"Hotel Andreas review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I recently returned from Rhodes, Greece, where I stayed for two weeks at Hotel Andreas (means brave) in the medieval, protected dual-walled city (no cars). My son and I thought the entire visit charming, exciting, varied and full of infinite possibilities, many of them emanating from the brilliant trilingual hostess/owner, Constance and her attentive concierge, Patrick (Belgian, who speaks French, German, English, Greek, etc.)
The hotel is walking distance to the port and beaches, and for those who care, just as close to the midnight till dawn club district (but one can't hear any noise inside the stone walls and completeley remodeled, smart and comfy rooms and suites, each with its own theme and color suit, down to the imposing love tower for honeymooners and other romantics.)
The breakfasts make the hotel a huge bargain, and huge and delicious they are, with some of the best fresh coffee in my life. I often skipped lunch and ate an inexpensive, traditional Greek dinner of fresh salad and fish because the breakfast -- many times cooked by the owner herself -- was enough to last me through the day, with ample choice for gourmets and gourmands among eggs, prepared in different styles, fresh pastries and breads, and whatever tasty fresh fruit was the best picked that morning, along with fresh orange juice, of course.
When I wanted to relax at any time of the day or early evening, I had simply to borrow a book from the extensive Lawrence Durrell library within Hotel Andreas and kick back in the fragrant lemon tree-ringed courtyard garden. The weather was delightful and, in short. the only thing flaky about my whole experience at Hotel Andreas was the quality of the apple pie crust. The caring atmosphere and sparklingly modern cleanliness (including all renovated new bathrooms) was as wholesome as the same pie, a great slice of vacation life at an absolutely affordable price.

"Hotel Andreas review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I stayed at the Hotel Andreas in June 2004 for two weeks.
As a woman travelling alone, I was very happy with the kind and attentive treatment the friendly and efficient staff provided. I was never at a loss for company. Whenever I felt lonely I could go to the panoramic terrace and relax with a book or a cool drink and chat with the owner. The breakfasts were delicious and generous. We were served complimentary drinks in the evening as the sun set over the temple of Apollo.
My room with terrace (#18)had a spectacular view of the Old Town, the port and the Aegean. It was spotlessly clean and had been revenovated and re-decorated in 2003. The eclected decorations made my room so special after the sterile rooms I had seen elsewhere. My bathroom was brandnew, my sheets ironed and changed daily and the towels fresh and fluffy.
I recommend this unique hotel to any and all who plan to travel to Rhodes Old Town. You will not be dissappointed!
