"A Lovely Holiday Experience"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This hotel is definitely one we will go back to. The service was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so friendly. It's a gorgeous hotel and impressive from the moment you walk through reception into the marble lobby. Food was great and the seafront location idyllic. It is worth paying for a sea/pool view as I suspect the rooms at the front of the hotel could be noisy, as they are very close to the main road to Rhodes, also the views in that direction are quite limited.
The hotel itself is immaculate but it is a good walk to the bars and shops. This is not a problem but part of the road is unlit with no path and a little daunting when it's dark.
The entertainment was no better or worse than anywhere else we have been but overall the holiday seemed better and I am sure that this was due to the fact that the hotel was lovely, the room was definitely bigger than most we have stayed in, and the Service was exceptional. Everyone was so friendly!
I am not one to return to a hotel over and over again but I am considering going back to this one this year because it ticked most of our boxes!!
It was such a relaxing time - I read a record 9 books in two weeks and still fitted in 3 days sightseeing and evening strolls to the shops on more than one occasion. Leather was great value.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Just returned from a fortnight in the Rodos Palladium and had a great time.
The hotel is excellent. It is immaculate, the staff are very helpful, everything is well presented and maintained, the gardens are lovely and the facilities good.
The restaurant serves a range of good food, although we did find it repetitive the second week, when there seemed to be veal and fish every night. However, as well as the buffet which has starters, main courses and sweets, fresh fruit, cheeses, salads, breads, you can opt for one of the three a la carte dishes on offer every night except Sunday. Indeed you can choose from both the a la carte or the buffet in the course of one meal.
Another option which I would recommend is to take lunch in the hotel instead of dinner and then head into Old Rhodes Town by taxi (11 euros) for a change of scenery one evening. If doing so, remember you don't need to take lunch in the main restaurant and can instead eat at Calypso which gives more choice. You get credit up to the value of around 16 euros there if you want to lunch there instead of having dinner.
We went on 10th May and the season was just beginning, it was quiet in the first week and got busier the next week. Despite this there was never any pressure on the dining room or sunbeds.
Despite going then the weather was great. We had a rainy day, but the rest was 25-30 degrees of constant sunshine, and I was surprised that the days are so long as you could sunbathe from 8am until after 6pm each day.
The pool and sea were too cold the first week as it had been windy for a while, but it got warmer the second week. We tended to use the indoor pool in week one, as the hotel has this facility as well as a spa and gym, all of which are easily accessed, by helpful English speaking staff.
The only criticisms, like other reviewers, are that the nearest shops are towards Faliraki and the first part of the road has no pavement. There is a good supermarket on site though.
Faliraki is hardly worth a visit, despite attempts to clean up its image. Better taking a bus or taxi to Rhodes Town. I gather the bus continues to Lindos and is a cheap option for a visit there. Though the last bus back isn't particularly late.
The hotel is a bit remote and this is more evident in the evening as the entertaintment then is not particularly good. In the first week it was indoors in a piano bar which got a bit crowded, then it moved outside where there was more room. It wasn't great though, certainly not 5 star. A couple of singers were on each week and they were good, as were the Beatle tribute band. Other than that there was a traditional greek night and a poor show put on by the Animation Team.
Otherwise the Animation Team are great, especially with kids - say hi to Rico, Lydi and Art if you visit! We will when we return next year as this hotel is certainly worth a return visit. We also don't want to take risks going to an unknown resort with a three year old and he loved the Palladium as the resort is reasonably child friendly and the staff are so friendly and accommodating.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic! This hotel is great. We really couldn't fault it. Just got back two days ago and felt that you may like some scores and comments:
Rooms 10 out of 10
Food 10 out of 10
Cleaniness 10 out of 10
Evening Entertainment 7 out of 10
Thomson Rep 10 out of 10
Staff 10 out of 10
Location 8 out of 10 (quiet - but we like that, would have been nice though for a few shops other than 'gold' shops!!!)
Places to visit on the island are plentiful but can be very hot so take a hat and water bottle.
We didn't like Faliraki but to be fair Kalithea is still a good walk from there so you don't feel part of that town (just in case you may worry that the hotel is too close - it isn't!)
A must do is Lindos and Rhodes Old Town. We would deffinately re-visit this hotel again.

