"Lindos Gardens, Lindos"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed for 2 weeks in October 2009 and would definitely go back. The rooms were very basic but that's what you expect in Greece, especially self catering. They were cleaned every day and we were given new towels and bedding at least twice each week. The staff are really friendly and reception is manned 24 hours on Weds & Sats when flights are arriving and departing. There are two adult pools and three childrens pools, all very clean and well maintained. Air con did seem expensive at the time but was well worth it with having a small child in the room. However, the heat wasn't overbearing with it being late in the season so you may be able to get away with not paying for it. Safety deposit boxes are available which are well worth the money. The average bar meal prices were about 8 euros but the centre of Lindos is only a ten minute walk away so there is plenty of choice. There are also two supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. Having a toddler daughter, we were a bit concerned by the reviews about how hilly the resort is and how the accommodation itself is built into the hillside but to be honest you get used to it after a few days and it's only a few minutes' hard work at a time. Would definitely recommend taking a pushchair though! The only thing we weren't very happy about was that there was only one highchair at the pool bar!

"Lindos Gardens"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We loved our 2 week stay at Lindos Gardens it is in an ideal location at the top of the hill to Lindos village so its the nearest place you can stay to the village that has a pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the air con was 45euros per week, drinks in the bar were 3.40 for a large beer to 5euros for a long drink (with a very large measure!). We stayed half board but you can pay for breakfast 9euros per day or 6euros if you have 3 or more days. well worth the money as its all you can eat buffet with english fry up, fruit cocktail, toast, cakes, muesli as well as different juices and teas. The evening meals were fabulous although it was a set menu so we ate out on the nights we didnt fancy it. They do for example to start a greek salad, then starters of stuffed peppers/tomatoes, then moussaki or souvlaki then dessert. we were stuffed every night! They have a free fruit buffet on a friday night followed by a band called Touché who were a bit cheesy. On Monday they have a bbq & Karaoke but thats about it for entertainment. The 5 pools were all exceptionally clean and nice and you can order bar snacks/drinks to eat beside them. Our room was up a steep slope then into a lift for the final 3 floors which didnt always work so not really suitable for older people or anyone with trouble walking! But it did have a fabulous view of the acropolis. The maids came every day to clean and make the beds, the kitchen had a basic hob with utensils. They also had internet in the bar 50c for 5 mins.

"Lindos Gardens"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed in the middle block halfway up the hill adjacent to the inifinty pool. The rooms were basic but nicely furnished but due to having dark metal doors and no blackout blinds were very hot a night (and very sunny at 5am!) Unfortunatley the Air con is 69Euro per week which we thought given the current exchange rate a bit expensive. The kitchenette had a fridge, kettle and two rings and basic utensils. Because Lindos is one of the more expensive resorts it would have been nice to have been able to make breakfasts / lunch in the apt but we were limited due to its simpleness. I know not everyone wants to cook on holiday but at 9euro per person for a small breakfast in the hotel and an average of 45E for a 2 course meal and ltr of wine for two people, it would come in handy. The maid and porterage service was second to none and the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel hires out laptops for you to use in your apt or by the pool as it has wireless internet. The location is at the top of the main entrance to Lindos adjacent to the Lindos Horizon studios and the Eleni apts. All are a good 10 minute walk up the steep hill from Lindos. The drinks bar and main bar charge around 4E per pint of local beer and 4.5e to 5.5e for a long drink. Prices in Lindos town are the same as it is a major day tripper stop off. Honestly if you want good package holiday to Lindos there are only really about 5 main hotels to choose from with everything else being small boutique style or major 5 star out in the hills. For me if I was to return I would look at Lindos Gardens or Horizons or up a notch at Lindos Blu and Lindos Mare.

Overall Hotel Rating:
The apartment was basic but had everything you required. The reception and bar area was very modern stylish and clean. The staff were all very friendly. Our apartment was slightly new at the higher end of the complex overlooking the infinity pool and the views of the acropolis and the sea was spectacular.
The walk up to the top apartments was steep and would not suit everyone.
Our apartment location was at the top end of the complex, we felt that this was better than those adjacent to reception and certainly was the case on karaoke/event evenings.
Air conditioning is available at an extra cost of 11 euros per day or 63 euros per week.
Late check out was also available at an extra cost of about 3 euros per hour up until 10pm.

"What a hoilday"
Overall Hotel Rating:
lindos gardens is the best hotel i have ever stoped in. I was on my honeymoon and we was there for a week . The apartmeants where really nice the swimming pools where excellent and the staff where great. Lindos it self was really nice as well and the sea was nothing i have seen before. The only down side is the price for food and drink was high but it makes up for it in stunning views and friendly people.

