This was our first time to Rhodes and it certainly won't be our last! We have been to quite a few Greek Islands and Rhodes ranks up there with the best of them. Stegna is great! Small, but everything you want is there and it still has a Greek feel about it....

Stegna is beautiful but very quiet and more suited for a very relaxing holiday. There are a few mini markets selling everything you would need and around 15 restaurants plus a few bars. Go here if you need to unwind!!

Stegna is a very good place to use as a base but unless you are happy to spend all day, every day, lying on a beach you need to hire a car (we hired from Extreme Cars €105 for 5 days). This was a first visit to Rhodes but we will definitely be back. Mercedes Bar was undergoing a change of ownership when we were there - so look for bigger and better things in the future (if you are visiting say hello to Christos and Peter). Rhodes Rocks in Lindos is definitely a good way to spend a late june weekend (look it up on the net) and we will be back for next year. Visits to Rhodes Old town and Lindos should definitely be included and don't ignore Haraki for the daytime or Falariki in the evenings (it is no longer the 18-30 centre it used to be).

As we were self-catering I haven't ticked the boxes for food and service but the Stegna Mare apartments were spotlessly clean and towels were changed regularly. The Staff both here, and the Stegna Star next door, were very friendly but watch out for Charlie...

The resort is very quiet, peaceful and unspoilt. A typically laid back resort which is frequented by the Greeks. We could no fault the food in any of the tavernas, we tried most of them and returned to a few. The prices were good too. There is a small taverna called Tsambikas on a corner (approx centre of the village) and just up from that one called Marias which advertises breakfasts and snacks, but they doe evening meals as well, these two were true Greek tavernas, the food was beautiful and very reasonablly priced. We have travelled to Greece and her many Islands for years and would recommend this resort to anyone who loves Greece. We will definately go back later this year.

The apartments were absolutely spotless, the room was cleaned dsily and the bed linen/towels changed 6 out of the 7 days we were there. We were self catering so that is the reason I have not ticked the box above. The owners Charlie and Tsambika were very he...
