After booking a short notice holiday, i visited this site to see other reviews on this property. We finally got to the property 12hrs late, but thats another story!!!.
The apartments are split into blocks, with the older original block by the reception/bar area.Earlier reviews are right about the older apartments being a bit old and tired and yes our luck had it that we were allocated one of these!,luckily due to it probably being early or not many people being there,we were able to move to another apartment, which was one of the newer one`s.If you get allocated a newer property you will have a great holiday, but it`s what you make of it anyway is`nt it!.
Marietta,Michael make you feel welcome and the pool is great ti take a dip, was 30 degrees when we visited. The apartments (newer ones),are for greece not badly appointed, fridge, hot plate, glasses, cups, etc you even get a shower curtain!!,(never had one in any other greek property).Take a short stroll down the street and you come to the village, dont expect a holiday location, this is greece as it should be!.There is a few dedicated restaraunts, but mainly cafe bars frequented by the locals.Try the Piazza on the corner or the Massa Grande, both places are good value and food is great.Taxi fares from the airport were 14 Euros and to Rhodes Town cost was the same, Falaraki was 11 Euros.
Overall if you have kids this might not be your kind of place due to its quiteness, but if you want a break away from the crowd, this is the place to be.

Further to the last review I have to agree about the accommodation. Unfortunately I was originally placed in Studio 22. It is old, tired and opposite the bar and I was able to get little sleep on the first week. With only a small shutter for ventilation paying the 80 euros for air conditioning was essential. Fortunately our rep was very helpful and both I and my parents who were in another studio were moved on the second week and we had a nice quiet week. Note though, that the older studios are not really that equipped for self catering, a small jug for boiling water, a large pot and an old frying pan. Plus limited cutlery. You will also only get one towel so make sure you take additional towels and flannels /tea towel etc.
Rhodes itself is beautiful and we spent many days wandering around the old town. Also take the trip to Symi. Lindos should not be missed nor should the cross at Filerimos. I also ate to many doughnuts and there is an excellent bakery and cake shop in Pastida. Its also worth going to the Taverna in the square, freshly cooked food and friendly service.
As mentioned in other reviews, Marietta and Michalis are very friendly and accomodating, this makes it difficult to complain if you have any problems.

As mentioned in other reviews, Marietta and Michalis are very friendly and accomodating, this makes it difficult to complain if you have any problems.
There are two types of accomodation, the new side, to the right of the pool when looking from the street and the old side, to the left.
If you are fortunate to get a new appartment, the holiday will be very good.
But I was not that lucky, I received an old apartment, that is why I have rated it as poor.
Accomodation is basic, old and tired, room 15 is the worst on the complex, it also gets infested with ants, so no chance of keeping food in your cupboard.
Air conditioning is poor, it takes a long time to cool the room and there is only 1 unit per apartment, so if you have 2 rooms, the poor person sleeping in the other room will be very hot.
I felt that cleaning wasn't as often as needed.
Due to not being able to flush toilet paper away, you must put it into a bin in the bathroom. Cleaning is 3 times a week, which means it was 2 days worth of smelly paper and 3 days (makes 3 times).
There is a resteraunt in Kremasti (6 euros by taxi), if going from Pastida area, turn left at the triangle in Kremasti and on your left hand side sits a rather posh and expensive looking resteraunt called the Cafe Classico.
Staff are very friendly. Portions are huge.
I'd recommend a Greek Plate at 6.50 euros (enough for 2) and a Creme Brulee at 3.00 euros (also enough for 2). I went there 5 times, the waiters would smile and say hello and bring our drinks, they remembered what we had.

Happy to see Airtours have stated in brochures that air conditioning is payable locally too.
Perfect location for a chilled out break, and the home cooking is fabulous.
Recommended to anyone wanting to relax, feed and re-fresh.

I have recently returned from an absolutely fantastic holidays in Pastida with our hosts Marietta and Mikalis at the Marietta apartments. The whole family make you feel home from and home and enhance your holiday no end. Nothing is too much hassle, great food and drink which is excellent value for money as well as comfortable, clean accommodation. This is the place to visit wheter you fancy a relaxing break (small complex but with pool and jacuzzi) or bit lively (Falaraki and Rhodes Town and Ixia just a short hop by taxi or local bus!)
I will visit time and time again but will always book direct it is a lot more cost effective and can be booked directly or throufgh their web site. Rhodes town (old and new!) are both well worth a visit as to is Lindos with its magnificent views, good restaurants and nice beach.

