"Cactus Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Lovely resort, Old Town well worth a visit. Water Park in Faliraki only 13 Euros by taxi and is good fun. Don't bother with transfers, plenty of taxis in the airport and only costs 15 euros. Take the train ride around the town, lovely views. Hotel was nice, clean but our room was small with a tiny bathroom, we were offered to move after 2 days but didn't bother. Rooms cleaned every day. Pool is lovely. Not many Brits in the resort but everyone is friendly - Peacocks Bar is well worth a visit - the barman, George is good fun, and serves all British beer. Best restaurant by far is Yamas - ask George and he is really helpful!
A lovely holiday, would certainly go back!

This was our 2nd year to the resort of Rhodes Town. We both would highly recommend the resort and the hotel. Rhodes has so much to offer, the weather, clean beaches, places to see, beautiful food and such friendly people.
We paid a supplement to have a sea view. It was so worth it!!!This is our favourite holiday destination by far having tried Cyprus, Spain etc.
Actually we love it so much we would move there 2morrow if given the chance!!!
P.S Definitely recommend the Old Town and the Water Parka must to see.

Anyone who books this hotel in Rhodes Town is sure to have a fantastic time(fanilies and couples)
We were a little dubious after booking our holiday to Rhodes as everyone has seen the newspaper reports especially about Faliraki!!!??
Don't be fooled by what the press say!!!
Rhodes Town is absolutley fantastic, we couldn't fault it at all. you have got the old town and the new town to choose from and they are both fantastic. The old town is set within a medieval castle which consists of small, winding, cobbled streets and was simply beautiful. It is shoppers paradise with handbag stores, jewellers and craft shops gallore (i guarentee you will return form Rhodes with an extra suitacase!!)There are some fantastic bars and a brilliant English cafe serving great pie and chips and English breakfasts and they imported all the REAL stuff!!
The old town has many hidden wonders and I will guarentee that you will still be finding more shops and little cobbled streets even after 2 weeks. To reach the old town from the Cactus you have to pass Mandoraki harbour which is just fantastic at night time.
The new town is more typically cosmapolitan with an abundance of designer outlets, Macdonalds, Pizza Hut but equally as enjoyable as the Old Town.
The weather is fantastic and reached a scorching 120c when we were there but you will be glad of the Agean breeze at night which really cools things down(guarenteeed breezy evenings, great with the air con for a good nights sleep.
ACCOMMODATION:
The hotel is fantastic and the staff are really friendly. You will be greated daily by the hotel manager who likes to keep an eye on things.
The rooms were always spotless and were cleaned every day.
The Breakfast are typically continental with fruit, cakes, ham and cheeses and cereals(occasionally eggs and omeltes)
but if you don't fancy that ask Stergos behind the pool bar to fix you up with a Bacon and Egg toastie. We have been to the Cactus for the past 2 years and our faces are never forgotton especially by Stergos who is great fun and a great friend.
Being in the travel industry I regulary reccomend this hotel to my customers and what can i say, hey keep coming back for more.
LOCAL DELICACIES
try the Slouvlaki(kebab meat on a stick GORGEOUS) or
GYROS kebab meat in a pita bread stuffed with chips and TATZIKI
Try the food towards the new town which is a short walk behind the hotel (but not the 3 resturants directly behind)keep walking)
and theres lots to choose from, even a bar serving CARLING BLACK LABEL!!!
BOOK IT TODAY YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!