Overall Hotel Rating:
This hotel was very clean and is of a five star standard. The rooms are excellent but you do need to know that there are no tea-making facilities in the rooms so please take your own, however there is a fridge . There are also no bath robes or slippers provided.Tea down by the pool costs 2.5 euros a cup. (I visited St Georges hotel in Paphos last year and as these facilities were standard there I assumed they would be here) Staff service in the restaurants was excellent however it could have been better at the poolside bars, generally the reception staff were very good. Thomson reps seemed non-existent and their service seemed very poor. Food was very well presented but became boring and sickening in week two.
Although there were plenty of sun beds, there were also lots of people at this hotel with the majority of them being German, Italian, Greek, Spanish, French, etc. and there was a culture of the poolside beds being reserved with hotel towels and pebbles by 8:15 AM, this practice meant that a member of our party needed to rise early to secure beds, to allow us to monitor our children in the pools. I found this practice totally unacceptable, as I'm sure you will.
As I have said this hotel is very clean and prestigious however its location is poor and the local bars, shops and restaurants quickly become boring ( Walk out of the hotel turn left and start walking about 800 metres you bump into a couple of bars and shops on your right everything much cheaper here, carry on walking about another 800 metres you bump into a much bigger shopping complex on your left, there is a little train here that will run you round faliraki for 4 euros it takes about 30 minutes and is well worth it so you can judge if a night out in faliraki is for you). Faliraki will not be of any interest to families and therefore trips to Rhodes town will be required, the buses are crowded, full of none English speaking people, and you'll probably end up taking a taxi, which will cost approximately twelve euros. Rhodes town itself is great, the old town and the harbour being very picturesque. However, for small children, this quickly becomes boring.
All in all, if you are taking a family, then a seven-day holiday here will be sufficient, do not take fourteen days( I was ready to Talk after day 10). Older couples without children will probably have more fun at this hotel, and as previous reviewers have said, the hotel entertainment is appalling.

What a lovely hotel!!
We arrived at 10pm and were immediately impressed by the condition, atmosphere and cleanliness of the entrance lobby and reception.
When we got to our room things were even better. A bigger than average - in my opinion - room with quality fixtures and decor, a large bathroom and a nice balcony with views over the pool to the beach and sea. The room was spotless and was kept this way by very efficient maids during our stay.
Overall and public areas of the hotel were very clean including the pool and the gardens.
The pools were big with plenty of sunbeds all of which had umbrellas. The hotel also had its own stretch of beach with free beds and umbrellas. The beach was a mixture of sand and shingle but the sea was clean and clear.
The food at both breakfast and dinner buffets was great with plenty of choice and all the waiting staff were very friendly and attentive to your needs. There was also a choice of 3 a-la-carte dishes for your main course every night. These were served to your table. We were also able to keep the same table throughout our stay as a little card with your room number was put on the table that you chose on the first night.
All the staff seemed genuinely friendly and their command of English was great although they would help if you wanted to try a few words of Greek on them.
The evening entertainment wasn't great with a piano player at the main bar every evening and various singers, dancers, etc on other nights during our stay.
My only criticism of the hotel were the bar prices which were at least 50% more than local bars/tavernas which were 10/15 minutes walk away towards Faliraki.
To summarise - all-in-all a great holiday at an excellent which I would definately recommend to any couple seeking a relaxing holiday on the lovely island of Rhodes.

Overall Hotel Rating:
what can i say about the rhodos palladium,
lots and mainly good.
first the negatives.
location- ok if you like walking.20 minutes to nearest shops and bars.
entertainment- apart from the german beatles who to be fair were brill, the rest of the evening entertainment was at best rubbish, mainly done by on site entertainment/sports team.
drink prices- i suppose if you can afford this hotel you can afford the drinks!!. but i thought they were pricey. beer 3.75 euros for nearly a pint, most soft drinks about 2.50- 3.50 euros and wait for it, a bottle of strongbow 4.5 euros!!!
thats it on the negatives, cannot comment on childrens entertainment as were'nt involved.positives...
hotel itself- clean and impressive and also for i think the 3rd year running voted best thompson platinum hotel in the world and well deserved.
staff- very helpful, always pleasant to you and nothing was to much trouble. highly recommended are eve in oasis bar, eddie and koula in restaurant and ellie in main bar.
pool- brilliant... clean and suprisingly quiet as a lot of people went the extra 100yds to the private beach, which was also kept very clean and to swim in the aegean is a must. to get a sunbed of your choice around the pool, you need to get your towel down by 8.30, which by most standards is good, obviously for larger parties of which 4 friends joined us the second week , we had to get there by 7.30.food- we were half board, food was always very good, breakfast, lunch and diner, with good selections, we stayed for 2 weeks and cannot remember a dish being repeated for diner.
weather- we had 2 weeks of continuous sunshine, temps ranging from 31 at lowest and 37 (100f) tops, but most times there was a light breeze which made it very bearable.
only slight downer was there was quite a few flies always buzzing around, but otherwise saw very few bugs, a few beetles and a largish centerpede!! but no cockroaches.out and about- falaraki 5 mins down road by taxi (5 euros).yuk unless your into booze and parties. rhodes town 20 mins away by taxi (12 euros). very impressive and definately worth a vist.good restaurants about if you want to eat out, kalithea town was only 5 mins away but didnt go to, so cannot comment.there was a big water park only 10 mins walk down the road which looked good, but didnt go there, but we did venture into falaraki for the go-carts which were very good.
all in all one of the best holidays we have had and would definately recommend anyone to go there and if we went back to rhodes would certainly go back to thr palladium.
