Booked cheap&cheerful last minute deal paid £360 each for 2 weeks at Glasgow Fair.Expecting the worst but pleasantly suprised&had a great time.So lets give you the run down. The Hotel is 15mins away from the a'port, yes there is overflying planes and they are low, we thought is was more amusing than anoying and were well aware of this fact before we went so well prepared. On a + got off the plane directed to a taxi and at the Hotel in 15mins. Hotel is family run and friendly. Our apartment was on the 2ndfloor & looked over the pool. The apartments are basic but adequate & in line with other self-catering accomdation on the island. We had to pay for the safe & air-con on arrival 110 EURO in total.Could get away with out air-con if wanted to leave door open as there was a regular breeze and could wear denims at night.Would enquire about offers before purchase. The pool is really clean, a good size and deep. There is a pool bar, the food is good but maybe a bit over priced. Joanne who is married to Kriss (his family own the hotel)is English and really helpful and runs the snack bar. There are a couple of nights that the Hotel has entertainment (Karaoke, Quiz, Pool night & BBQ), bar is opened 24 hrs with happy hour between 8-9, the drinks are priced at approx. the same as the UK, need to try the baby Guiness the are G8. Beach is 5mins walk away and defo worth a visit. When you get to the beach go the the sun loungers at the right (3E). Nico looks after this part and is really friendly and helpful and is a lifeguard. The beach snack bar food is great & really good value, it makes traditional home made chips. The breach is pebbly at the start of the water so to get in this can be a bit sore on the feet (once in it is sandy) so would recommend you take an old pair of trainers or buy a pair of shoes you can wear in the water I got mine in Rhodes for 6E. The sea is great once in so don't let this put you off. The supermarket next to the hotel is overpiced - take a trip into the village for cheaper supermarkets. Kramasti is a laid back village but easy access to livlier towns nearby in a taxi. You must (1)eat at Michalis' which is 3mins from hotel food great & great value(2)visit Tommies Bar for pool they have a webcam look it up B4 U go(3)visit the Church biggest on Rhodes island(4) WW2 german tank down from the hotel worth a picture (5) visit Rhodes 11E in a taxi. You can buy a face telephone card giving 3hrs talktime for 5E. Had a g8 holiday.

We didn't stay at the Margaret Aparthotel, we stayed at the Anselli a little further up the road but the less said about that the better! We met a couple from Huddersfield who mentioned this hotel as a great place to spend our days and they weren't wrong. This hotel is amazing. The owners Kriss and Joanne are without doubt the nicest people I think I have ever met. The pool, bar area, rooms, snack bar and general areas are kept spotless. Our daughter was 8 when we were there and instantly became friends with Kriss and Jo's 3 boys, who can all speak excellent english so don't be fooled ! :) Kriss is from Rhodes and is a great chap but I have to feel really sorry for him having to put up with his wife. Joanne is from Hull, need I say anymore? She has a quick answer, an excellent sense of humour and is a good cook, mother and host. Nothing is too much trouble and she goes out of her way to be as awkward as is humanly possible but at least she smiles when she's doing it. Sorry Jo and Kriss, if you're reading this, we're coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrived at our Hotel, Very good one I must say, staff very friendly. Had a walk to the nearby beach, pebbly but it had sunbeds for hire for only 3 euros a day, on our way back from the beach, we called at a pub called the village inn, me and my girlfriend tried a full breakfast and we were both laid up for 5 days with very bad diahrea, having spoken to other people at the hotel who had eaten there, they also had bad stomachs, once bitten twice shy, to be avoided. Dispite this setback, we had a great remaining 9 days, lovely village, lots of character and found the locals very friendly, the church they have in Kremasti is beautiful well worth a visit,

all in all, enjoyed the holiday and will definatley return.

Kremasti is a beautiful Greek village. There are plenty of lovely places to eat (I especially recommend Zobras on the main street, also Grande Classico which is right in the centre of the village). We went into Rhodes city a few evenings. The bus was packed so we caught taxis - Eur10 each way. The old city of Rhodes is wonderful with lovely cobbled streets within the old city - plenty of shops and very friendly.
We stayed at the Margaret Hotel where the staff are lovely. It has a nice pool with free sunbeds. The room was fairly standard - but clean. Planes are noisy - but there are not that many and noise was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Once complaint would be noise from the bar late at night - we didn't mind but if you had young kids it might be a problem.

Kremasti is definitley suited to couples - it is a quiet relaxed place and would not suit those looking for wild night-life.

