The best thing about the Lindos View, is the view ! If you dont mind being on the main road, near the coach park, donkey pound and next to the stone masons. In a good location for walking into Lindos and a little further down to the beaches. The communal areas are very pleasant, but unfortunately we had one of the most scruffy rooms I have ever had to endure, despite booking with Thomsons. The apartments furniture and fittings were very tatty, a number of things didn't work properly and the room was full of insects. We moved to another room after a sleepless night and this room was much the same(minus the insects), but had the benefit of fantastic views of the Acopolis and out to sea. The poor apartment spoilt our holiday, especially as we discovered others who had paid the same, were in lovely smart rooms.

Lindos is best visited as a day tripper, which we noticed is what many visitors to Rhodes actually did. We found things quite expensive, clearly aimed at ripping off the Acopolis day trippers, but this is peferential to being ripped off for two weeks. Proba...

Booked with Thomsons, and stayed 2 weeks on a self catering basis, but didn't do any cooking as we intended to dine out in Lindos every night. The hotel is an exellent position, overlooking the Acropolis, and only a 10 minute stroll into the town, althoughb it is steep, and even steeper coming back up!There is a free bus however from the top to the main square, and back again though we never felt the need to use it.The hotel itself is more than adequet, though I would say food and drink is quite expensive compared to other places(Ipaid 6.40 euros for a pint and a half of beer)The two pools are clean, though can be a bit crowded, and the sun beds could do with replacing, as they are worn and uncomfortable. The rooms are large and clean when we arrived, and towels and bed sheete are changed daily except Sundays.I don't think the rooms were cleaned too much after though during our stay, but I suppose if you make a mess, then its your to clean up. What can I say about Lindos that has not already been said.It is a special place that most of the reviewers have mentioned. There is an abundance of restaurants and bars, and they all come alive at night. Most have roof gardens with great views of the Acropolis and the town, so its great people watching in the other places. Our favourite bars in no particular order were Lindos By Night, Courtyard Bar and Rainbird. Also Skala on Small Beech who do a fab barbeque on Mondays, though do make sure you book it (15 euro for as much as you can eat) There are places to eat a plenty, and ones we enjoyed were Ceasars, Medeast, Mythos and the restaurant in the Lindos View itself. One word about the donkeys who trundle up the steep incline to the Acropolis, please don't go on them, particularly if you are heavy lumps. We walked up early one morning when its cooler, and its not that difficult a climb, just take your time. All in all a fantastic place to go, and one of our best holidays.

We arrived in Lindos on a warm Wednesday afternoon. We were immediately shown to our room and were totally taken a-back by everything. The apartment isn't huge but it's really modern: master bedroom with bath!, smallish balcony, television, full glass partition between us and the children's bedroom with two single beds. There is also a large full length curtain to close off the two rooms. The kitchen area is again not huge but clean and practical, with kitchen wash basin and another wash basin. There is a toilet and a shower room. The shower room has a choice of normal hose shower or ceiling shower with plenty of hot water. The lighting in the shower room changes colour slowly - relaxing and classy! Our rooms were kept very clean by the lovely Haroula who had a continous smile. The foyer and reception area are spotless and the staff absolutely wonderful - nothing is too much trouble. There is a games' room downstairs and toilets and showers. The roof restaurant is excellent and so too is the poolside bar/bar meals. We attended a Greek night with food and were all four well pleased with the food and the entertainment! Our children loved the Karaoke though I kinda got fed-up with 'Valerie' by the end! The pools are clean and we never had any problems getting loungers even though we very rarely appeared by the pool before 11am. However, needless-to-say, there were the odd few families who insisted on draping towels over a number of the sun-beds and turn up even later than we did! I find this sort of behaviour childish and uncalled for - but there we go, this seems to be a real Brit trend these days! The 'town' of Lindos is lovely, with narrow streets meandering all over the side of the hill between the hotel and the beach. We found the price of food varying quite a lot and were very glad to finally find an unpretentious small Greek restaurant called Mario's in the town . This was definitely not overpriced and the owner/waiter was very genuine and the food very good too. [This is Mario's not Maria's and is next to the Giannis/Yannis bar in the town.] The beach is great, gentle shelving sands into a very safe bay of warm water - fabulous. We also went to Tsambika Beach, a large sandy beach north of Lindos, and Glystra beach, small, but sandy and welcoming to the south. Rhodes Town is well worth a visit and the children enjoyed the Water Park near Faliraki. We will definitely be back at the Lindos View! An extremely friendly, comfortable and clean hotel.

Before we left, the two children [13 and 11] asked whether we can return again next year. Both my wife and i immediately said yes. What more can we say!

What a place to stay, with fantastic views of the Acroplis. We arrived at 4am in the morning and we found the bar open. Accomodation was very clean and extremley comfortable. The kitchen had 2 electic rings with a kettle, toaster and fridge with ice box, which was enough for us as we ate most of the time. All the staff were great, with nothing being too much trouble for them. We had a small leak from the air conditioning unit, which was fixed within 10 minutes of reporting it. The room was cleaned very day except Sunday and the linen and towels changed every time. The one site resturant provided excellent meals. However, you must try some of the roof top resturants in Lindos Village. The journey back up to the accomodation was steep, however we used a taxi from the main square,as it was only 4 Euros a time.
