Apartments were clean and comfortable. The food served in the snack bar was very reasonably priced and of very good quality. The pool area and sunbeds were good, however, most of the party had bad rashes from the pool as the management must have put some strong chlorine or some other substance in. The blue paint on the bottom of the pool was even coming off onto our feet.

Having just returned from holiday my husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the cosmos maris. We visited quite a few places on holiday Lindos and Haraki. The area was quite quiet but it was the begining of season. We really enjoyed the Gallery Bar Restraunt exellent service and gourgous cocktails. We would return again to Rhodes as the people are really accomodating and we had a really good weeks break.

Excellent from arrival until departure. We were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome on arrival at the Cosmos Maris by George at approx 4am after a very long day travelling. The apartments and complex were spotless and we were able to organise our aircon on arrival...yes at 4am! The resort itself is a little basic but for 1.40 euro on the local bus service you can travel to Lardos (town), Pefkos or Lindos. If preferred the walk to Lardos takes about 30 minutes and we found was welcomed after a relaxing day laying either by the lovely pool area or by the sea (2 x sun beds and brolly for 7 euro). Would not recommend the walk to Pefkos as the Greek taxi drivers, mixed with the holiday rental car drivers are not a good combination when there is no pathway! Taxis too are reasonable 5 euro to return from both Pefkos and Lardos. Would seriously recommend this resort and accommodation to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday by day, away from the main resorts, but also likes a bit of life and fantastic food nearby , would recommend Lardos for the more traditional Greek feel and Pefkos for the more lively holiday resort (Enigma restaurant is excellent). Would definitely contemplate a return at some point in the future.

George and Georgina and this lovely family owned hotel will give you a great first impression!! They will work soo hard to make you happy!

The Accomodation is great, big rooms, and spotless!! We had a sea view which was fab. The bar/restaurant area is big and shaded incase you want to get out of the hot sun for a brief while. The trees and plants are well watered, making the hotel surroundings very green and attractive.

The hotel is a 2 min walk from about 5 restaurants, about 3 shops, a few bars, but Lardos (20 min walk) has the most popular restaurants in the square such as Roulas, Valentina's and the rooftop, the Old House. My husband and I found a small local, simple bar on the corner in the square, and found it to have the CHEAPEST DRINKS! Plus, he was a lovely man, wouldn't accept my money at first, and when we brought new people, we got free Ouzo! Well worth a visit! :)

The Hotel has Greek Nights, Quiz Night, and even Kareoke (sp?.)

All in all, recommend it to everyone! It's not too noisy, and if you want noisy, it's not too far to go to Lardos, Pefkos, or Lindos! 5 Euros by taxi or 1.20 for the bus (the bus schedule is very easy to read!)

HAVE FUN, and write in the guestbook at the bar! :)

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Cosmos Maris in early July and we were all very impressed with the hotel! The staff are very welcoming and helpful (particularly George and Georgina!), the rooms are spacious and always kept tidy by the excellent cleaning staff, plus the pool is clean and of a good size. Drinks and snacks are available at a reasonable price at the bar and there are many free sunbeds around the pool where you can relax during the day. There is also a computer with internet access and a large television which is sometimes switched on for sporting events. The various entertainment evenings appeared to be very popular and a lot of effort was put into preparing the Greek night.

Our rooms were perfect: spacious, light, decent beds, a good bathroom (rare in Greece!), kitchen unit, wardrobe/drawers and a balcony looking on to the pool and the sea. Only a minor issue but the air conditioning (which you pay for separately) is activated by the key to the apartment so you couldn't have it on unless you were in the room.

Think the hotel could alter its rating to three stars if something was done with the large, empty reception area and the space overlooking the pool upstairs. Regardless of that, we all found the hotel to be excellent, but there is definitely potential for it to be further improved upon if the funds become available.

Unfortunately, the resort in which we were staying was not quite as great as the hotel itself. Although strictly-speaking the hotel is in the Lardos area, it is actually located some 2km away from the main village, in a place called Lothiarika. It is not exactly the most exciting of resorts in all honesty- a few supermarkets and bars which always looked closed as well as some other hotels. The focus point of the whole area seems to be the enormous German holiday complex across the road from Cosmos Maris which looks about as un-Greek as the Germans themselves! Every night from 8 til 11pm, we would hear the same dreadful music being played in the same order at full volume from the disco at the hotel and it drove us mad!