"Lindos Gardens"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Lovely complex of apartments that were spread out over a large area clinging to the side of a steep hill. In temparatures of more than 40 degrees it felt like a cliff face! There is a lift that takes you some of the way up but if you struggle getting around you would need to let them know that you need a room nearer the ground floor. Staff were all very pleasant. Our water went off twice but as soon as we let them know it was sorted. Prices for drinks and food were quite high and on the day we left the air con charge rose from 49 euros for the week to 69 euros for the week. Have to say that although our room was in the highest block the view was stunning as we overlooked the Acropolis. To walk onto the balcony each morning and see it was fantastic. They held a BBQ night which we didnt attend but we did go to the Friday fruit buffet. For 4 euros you got 2 souvlaki, tomato, pitta and tzatziki and then a complementary fruit buffet with entertainment from Fillipo. There were enough pools and sun loungers to go round but I wouldnt know if this would still be the case at the busiest times of July and August. I would definitely stay there again as apart from the prices I couldn't fault the place.

"HAPPY HOLS IN LINDOS"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just arrived back from Lindos Gardens after 2 weeks. A lovely place to stay, owners, staff, &c very friendly and helpful. Weather perfect, a bit too hot in the second week but we cooled off in the infinity pool (perfect), which also had a bar. The bar and snack bar in reception were very comfortable with friendly staff. The snacks a bit ordinary, burgers, omelettes, &c. The usual karaoke and BBQ on Fridays with free fruit buffet on Mondays. The hill into Lindos Village was pretty steep and we thought quite dangerous - the mad taxi drivers who do not give enough room when passing pedestrians - so we tended to catch the free bus during the day and at night used the road from the Lindos Reception Bar. Very handy for supermarkets (3), two restaurants (both good) and the bus stop was just outside the Flora Supermarket at the top of the hill, so quite easy to hop on the bus to Rhodes or go further down the coast to Pefkos (a lot cheaper prices there)! We went on the Greek Night (thought it was a rip-off), also on the Jeep Safari (quite good but not a patch on the one in Crete last year), also a bit expensive (about £50 each). If you go to Symi make sure you are not sailing on the Ferry Boat, it just isn't the same as arriving at this beautiful island on a smaller boat - just not the same atmosphere!

Overall Hotel Rating:
When we arrived we got taken in a taxi to our hotel and it didn't cost us because olympic were paying. The taxi driver let us stop and take pictures on the mountain side of lindos town which was absolutly gorgeous. We got to our apartments and they were very clean, very basic which we like and the weather was wonderful. Lindos town is gorgeous and i recommend you eat at a restaurant called mythos, which is were my auntie had her reception for her wedding because this was why we came to rhodes in the forst place for a wedding. Mythos has lovely food lovely people that work they and they can gaurantee you a good night! I also recommened a trip to St Pauls Bay! which is where my aunties wedding was and it is absolutly beautiful! Although the apartments bar was a bit expensive it was still a brilliant holiday and the gorgeous barman Nicos made it that bit special! All the staff are helpful and kind! because it was end of season we had a big pool party on the last day which was so much fun! that was probably one of the best days of the holiday because the weather wasn't to nice that day but a smile was put on eveyones faces! All i all a brilliant holiday!

"Lindos Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We have just returned from our third stay at Lindos Gardens. It just gets better every year.
The new infinity pool at the top of the complex is very nice with an amazing view, and with a pool side bar up there as well makes things even better, Our studio was very close to the top pool which was great although a bit of a hike (there is a lift part of the way up) but we prefer to be up there because the view of the bay and acropolis is breathtaking. Vassilis and Valentina are always very helpful and welcome you to their complex (of which they work hard at every year to make even better) this year there were new staff all very good but I must mention Nickos the handsome barman and Nicki the English barmaid who was very friendly. The rooms we have stayed in have always been very nice and clean, basic but this is Greece, and although it is self catering I do not want to cook so it is enough for us. The Fruit night is always very good and this year they had a live band that was not too bad. The B.B.Q night is also a must with again this year an added attraction ";Karaoke"; From our first visit in 2004 so much more has been done to make your holiday enjoyable.
Lindos itself is just the best place I have ever been. Can't say enough about it. Also a must go to Pefkos and go to the Eclipse Bar this is out of this world. 2 big bars a pool with fountains we only went there in our last few days or we would have gone more times. All the restaurants we went too the food was very good I think you have to try as many as you can too many too mention. The bars we liked were 60's bar, Dreams bar, Court Yard bar.
I must go now as I am depressing myself only been back 3 days and can't wait to go again, I will just have to keep looking at the photos. Happy holiday.

