Summer Memories Reviews

We've stayed at these apartments several times over the past few years. The level of service and standard of room as always been consistent. Very clean apartments, pleasant bar, (excellent snacks during the day and drinks flowing into the early hours) and swimming pool all run by a very kind and caring family. Apartments are located centrally in Pefkos, with shops, bars and restaurants all within easy reach, but with minimal or no traffic noise from your apartment. Would never hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone.

We have just arrived back from the Summer Memories in Pefkos. We had a great time and found the accommodation to be very good. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with was on the third floor. The apartment consisted of one twin room and one double room, 2 air conditioning units – one in double room and other in main living area, fridge, kettle, bathroom which was very small and had the usual shower which sprays everywhere. There were a few utensils but could have done with more. The rooms were quite basic but very clean. Location was great very central for all the bars and restaurants. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away, turn left at Pefkos By Night bar. Was a small bay and was usually fairly peaceful. Sea was lovely and clear and warm.

Cannot comment on the swimming pool at Summer Memories as it was always crowded and we could not get 4 sunbeds. We found another pool next door the Blue Waves where there were always sunbeds available. The staff at the Blue Waves were very friendly and welcoming and snacks were good.

We only really used the bar at Summer Memories in the evening after our meals. The staff there were all lovely. Stavros behind the bar is very friendly and he sounds like a mixture of Greek and Mancunian he is always up for a chat with you. George his brother and Vasillis his dad were also very friendly and welcoming.

We had a great holiday and would recommend the Summer Memories.

Stayed here August 2008 in studio 42. Good size studio with bathroom and smallish but adequate shower cubicle. Rooms cleaned & linen changed regularly throughout our 2 week stay. Air con extra at 55 euro per week. Good size pool and usually able to get beds most days as people tended to go to the beautiful beach a lot. The owners were more than friendly, we felt that they genuinely cared for all of their guests. Stavros ran the bar most evenings and organized the quiz and karaoke which most of the guests took part in. There was a very friendly atmosphere here among all the guests, everybody seemed to mix and get on so well. (I think the friendliness of the owners rubbed off!)Some of the people we met had stayed here on several occasions and we can see why. (If I can arrange it I will be staying here 2009 too!) We have stayed in the Matina & Stella Apts in Pefkos, and while the apartments were very good, they lacked atmosphere. The apartments are in a good location, right in the centre of Pefkos, though they were nice and quiet at night so you were able to get a good sleep. I would recommend these apartments to anyone and would definately stay here again.

Had a great holiday at Summer Memories. Clean and tidy accommodation, whilst not being five star luxury was more than enough for a week's holiday. Excellent location, very central but quiet. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Stavros!! Reasonable sized pool and a nice bar (try the quiz - we won!!!) First time in Rhodes/Pefkos and will definately be back, wouldn't stay anywhere other than Summer Memories.

weve just arrived back from the summer memories and we will be going back again next year the appartments are close to all the tavernas & bars the beach is approx 10 mins away the beach and sea is great the rooms are cleaned everyday except sunday but there was never any rush for us to get out in the mornings theres a nice pool and bar area and the staff are really friendly

This is our second stay at Summer Memories and it won't be our last! The Studio we had was perfectly clean and very comfortable. By the end of our two week stay we had figured out how not to make the shower flood the bathroom, but hey, that's Greece!! We like the close proximity of the resort centre and the Supermarket, whilst the Apartments are peaceful and quiet. The pool area is nice, but we preferred Plakia Beach, about a 10-15 minute stroll away. There are loads of Bars and Restaurants to choose from, right on your doorstep. Best Greek food is served at Delizia Restaurant (on the main Beach road). Palm Cocktail Bar is great for 'people watching'. Pefkos is a great resort for families and couples, young and older, and Summer Memories is the best place to stay. But don't take our word for it, try it for yourself!

We have just come back from Summer Memories there is not one bad thing we can say about the apartments. The family who run it will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and we were lucky enough to have been allocated a 2 bed apt as there was only 2 of us. Plenty of sun loungers do not need to leave towels out early

Summer Memories is ideally situated just a few yards from the main street of the resort with all its shops, restaurants and bars and around 10 minutes gentle stroll from the beautiful beach. It has adult and childrens pools with plenty of beds and a poolside bar offering food.

The studios are well appointed with loads of storage, a double and single bed, setee, balcony and seperate kitchen area with electric kettle. The facilites were better than we expected from a Greek 2 Star. If I had to find fault I would say that the crockery, cutlery etc in the kitchen was a bit sparse and on a couple of overcast mornings the water was only lukewarm. The cleaners came in everyday except Sunday.
Pefkos has some great restaurants selling Greek food, Enigna was the best, but Spitaki and Terpsis came very close.
I would imagine Pefkos is a great place for children as several of the bars and restauarants had play areas and most had children's menus.

We hired a car and toured the island. Lindos is stunning, as is Monolithos.
We went to Rhodes to visit the old town, spent over an hour looking for somwhere to park, failed and came away, so it might be worth paying for a trip. A day in Rhodes was on offer for 14 euros in Lindos.
We visited Falaraki which is fine in May, also Stegna and Haraki which were very quiet so early in the season.

Just back after a week at summer memories,we had a great time here and the family who own the appartments make you feel like part of the family.The food at anytime of the day or night is lovely and there's plenty to choose from. The rooms are a nice size and cleaned every day except Sundays.
Pefkos itself has something for eveyone, we ate out every night and evey meal was great. We found ourselfs in Buddies bar most nights,Steve and Jan were great hosts and i can highly reccommend the Banana Daiquiri's, thank's Steve you got them perfect.

We have been to Pefkos 4 times already over the last 3 years and really like the resort.