We arrived in Rhodes on the 25th June and after all the usual hassle of the airport we were greeted by the owner of Marika,s Vangelis who came to pick us up (myself wife + daughter)this service was FREE of charge. He took us the 5 mile journey to Pasdida in his own car, which got the holiday of to a good start.
The Appts.were very clean and well furnished with air con which was a blessing in the very hot tempratures. There is 8 appts (ground floor)leading directly on to the pool sleeping 3-5 people above these are 8 studios sleeping 2.On site which is quite small is a taverna and Pub the taverna has Sat TV and Playstation which keep the kids ammused at night
The Village of Pasdida which is a 30 second walk away is out of this world a small assortment of tavernas bars it is totally Greek and the locals are so friendly you feel as if you have lived there all your life Taverna Georgiadis right on the crossroads is extra special the owner George is so helpful that nothing is to much trouble.
If you require a Taxi to Falaraki(4miles)it,s no problem chances are he will give you a lift there himself.Vangelis arranges car hire(at cheep rates)he will also scooter hire if you require it.There is a good bus servise to all parts of the island from the village. If you fancy a day out in Rhodes Town aBus would be your best bet we took the car and spent over an hour to find a space to park and then we had a twenty minute to get to the town centre.
Anyway back to Marika,s as i have said it is owned and run Vangelis and on hand to help was his wife Marika(yes it is named after her)and their son Stavos. The pool is quite a fair size and the sun loungers are free there is a good size lawn round the pool so you have plenty of space to spread out threr is also a large lawn to the front of the Appts.with lime trees so if you fancy lime in your lemonade just go help yourself.
All in allwe had such a lovely time that we have booked up for 4 weeks next year,i can in all honesty that it has been the best holiday we have hadin Greece considering that we have been to greece 11 times that says something ROLL ON NEXT YEAR

Marietta Apts stand in a very quiet location a short walk from the village centre of Pastida. The apartment complex is very small and intimate, and the eight or so apartments that face the pool offer the best views-if you are lucky enough to get one of these. There is a small indoor bar area which is very nice but we found it way too hot to sit in there as there is no air conditioning. There is also a nicely laid out eating area in front of the bar next to the pool and the meals we had there were very good. The apartments are family run and Marietta in particular goes out of her way to be friendly and hospitable and my son Joseph, who is four, fell head over heels in love with her! In fact she is very popular and well liked by all the guests.
Air conditioning in the rooms is a must in the middle of summer (we had daily temps of 45c in the sun,and it didnt drop much below 30 at night)and it costs about 6 euros per day.The only problem is that every time you leave your apartment you have to switch the electrics off-which of course includes the air conditioning. Either that or leave your front door unlocked because the electrics key which is on the same ring as the front door key cannot be removed from the electrics switch unless it is in the off position. We would have preferred to leave the air conditioning on because the apt was always mad hot when we got back and it took a while for the air con to take effect after being switched back on.
It is only a five minute walk-past the local bakery-into the village centre, which has a couple of cafe-bars,a nice Greek restaurant and a couple of small but well stocked supermarkets. There is also a sports bar where they have a large screen tv. If you walk in the other direction past the pharmacy you come to another bar which has a large screen tv playing music videos and then across the road a nice Italian restaurant;-Masse Grande. The food here is really good and the pizzas are MASSIVE but if you cant finish one you get it boxed up to take home with you!. Next to Masse Grande is another bar which has a small kids play area at the side.
And thats about it in Pastida, there is not much to do but as we go on holiday to relax it suited us fine, and the village does have a really nice atmosphere. In fact the village centre is that small that you get to know quite a few of the local people just by seeing them going about their business during the day and then at night sat in the local cafes and the Greek restaurant. If you like unspoilt and uncommercial then this is it!.

We found the Marietta apartments to be very basic compared to Spanish ones, but were informed that this was the norm. The brochure said that a minimal fee would be charged for air conditioning, the minimal fee was 6 euros a day which works out 84 euros (around £50) for 14 nights and we had booked 2 rooms! The complex itself was lovely, a nice pool, dining and bar area. Marietta, Michael and staff were always very friendly and obliging.
We hired a car throught the rep but later discovered that Marietta could've got one for us at half the price. We managed to get around all of the island and its beautiful sites. Lindos is lovely but I would warn anyone planning to climb up to the acropolis to wear something sturdy on their feet as we found the cobbles to be very slippery. Ancient Kamiros is also worth a visit, a beautiful site. Our favourite was Prassonissi beach right at the bottom of the island where the Agean and Med meet a wonderful sight and beach.
A taxi from Pastida to Rhodes costs around 11 euros but the drivers will try and charge you more. The local bus costs 1 euro 70 cents and only takes around 35 mins. Rhodes old town is definately worth a visit.
A word of warning about booking through the rep, children over 11 are charged adult prices. We booked the castaway cruise (166 euros) described in the resort brochure as ";Sun and fun, food and drink, games and sports"; My compliant to the rep was about the food and drink part of the brochure. DRINK IS NOT INCLUDED in the price and the taverna at Stegna where they hold the barbeque charge 2 euros for a bottle of water, which would normally cost only 50cents! Also if you do pay adult price for your children make sure they recieve adult portions, as it is a Greek lady who hands out the plates and decides on how much food the children should get.
Overall we had a fantastic time on holiday and I would certainly consider going back to the Marrietta Aparthotel in the future. The home cooked food was fantastic, and the friendliness of the people unbelievable even in the village.