"Lindos Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We were inspired by the good reviews on this site, but not sure about the mention of the hills! This is definately Not the place to go for the very elderly or infirm. We had one of the new apartments right at the top. We arrived at 04.45 and it was very hot even then. The air con is ?63 pw and you do need it, But make sure that you mention this on arrival, my friend and I got into our appartment after a mammoth climb, only to find that the air con works with the fuses in. My poor friend had to walk all the way back down and back up again. he views were amazing though and well worth the long climb.
Lindos town is a beautiful place, very steep in places and flat shoes are deffintately needed. Alex's is a fab place to eat but our favourite was Ambrosia, we had wonderful food and a very good banter with the owner and head waiter. Supermarkets just round the corner, turn to the right out of Lindos Gardens for the one with the better selection.
I would go back there, but its for adults, there is nothing for young children to do.

"Lindos Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just arrived back yesterday and having booked a late minute deal for my sister and I using this site as reference I thought I really should add comments!
I would have no hesitation in recommending Lindos Gardens to others.
We were lucky as our room was 1 of the newer rooms which is further up the hill and has fantastic views over the bay and Acropolis. I would recommend trying to get a newer room if possible as they are considerably nicer. On the whole we used the top pool as it was quieter with less childer (sorry but we wanted to relax!) and it also has wonderful views.
There is a huge variety of places to eat however our favourite was a fantastic Italian called Casa Della Pizza which has just been taken over by an Italian couple who are very passionate about good food. I have to say its some of the best pizza and pasta we have eaten plus they make their own Lemoncello. Take a right just past the donkey station and you can't miss it!! Others which I feel I should mention are Giorgios for lunch with a smile, Ambrosia for good food and service in lovely surroundings and Jello Blu for great Baclava with strong coffee (yum). I would not recommend MedEast which is on the way down the hill on the right as they charged us extra for paying with a travellers chq and when we tried to pay with visa instead found out that they don't accept this either! Not something we expected in a tourist resort.
Lindos itself is very pretty with no cars outwith the main square. There are some lovely shops however also far too many which sell the same tourist tat! I would also suggest checking around before you buy as prices do vary.
The last thing I will mention is that you should check out the trave agents in Lindos for trips before you book with the tour guides. From experience on this trip and others they are the same trips however cheaper!
I could write much more but would only bore you so in summary we had a great time, great food and friendly people. I would recommend Lindos Gardens and Lindos. Oh yeh and apologies to those of you who spot the poor spelling I've missed, lol.

"Lindos Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Overall I would 100% recommend Lindos Garden Studios and Lindos itself.
The Studios - they are quite basic but have everything you need, are clean, have a good bar and lovely pool. The towels were changed twice during our week's holiday but the maids cleaned the rooms all bar one of the days (and they don't come too early either!).
There's a supermarket within 3 mins walk and the town is about 10 mins walk. During the first couple of days we couldn't understand why people had been moaning about the hills, but by the end of the week we totally understood and never wanted to walk up another hill!
Lindos - We went to a different restaurant every night, apart from Caesars which we went back to on our last night as it was our favourite - lovely food, atmosphere and staff. All the meals were lovely, but Mythos was our least favourite. Acropolis was our second favourite.
There are a number of bars, many of which you can sit outside at a lot of the bars which we liked to do. We went to Yannis bar a few times, Red Rose and Georgios. We went into Museum Bar but left quite rapidly after being confronted by a very rude barmaid which didn't know what Rum was and got very agressive!
The main beach was lovely - clean and not too packed. The sea was crystal clear and nice and refreshing. St Paul's bay was very picturesque but we were slightly disappointed by it (and the poo and glass on the beach was a put off somewhat!).
The glass bottom boat from Lindos Beach is only 10 euros each and well worth going on.
Rhodes - We hired a car for three days and went to Prasonisi, Monolithos Castle, Tsambika Bay, Seven Springs, the Water park and Rhodes Town. Prasonisi was lovely, but don't expect to walk to the end of the cape as it goes on for a long way! Monolithos Castle was good, Tsambika Bay was lovely, Seven Springs was different (and you must walk through the 200m tunnel!), the water park was good fun, and Rhodes town was a little disappointing (and a nightmare to drive in!).
All in all, Lindos is a great place to go to for a relaxing holiday at a lovely resort, with a fair amount of nightlife (but not rowdy) and enough on the Island to explore. 10 days would have been just the right amount of time to go for.
Lindos Garden Studios are in a great location, have every thing you need and have pleasant staff.