Lots of really nice restaurants, we loved Artemis and the Greek House the best.

This is the first time we have stayed at Summer Memories. We loved it - the owners are really friendly and helpful and always say hello and good morning.

Apartments were very clean, maid came every day except Sunday.

The food in the bar was very good - we ate there most days throughout the two weeks. The kids loved the pool and made some good friends.

We would recommend the boat trip from the small bay - the Captain is very funny and if you go on the 1.30pm you get free beer or soft drinks - always stops off in one of the bays for you to have a swim.

All in all would highly recommend Summer Memories and will be going back later this year definately.

Pefkos is a very nice family resort.

We visited the Summer Memories after a personal recommendation, and were not disappointed. The family who own the apartments are very friendly and helpful. All rooms now have air conditioning at a cost of 40, 50 or 60 Euros per week, depending on size of apartment. Worth bearing in mind if you're going for two weeks - take extra money! The pool area is nice and sheltered, with plenty of sunbeds. Can get very hot as there is no breaze (only breaze on the beach). No toasters in apartments either. Also hand-held shower. Apartments very clean though.

Pefkos is very 'British' resort. I never met anyone who wasn't British (or Greek!) the whole time. When England played in the World Cup matches the place was ablaze with England strips of every variety, every bar had the match on large TV screens, and one was projected onto the side of a building!

There is a new 'Geordie' bar there called Bambooze. It is three doors down from the Wild West Bar, and is definately worth a visit. The cocktails are recommended. The owners are very friendly.

Every thing was right with this holiday,the villlage itself, the people, the accomadation. Air con 100 euros for two weeks meant a good nights sleep every night.Pool was a bit small and crowded some days but you can save on the sun tan lotion and you can easily make friends. The pool side bar was a nice oasis of tranquility and there were plenty of bars to spend a pleasant evening, we tended to used Alexaders and Pefkos by Night. Beaches, favourite was Prakai Beach down the side of Pefkos by Night when you reach the beach walk to your right for 300 metres (parasol and 2 beds 8 euros), here you'll also find a nice little bar that sells drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices.

Eating out, well I'm awkward don't do spicey, don't do garlic don't do foreign food but there is an absolute wealth of places to eat and did not have one bad meal,occasionally we had to wait a while but so what were on holiday.Little House, Enigma, Nostalgia,Hellas, Tsambekos, Two Brothers, Greek House, Colliseum, and our favourite Artemis. Also ate at Dionysos in Lindos (taxi 6 euros) and Mama Sophias in Rhodes Town. If you want English breakfast try Two Brothers(5 euros).Trips through rep a bit dearer than others did Island coach tour (interesting) and Rhodes by night(could have been there a bit longer)shop around. At night resort was reasonably quiet and my wife as did others say how safe they felt.

Proof of pudding we'll be gong back next September.

We had a fantastic holiday this year at Summer Memories. The accomodation was very well situated and very clean. It was family run and very friendly. The pool was nice with plenty of sun beds. We had the best holiday rep ever and she was really helpful. The apartments were cleaned daily except Sunday. We met really nice people as we used to always have a drink in the bar at the apartments before retiring. Weekly Karaoke with bar-b-que and quiz night were fun. Never had a bad meal in the two weeks we were there but our favorites were Terpsis and for a real greek meal which is cooked by mama whos been there for 12 years is nefeli. The kids used to go to eclipse as they enjoyed dancing on the bar!! We liked the pefkos by night cocktail bar but was very busy.

The beach is lovely and we used the main beach, unbrella and sunbeds 8 euros. Lee's on the beach was a good place to have brunch. The resort is very much a couples and families. young and single may find it abit too quiet. This is a place I would go back to.

Arrived in Pefkos after a 12 hour delay at Manchester Airport.
Was not dissapointed the appartments are lovely, clean and the staff are very friendly and great with kids, food at the pool bar was reasonable and did a great gyros.

Pefkos itself fantastic not too noisy!! we enjoyed Peacock Bar, pefkos by night. Best places to eat where definately Terpsis which did a fantastic greek plate at a reasonable price, nostalgia and enigma. Beach is ok but seemed to crowded and small would highly recommend Tsambika beach which was brilliant very large and lots of watersports on offer. Took a trip to Prassonnisi where the Agean sea meets the mediterranean a must to see. Take a trip to monolithos with breathtaking views. Rhodes town has a lot on offer great for shopping and we took a trip on the glass bottom boat round the harbour. We went on a trip to Symi which took too long to get too on the boat but once we where there wad well worth the visit.

All in all a fantastic holiday and would definately return to the summer memories and the resort of Pefkos- YAMMAS!!!

Absolutely superb holiday. Neither of us ever been to anywhere even vaguely Greek and to be honest, had never really appealed to me - boy how wrong was I??!

Summer memories was basic, but for the price we paid for the week was exceptional! v friendly staff (Tony was highly entertaining after a few drinks!) and lovely surroundings. V clean, spotless room, bar n pool area. Tony's full english brekkies are a must after a night on the ouzo! Because it was a few wks before season ";started";, was quiet around the apartments, but all other guests very friendly and made some good friends.

Did the island tour (highly recommended if u can cope with the early start!) and hired a car, following a route round the coast recommended by emma, our rep. prassinissi is fabulous (and i dont like beaches!) and spent a day in falikraki (try the bungee ball if you dare).

Pefkos is obviously still developing but many great restaurants, great selection of food and bars are all soooo friendly. For real WOW pictures, catch the sunrise over lindos bay from the ampitheatre club... beautiful!

Overall, loved it and its tempted me away from my love of the canary islands for good. Intend to go back asap and will definitely book summer memories again. Faultless
