"Avra Beach review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Rhodes is A beautiful island we hired a car for a week and toured all the coastal resorts. The hotel is excellent, spotlessly clean with very friendly staff. The food is its strong point with excellent choice, fantastic flavour and masses available. Although they have made rudimental changes for disabled people i.e. ramps to replace steps, there are still steps without handrails and some of the ramps are too steep for a self propelled wheelchair. The bathrooms are not converted for the disabled, no walk in showers or grab rails. There were no diet soft drinks available for diabetics apart from water.
We were moved to room 18 as room 325 was unsuitable for wheelchair user, the corridor outside our room was the main thoroughfare from the restaurant to reception and the bulk of the hotel so afternoon naps were out. We felt the e50 charge to keep the room till departure (night flight) was excessive as we were entitled to food and drink anyway.
Having said all this we would still go back as the positive outweighs the negative.