"Lindos Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just back form two weeks in Lindos. Although the apartments were small and basic they were clean and the pool and bar area was impressive. Maid service was regular although the towels were not changed often, only three times in two weeks and one of the times we had to ask. The staff at Lindos gardens were very helpful, the manager even gave us a loan of money after we arrived only to find out the cash lines were empty and the banks were on strike! They also have a karaoke night and 10euros will also get you your dinner for the night via the BBQ which was well worth the money. The also hold a free fruit night, there is a good atmopshere in the bar area which seemed to stay open on last man standing basis. Bar area is very modern and recently done up. You do have to be early for the sunbeds, If like us your not by the pool for 10am you might struggle, there is a smaller pool (baby pool) and we always good beds at that.
Lindos is lovely although I would leave the high heels at home, the hill to the town is quite a journey with no real pavements, its steep and very busy and quite a journey back up after a heavy meal! There is a free bus that runs between 9am and 3pm that will take you down and back up the hill, they run every ten miniutes although we always walked it so not sure how reliable it was. We used taxis twice at night time to go back up the road, it only cost 4Euros.
Food is excellent, I would recommend Alex's, the Accropolis and Mythos/Della Pizza restaurant, expect to pay around 60 Euro, that was two courses each, btl of wine andbtl of beer. You can eat out much cheaper if you just want a basic meal. The pubs have plenty of sport but little entertainment, there is two main night clubs but we didn't visit.
I would recommend you hire a car if you are staying for 2weeks as it might otherwise get a bit boring, or I would take the coach trips on offer. May I addd that the roads are a bit crazy, I would drive with care. I wouldn't recommend the water park in Falaraki, it's 20Euros per person for very little rides, majority of which need rubber rings that there is just not enough off, there are queues for rings then more for the rides themselves. You also have to pay a euro each time you use your locker, which if you are wanting to get cash for drink or food, it can be a real pain. ( In cyprus they scan your wrist band for food and drinks and you pay on the way out)
Lindos seemed a mixture of family and couples of all ages, maybe not for thoose looking for a wild holiday, maybe more of a couples and family holdiay resort.
We both would go back to Lindos Gardens without a doubt and would recommend it!

"Lindos Gardens review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This was possibly one of the best holidays we have been on.
Lindos Gardens is situated about ten minutes walk from Lindos centre and up a hill, this isn't unmanageable though I managed to push a wheelchair up the hill however did get a taxi from Lindos Square which is only 4 euros on a couple of occasions.
There is a couple of supermarkets a couple of minutes away from Lindos Gardens which stock almost anything you need. The apartments I cannot fault they are clean and the furniture is new.The maids also come daily. We did have a problem with ants in the room but all the staff did their best to rectify the problem. The air conditioning is a must as it was around 50 degrees and well worth the 63 euros a week. All the staff are friendly and do their best to call you by name and always make an effort to talk to you especially valentina, vasilos, meera and Marios. We had one night where our power cut out at 1.30 am but vasilos called the electrician straight away and he was here and had it fixed within 20 minutes, and the electrician actually apologised profusely to us (imagine that in England at 1.30 am).
The Olympic rep Kate was always polite and ready to chat and offer advice and is also game for a laugh she also doesn't put any pressure on you to go on Olympic excursions although we did book a few.The apartments are a little on the expensive side for food and drink however its better than the walk into town and is always nice. Lindos Gardens has 3 pools which were always clean and not overcrowded. We managed to get a bed most days no matter what time we arrived.
We did not go to Lindos main beach but did venture out to St Pauls bay beach. The beach is rather small but its really nice. There is a small church situated in the bay and most afternoons you can watch weddings take place. The water in the bay is crystal clear and great for swimming.
We went on a few excursions but the best by far was the jeep safari. A great way to see the island. The guides also keep you entertained. They also take you to a fantastic secluded beach where you get turtles nesting where you have lunch at a beach hut made by the guides entirely from stuff washed up on the sand as for the rest of the tour you will just have to go on it and see you will not be dissapointed. When you go into Lindos do take the advice and don't wear heels because the streets are uneven and steep in places, another word of advice is the cobbled streets are very slippy in places due to wear from the donkeys. I wore flat shoes and still managed to slip onto my bottom in the middle of a crowded street much to my embarrassment.
We ate at lots of restaurants and the only one I would say do not eat at was the Mexican. The food was expensive and the portions tiny. The best restaurants were stefanys, dionysis and Alex's. The staff at Alex's were paticularly friendly and despite only eating there once everytime we passed after that the staff came out to talk to us especially Chris and the Italian Waitress whom I cannot remember her name. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return especially to Lindos Gardens.