Quiet, relaxing, traditional...
We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing two weeks in Kremasti, based in the Margaret Apartments. After a busy year we were looking for a quiet place to read a few books, relax on the beach, eat out in the evenings and drink the odd glass of wine and in my opinion Kremasti is the perfect place for this. The beach, although stony, is quiet and the sun bed operators are friendly. Apart from very windy days it's perfect for swimming and you're never far from a snack bar and other facilities.

The Margaret Apartments are family run and friendly. The apartment could have done with a few more frills, including kitchen equipment and a shower curtain, but in general the staff couldn't have been nicer, particularly when we requested a change from our initially allocated small room. The new rooms by the pool are by far the best. The pool itself is large, for a hotel pool and regularly cleaned.

I really liked Kremasti. Although it's a resort, it still retains the flavour of a traditional Greek village. We arrived during the festival of the Assumption, and found Greeks from all over the island enjoying open air barbeque, craft fairs etc. When the festival finished, the village became quiet again, but most of the restaurants are well worth a visit. We particularly enjoyed Zorbas for the traditional Greek experience - lots of locals eat there - and an excellent Italian restaurant opposite George's supermarket.

Rhodes Town is 9 euro away in a taxi and stunning by day and night - lots of night life there too ifyou want to go out but can't brave Falaraki.

There were of course some downsides - although we quickly got used to the omnipresent aeroplane noise in Kremasti I could imagine it would bother some people. You'd probably have to hire a car and do some day trips if you had small children, I beleive for example the water park in Falaraki is great. And the local bus service is apalling. On several occasions we waited for up to an hour (surrounded by frustrated locals) before giving in and getting a taxi.
But over all for a quiet holiday I'd recommend Kremasti.

We have just returned from the Margaret Appartments in Kremasti and had a fabulous time.

We loved the appartments as everyone was really friendly, especially Chris, Steroids and George the barmen. They kept up entertained most nights. We laughed for the whole week. It is not the liveliest resort, but you make your own entertainment. The karaoke nights and the bbq night at the Margaret were so much fun, everyone joined in! The appartments were well enough equipped bearing in mind you are in Greece and the whole place was very clean.

The best restaurant we found was Pelekanos, the food was excellent and very very cheap.

The beach is mostly shingle, but it was lovely and cool and also very peaceful. If you are on the beach you must visit Tasos Place. He is as mad as a hatter, but great fun and his food is good.

We were warned about the planes and yes, we could hear them, but we didn't lose any sleep over them and you get so that you don't notice.

We would definitely return to this village and the friendly staff at Margaret Appartments.

Margaret Apartments/Hotel at Kremasti
Were clean and well equiped for Greece (Hot water, sink plugs and shower curtain). The owner/staff were very friendly. You will need to take your own toilet rolls. Loveley pool but you will pay 2Euros per day for a sunbed. You are directly under the flight path for all inbound planes. The noise is horrendous! You will be woken before dawn by next doors cockrel.

Kremasti is a one horse town with little to do, very expensive shops, about a dozen restaurants all keen to sell english food at rip off prices. The beach was appalling, and looked like a rubbish dump complete with ants and flies.
Rhodes-town is about 8 miles away. One Euro seventy on bus and nine Euros in a taxi. Great to look around, good beach and on a Monday and Tuesday all you can eat pizza at Pizza Hut for less than six Euros.

We have been to Rhodes and many other Greek islands before but sadly Kremasti was very dissapointing. I can think of no reason to ever return there!

The Margaret Apts, whatever the brochure says about aircraft noise, is at the beginning of the runway! The planes go over every 12 minutes, with their wheels down.. after a few days though you don't hear it too much. The people who run the Hotel are very friendly and helpful. The room was of a good size right by the pool which is also a good size. The snack bar serves the usual pizzas, spaghetti, salads, etc. Kremasti beach is not very nice, shingle and windy. The sea shelved quite quickly, so not very good for young children.

Kremasti is very small with only a few shops and Restaurants/Tavernas. Most of the restaurants are okay, with only one or two very good ones.

We hired a car for three days - you must do to see the rest of the island. Falaraki beach was lovely, you could walk out for quite a way before it became deep. The sand was clean and fine. As far as Falaraki is concerned, lovely in the daytime - but I wouldn't go there at night. Rhodes Town is beautiful - the old town having a lot of character and the new town having a lot of designer shops.

All-in-all Rhodes Island is well worth the visit - although next time I shan't be returning to Kremasti.
