my wife and i have just returned from this hotel from what was supposed to be an all inclusive package, what a complete waste of our weeks holiday.

hotel very poorly run, restaurant, poor choice of meals and nothing for presentation we ended up eating out all week as other residents did. the only useful thing about the hotel is the pilots use it to line up for the runway. kremasti and rhodes in general fantastic but keep away from this hotel as your base, its been a very expensive lesson for us, been travelling abroad for 20yrs and this is the first time experienced a week like this, so please beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Sunflower Hotel has bags of potential but in my opinion is nothing like how it is advertised on the website.

It DOES NOT have daytime or evening entertainment (except karaoke on wed and sun!), sports facilities, a kids club, a snack bar or a on site shop! You will see on their website that the snack bar is an artists impression - looks like that's all it will ever be!

The rooms are small, cramped and unclean, especially the bathrooms!

The dining room has potential but smelled like a sewer constantly. I have been on many all inclusive holidays and have never seen so little choice in food! Breakfast was runny eggs, hot dogs and beans. No fresh fruit, yogurt etc. Stale bread which was covered in flies.

Lunch and dinner were no better - fish or meat dish with one potato or rice/pasta dish! If you didn't like that there was no other choice. Dessert was ice cream and that was it!

The management were rude and unhelpful - some of the bar/reception staff tried really hard in a bad situation! The management event moved about 8 British families because they said the water and electricity were going off! We moved to an apartment complex across the road - only to discover our rooms being let to some Polish guests who had just arrived. Obviously we were complaining too much! They made us walk across a busy road with children to eat and drink!

The all inclusive bar stopped at about 10:45 pm because they wanted us to start paying at 11.00 pm!

The hotel has so much potential - it has a lovely pool and gardens and lovely reception areas. Med Hotels informed us that the food was budgetted - but when you have paid for an all inclusive holiday you don't expect to have to eat out everyday. Who wants to eat food that is cold and covered in flies?

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - especially with children. There is nothing to do around the hotel - although it looks like a water park is currently being built nearby which would help.

The Med Hotel reps were very unhelpful as well and did nothing to help our situation.

If you are British - do not go to this hotel!!

We arrived at the sunflower after being promised a";family room"; with separate bedrooms to be put in a small room with bunk beds one small wardrobe, and no space to put our luggage. After complaining we were told we had the biggest room.so we had to move our daughters to another room at the other end of the hotel.
Although we found out in the second week there was a large ";family room";.

this was an all inclusive holiday, but what a joke no snack bar during the day,if you wanted a bottle of water you had to pay,the food was discusting, blatantly recycled luckily there were some nice tavernas nearby so we mostly ate out especially the ideal who did a great English breakfast.

Drinks were given to you in small plastic cups, pool area was dirty, entertainment was twice a week, karaoke, one night, then a ";greek night"; that was the karaoke dj who got one of the kitchen staff to do a couple of dances. No childrens entertainment or gamesroom, the list could go on and on,i`m sorry i have nothing positive to say about this place, only potetially this could be a nice hotel if some money was spent to bring the rooms up to date.

Finally if you have booked the Sunflower take plenty of money, you`ll need it.

The Hotel, Sunflower is very well looked after and is spotlessly clean throughout.
The Gardens are superb .
The Staff are extremely friendly as all the people of Rhodes are.
When we stayed in May It was the beginning of the season so there was not a lot of guests. So Maybe we got more attention than usual!!.
But the Manager Nick and Katerina, Sofie, and the reception staff were always friendly and always have the time to chat.

The hotel is close to the airport and you could wave to the passengers as the planes came into land ,But it did not spoil any part of the holiday.
There is not many bars in the close proximity of the hotel but just a short taxi drive there is Kremasti Village or Illyionas which has plenty of bars and restaurants. Not forgettingb Rhodes Town which is only e8 in a taxi or e1.60 on the bus.
Do Not Be Put Of By The Closeness Of The airport.
Have A Nice Holiday.