The nearby shingle beach (five minutes down the road) isn't too bad but it is packed out with an unnecessary number of sunbeds catering predominantly for the German tourists staying in the hotel mentioned above. However, the beach is clean and there are showers available.

If you want to go out somewhere worthwhile at night, you're best bet is to visit the nearby resorts of Lardos and Pefkos. Lardos is about half an hour away on foot which is not too strenuous as the road is paved and flat. Pefkos, on the other hand, is quite a bit further and the pavement is non-existent for most of the way so getting a taxi is probably the best idea. We ordered taxis from the bar at the Cosmos Maris and they weren't particularly expensive so it's worth it! Of the two nearby resorts, Lardos is more traditional with a few tavernas and shops whereas Pefkos has a commercialised feel to it but offers more variation.

As there is not an awful lot going on in Lothiarika, it's a good idea to get a car for a few days in order to see what else Rhodes has to offer. We were surprised to discover that apart from the north east corner of the island, Rhodes is in fact very uncommercialised and much of its coastline is quiet and, in some places, deserted. Besides the almost obligatory trips to Lindos and Rhodes Old Town, it is worth going inland to visit some traditional villages such as Mesanagros and Katavia. The island is quite big (about 55 miles from one end to the other) but you can fit in more or less everything if you rent a car for three or five days. If you don't want to drive on holiday there is a bus service which is cheap and supposedly reliable- the only problem is that it stops running quite early in the evening so you could end up forking out for a long taxi journey back to the hotel!

Our Thomson rep was cheerful and often around if we needed to ask her anything.

All in all, the Cosmos Maris is a great place to go for families or couples of any age and you are sure to enjoy your stay there! However, whilst I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel, the resort is not up to much so be prepared to pay for taxis if you want to do anything other than sit by the pool.

We arrived at the Cosmos Maris and were greeted by George, who is a lovely man as is all his family who make you feel very welcome.
The hotel is clean and the bar and pool area are excellent.

On a Tuesday they have a Greek night, well worth going to. The only thing missing from this hotel is a bit of entertainment.
Lardos is not what I expected. I was expecting quiet, but not this quiet, granted it was the start of the season.
Go to The Good Heart, the food is excellent and the staff are wonderful.
You can walk into Lardos but it's a good 40 min walk. Get a taxi only 5 Euros and the staff at the hotel are happy to call a taxi for you.

We venturned into Pefkos a couple of times, a bit more going on there. Along the main road there is a cocktail bar, I cant remeber the name but it's down some very big steps! You can miss it. Cheap drinks, brill music and the staff a brilliant. Again you can get a taxi here for abot 6 Euro.
Go into Lindos if you can only a couple of Euro on the bus and also take a trip into the Old Town it's a hour and a half bus journey but worth it.

Wouldnt go to Lardos again. Far too quiet for us, I hate to admit this but we were actually looking forward to coming home as we were getting bored! Good holiday for chilling out, which i what we wanted, but maybe this place is a little too chilled out!

We booked this as a last minute and had the most relaxing time. George and his mother Georgina were more than welcoming, and made us feel at home from the minute we got there.

The apartments were extremely clean with maid service everyday!! - However your towels and linen only get changed twice a week.

The pool and bar area are great - really relaxed and friendly - it is really clean and has a childrens pool.

The hotel itself is outside of the main village - Lardos Village. It is a 30-40 min walk or 5 euros in a taxi. lardos Village has three main restaurants all of which provide lovely food at reasonable prices - two courses and drink approx 30 euros.
All in all its quiet an laid back dont be put off with the 2 star rating- it is far more than that more liklely a 3.

Have a good time!

the apartments were v clean and tidy, the hotel swimming pool was large and clean(although the coldest pool ive ever been in!)the studios are in whats called the lardos beach area, as we went at the end of oct it was very quiet indeed i doubt it gets that busy in peak season as there is about 8 or 9 restraunts in the whole place and a few bars.perfect if you want a relaxing holiday but could be too quiet if you want a lively hol.we walked to lardos village a couple of times(takes 20-30 min)and pefkos once which took 45 mins.

The food at the restraunts was v good especially flava di casa in lardos beach and the rooftop restraunt in lardos village we had 1 dissapointing meal which was at Dimitras restraunt near the studios we stayed at.We didnt rate the beach highly if you want a beach travel 1/2 way to pefkos along the coast road you will find a lovely small sandy beach there.

Overall we had an excellent weeks hol weather was fantastic the whole time we were there and the place itself was very relaxing and we are planning to visit this resort again in future.
