food disgusting,staff rude,entertainment,non exsistent the drink is...well lets just say you play a guessing game of guess the drink.the only one really pleasant member of staff was Rea,always smiling always happy,priceless!

We have just arrived back after 2 wks on the beautiful island of Rhodes.

The hotel Sun and Sky, Kalithea was very disappointing. On our arrival at 3 in the morning, we were shown to our room, which was in the Sky part of the hotel, I could have cried. I know the Greek islands are basic, I have visited them before, but this was awful. The room was against a very busy road, the fridge had to be turned off, it was so noisy, this was just a couple of problems. by 7am my partner was ready to re pack the few items he had un packed. At the welcome meeting we gave our concerns to the rep, Clare. She was always at hand to assist with any probs, thanks Clare. We insisted on a room change or a flight home. They found us another room, which was still basic but 100% better. The Sun area of the hotel is much more comfortable.

The pool area is ok. A shortage of sun beds at the beginning of the hol, this was due to some inconciderate people placing towels on the beds very early in the morning and not returning until several hours later, guess who the main culprits were. Many of the guests complained to the rep who then informed the reception. More beds have since been purchased, solving the problem. The pool snack bar is ok for drinks but, the snack is a choice of 2 types of biscuits daily.

The all inclusive basis is a waste of money. The food was appalling, warm sometines even cold. Not much choice at all. The few breakfast items were the same each morning.

The main bar opened at 5 til 11, then charged for drinks between 11 and 12. The bar staff were ok, unneccessary waiting sometimes tho to be served.

Entertainment was one night a week of Greek dancers and a night of Karaoke. The excitement was just to much. Many guests used the facilities at the Paradise village hotel on the main road, nearest beach to Sun and Sky. There was no charge for this, except for sun beds on the beach, which you paid for on all beaches.

The Olympic brochure did not give an accurate description of location. It stated the hotel was situated in Kalithea. The hotel was actually 4 km from there (according to sign posts on the main road outside the hotel). It was an hours brisk walk to Faliraki and Rhodes or 10 - 15 mins in taxi. (Always agree the fare before getting in the taxi. And if you book a cab from the hotel you will get charged an extra euro).

We hired a car, initially for 3 days but extended to 6. Please don't be scared of driving there, we were at first, no probs. But, please be aware of the very steep, winding roads. There is so much to see. We found many hidden beaches, most of which are shingle, but beautiful and good for snorkelling. Lindos is a must, but, please wear sensible shoes. Very slippery and steep. Prassonisi, the southern most tip of the island, this is were the 2 seas meet. don't miss it. Rhodes old town, a shoppers delight! and lots of cafe bars and restaurants.

All in all we had a great holiday, the accommadation was the only thing which spoilt it, but we just used it as a base.

Would definately recommend Rhodes but not this hotel.

After the mainly negative comments i read on here before we went, I went expecting the worst. If you do that you should be suprised at how not so bad it really is.

Staff are really nice, and friendly. food is a bit dodgy. First week was mainly germans hogging the sky tv. But the second week was mainly english and ok.
Resort is perfectly placed, between Faliraki and Rhodes town, its brill for just chillin out.

There's a little bar across the road with sky, pool table and cheap drinks. Staff are really friendly and they own the shop next to it as well.
Overall worth what we paid for, good relaxing holiday with falaraki close by for entertainment.

just returned from sun and sky hotel kalithea and we dont wish to go back the hotel was in a bad need of repair the rooms were dark anddirty our main consern was the food uneatable we had to ead out spending money on food that we had paid for ie half board

our advice dont go there its not a holiday we wish to remember after asking our rep to to move us this took a week we left this deppresing place my just look that my mom and and dad were staying at rodos the second week of our holidays so we moved to there hotel had a good time there at the rodos star hotel afandou food ex rooms ex and at a lower cost than the sun and sky i dont no why golden sun are sending people to this hotel
