booked a family room with four beds which was large enough for the four of us.plenty of storage.quite a big bathroom with bath and shower, bonus of a fridge,tv,and air con was included.room was cleaned each day and regular change of towels and bedding.the resturant was very busy at times but you were allocated an area to sit on arrival.good choice of food ie not chips every day.there was always pasta fish,a choice of meat, soup, salad and various veg.breakfast was cereals, eggs, jams.rolls, beans and also a selection of cold meats and cheese.
we found the staff very friendly and helpful.there are two good size pools and lots of beds and parosolls.the animation team of loko, toby, yana and lucia kept people entertained all day.lots of different nationals got on together very well.
takes about 20 minutes to walk into kolymbia, but there are shops and bars within a couple of minutes of the hotel.there is a bus stop outside with timetable and pricelist.2.8 euro to rhodes and lidos.1.8 to falaraki and the water park.we had a taxi back for 15 euro.there are also plenty of car and motercycle hire places.
the shingle beach is a short walk from the hotel and it has a bar and water sports.
we all ejoyed the holiday and would return to this hotel.the only downside was the airport.on arrival we were off the plane and on the coach within an hour, but we were 9th drop off and the journey dragged on a bit.same on the way back 9 pickups but we had to wait over an hour outside the airport which was not much fun at 2-o clock am.

Just had two weeks of fun and sunshine. The kolymbia star was clean with two good pools and plenty of sunbeds. The entertainment both day and night was very good,my boys enjoyed the table tennis torniment and water polo. THE FOOD well lets just say its ok and the you havnt got a lot of room when sat at the tables, the drinks are expensive with your meal a small bottle water is 1.30euros the super market on site charge 20 cents the staff could be more polite and freindly. It is a very multi national hotel with chec,s italians, polish, dutch and yes germans about 65% of them and im sorry to say were not the nicest of people the staff did tend to favour them more.
kolymbia town is a 20min walk from the hotel wich we enjoyed as just on the edge of the main strip was the malibu taverna wich did a lovely ice cold pint of guinness and some lovley food. rhodes town and the harbour was lovely but dont go through the rep get the bus which picks up and drops of right outsie the hotel for 2.70euros. To go to rhodes at night is a must cooler less crowded and looks wonderfull in the dark and the last bus home is 11,o,clock. The water park is very good but again make your own way taxi is cheaper than going with rep plus you get a lot longer there, it opens at 9.30 and closes at 7pm the reps take you at 10am and comes back at 3pm.
over all we had a good holiday .

My friend and I wanted a relaxing holiday somewhere quiet - Kolymbia is not just quiet it is a ghost town. As two young girls we felt extremly vulnerable and unsafe. We couldn't leave the hotel at night because it didn't feel safe to as the roads were dark and it was a 20 minute walk into the town. The hotel itself was simple and clean and the pool was lovely. The beach is only a five minute walk away and that too was nice. As most people have put the food is not good. It is not hot and tastes like it's been stewing for hours.
This is not a place to go if you wish to sight-see or do anything other than lie by the pool although the buses into Rhodes town are reliable and cheap!

Very clean, comfortable accomodation.Frequent linen changes, but the towels ready for renewing.Spacious gardens and pool area with ample free comfortable sunbeds.Evening entertainment (bingo, karaoke etc.)spoiled the atmosphere for us. 15/20 minute walk into town was ideal, as we like to walk.Pass the tackier cocktail bars and go to the Kolymbia Paradise bar on Eucalyptus Street for the best drinks in comfortable surroundings.
Hotel food, buffet style, quite good but often lukewarm and not labelled.Dining room has all the ambience of a Motorway Service station-the staff were only interested in rushing you through your meal and resetting tables for the next mealtime.Bus service to Rhodes town and Lindon cheap, clean and reliable. No need to use taxis!

There was an animation team, they were soo friendly and smily! especailly Geeno and sabby they were really happy and always up for a chat, they organised activities in the day like aqua fit, football, areobics, volleyball etc. Oh and if you are going 2 the kolymbia star this season, i'll just say geeno and sabby.....HOT!!!!...
And the 'fakir' show- fire eatin and standing on glass thats one evening entertainment not to be missed-- trust me it was good!its better than it sounds!!
There was a kids club for the little kids, and a bit of a play area.
There are two pretty big pools and there was plenty of room for sunbeds. The breeze in the day and night was really nice- so it wasn't too hot.
The only real let out was the food in the resturant which was always the same and wasn't the nicest. Though the food in the bar is much better!
In the rooms air con. is included that great so it always cool in the rooms , along with a fridge, hair dryer, T.v (though mostly german) shower etc.. also there was the option of interconnecting rooms so if you are a large party, rooms link so you can be all together.
The area of kolymbia is quiet though, there was bus right outside the hotel and whilst we were there for the week- managed to get to lindos, falaraki, and Rhodes town without a problem. So don't take too much notice of the reps comments about the bus service there air cond. coaches and are pretty frequently and are pretty much on time to the bus timetable.
So if you are going to the kolymbia star this season say hi 2 geeno and sabby from me!!!! and av a great time i'm sure you will!
