriced considering the abysmal lack of facilities. The establishment does not, to my mind, meet the 'hotel' title under which it publicises and prices itself. The facilities listed on some of the booking engines are certainly NOT what we found.

I am really not surprised that a tour operator has dropped it from their brochure.

Very disappointed, would not visit again and would certainly not recommend.

We have just returned from our first visit to Rhodes and we had a very enjoyable time. We prefer the smaller hotel and this hotel met our expectations, the hotel is run by a lovely lady Beatrice who will go out of her way to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday. The design of the hotel is wonderful it has an italian theme and Beatrice has many ideas to improve on it further. If you are happy with a small friendly family run hotel and not looking for extras then this will suit.

The hotel is only bed and breakfast which suited us as we like to try out the local tavernas of which there are several within walking distance. We tried three in all and found the third to be the best 'Restaurant Medouza, a friendly family run restaurant offering good home cooked food and we were not the only people returning which said it all.

We will be returning to this hotel in the future.

My second visit to this hotel. The ambience is still the same - relaxed, friendly, etc. I was disappointed to hear that Thomson are not including it in their 2004 brochure - for shame!!
I think everyone I spoke to was really impressed with the hotel - it may only be a 2 star, but the setting and staff make it seem far better.
I may even make a third visit in a year or two!
