The business card for Castello di Rodi really does sum the hotel up ";greek chic hotel";. It is exactly how the website depicts it, very floral and tranquil, or as Matthew described it as ";having an aura"; about it. And it does. It is hard to describe it, you need to experience it if you like something a bit special, but not too expensive. I would say the hotel was more for couples, with only 2 children there the whole time we were! We had a ";White room"; which was a bit extra, but worth it as again added to the whole relaxing ambience.
The hotel is run by Beatrice who is just always there, at your service. She was the last to bed and first to rise every day! She was always so happy to help and nothing was ever a problem, which again added to the wonderful experience and why i have since recommended this hotel to anyone and everyone!
Its location was right on the edge of Rhodes Town and you certainly couldnt walk into it! However, the frequent buses and hundreds of taxis made it very easy and cheap to get there. And it is well worth the visit. Try not to eat in Rhodes old town as its so expensive though. You must expereince it by night time though.
Nearby to the hotel, 2minute walk, there was a small selection of restaurants, altohugh we did like to go further afield as there was more choice. Do venture into Faliraki (yes Faliraki!!) there are smoe lovely, reasonable restaurants there. And yes there is ";Bar Street";, but it was sooooo quiet to what you would expect as the bars have to turn music off at midnight or close windows.
I came to Rhodes as have been before and really enjoyed the wide variety of culture there is to offer on such a small island. I would defo recommend hiring a car and going to Lindos, Prassonissi (right at the bottom of island where 2 seas meet, but worth the journey), Seven Springs,a ncie beach - Faliraki was lovely golden sands and very civilised at the posh hotels end!
So, if you're going to Rhodes and i would recommend Castello do Rodi without a doubt; the best hotel ive ever been to!
