Every year on booking a holiday I check all these reviews and to be quite honest with you all I felt that the people who write these reviews basically have far too much time on their hands!! But this year after returning from this holiday I felt compelled to write about this absolutely dreadful place.

Our room was a one bedromm apartment which we paid extra for. Our daughter was supposed to sleep in the main kitch/living area, but as the air con(which we had to pay 50 Euros for) was only in the bedroom, and it was 37C outside so we had to put her bed into the bedrrom...so we could all have a comfortable nights sleep! Very nice when the room was not especially large! When we checked in to the hotel Dom took us upstairs to show us how to work the aircon-he turned a switch and left us with the remote control for this....it kept switching on and off so my husband switched the switch back to where it was and then we had constant air con! So take note should you stay here!!!I must also add that with three days left of our holiday the air con stopped working and I called reception and got a very rude man on the phone...it turned out it was the owners son.. who I had to come downto reception to get him to come up to our room, he did grdgling and switched a couple of switches ont the machine then said hell send for someone. Well that someone never came-so its just as well my husbands an engineer and was able to fix it!! You have been warned!

The bar was quite nice and the food good but as you are so out of the way from anywhere..it really is necessary to get a taxi. and while we were there the owners put up a sign saying that due to a very busy festival the taxis were unable to come to the hotel as they were too busy. We discovered afterwards that this was aploy to keep the guests from leaving the hotel and speninding their money elsewhere. On that subject here are some bar rpices: Pint lager (local) 2E50C large bottle of water 2E, vodcaand dash 3E50C, Ice Cream 2E50C, CHILDS FRUIT SHOOT 3Euro 50 CENTS!! We spent around £900 in a 10 day stay we dodnt do any trips, we didnt eat lavishly this was just for a basic items!!! Oh and another warning yes the bar men are extremely charming, but be warned watch your change...I lost count the amount of times they tried to shortchange people...maybe thats why we seemed to spend so much???

The owners are very unfriendly and one day after a day by the pool we went back to our room and discovered that the maid ahd only left one towel, I went down to reception and asked her for two more..she replied that it was far too late and we would have to wait till tomorrow as all the cleaners had gone home. I would have thought this a reasonable request as the hotel is really very small and she was sitting doing nothing anyway, but Im afraid I was made to feel as though they are doing us one big favour by letting us stay in the hotel - when in actual fact we paid £350 for the pleasure of staying in an extremely basic room with cracked worktops, a fridge that barely worked and had broken shelves, as for the bin wher the toilet paper has to go, you would of thought that the maid would disinfect it every day but she doesnt so the moind boggles thinking about all the germs Yeuch.

The showers are on timers too approx 1 min of hot water then its cold...of course thats when there is any water at all...and when you leaning over trying to fix the water the horrible mouldy, dirty shower curtain sticks to your body...and as there is a window right where your stnding the people in the pool down below can watch while all this is going on!

The beach was very dirty and shingly, and VERY windy..our daughter who is a very competent swimmer couldnt get in to the water as the waves were too strong.

All in all this holiday cost us over £2000 what with flights, accom and food and water and really we wished that we had just booked a better hotel in the first place...so everyone you have been warned if you still decide to com and stay at the Emerald in Kremasti/Trianda bring some cleaning cloths(we had to use new socks)and cleaning fluids for the very dirty kitchen, oh and make sure you bring a lot of money cause youll need it.

Oh so thats it its definately a 5star all inclusive holiday for us in Mexico next February 2008(going to book it right now) as a consolation to this awful holiday

What a great two weeks we have just had. We felt compelled to let all others know about this great resort. We stopped at the Emereld hotel which comes under Trianda but as we found out it is much closer to the charming sleepy village of Kremasti. We took time out one afternoon to walk to the village (About 10- 15 min walk)and Bingo we found TOMMIESBAR and yes my wife was in her element playing cash bingo that paid more money than some English bingo halls. The entertainment that Tommies put on was second to none never a dull moment and would strongly recommend a visit there.

The only down side to us was that the owners of the hotel made it seem compulsory to join their B.B.Q night, but we are not lovers of B.B.Q's and were given the cold shoulder when we said no. but besides this slight Hiccup we will definatly be booking again for 2007.(Maybe try and get a hotel in Kremasti)

The holiday was excellent. We arrived there at 3:30am on Wednesday 29th June 05 and returned Thursday 14th July. The hotel was fab aswell. Dimitri, Maria, Dom and Fio were great staff they made us feel so welcome throughout the whole two weeks.

The hotel was great for all ages there was mixed age groups there. The hotel had great entertainment on. The was bingo, barbaque and disco but it was great.

Just roound the corner there is a restaurant called the Castle you should try there the man is great who owns it and so is the food. There is a English bar in Trienta called Mollys bar that is also very good.

We went on a trip to the water park in Falaraki it is great i recomend it to everyone. The childrens part is even good.
I recomend this hotl to anyone.

Thankyou Emerald for making it a great holiday. I will be back next year.
