Open quote

This was my third stay in Stegna, after 2 seperate breaks in 2002.
Myself and 2 friends booked independently through friends we met on our first visit to this beautiful resort.
If you want a relaxing holiday with plenty of sun, and to make lots of new friends, this is the place for you!
The apartment we stayed in was a 3 bed/ 1 bedroom apartment (which was basic but did the job!)with kitchenette and private bathroom, about 5 minute walk from the main beach.

Food is easily available- we preferred to eat out every night as there are plenty of different tavernas along the beach front. Favourites were Knight's Castle and En Plo, service and food amazing at both, although they can get very busy at peak season.

There's only 1 bar we visited every night- Mercedes Cocktail Bar- where we were made to feel very welcome on all three of our visits. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is live music once or twice per week. Food is also served during the day here, and you could also rent loungers and parasols for 3 euros per day.
Watersports are available from Nikos, who is situated opposite Mercedes on the beach. A very charming family run business - and they all (Nikos, wife and sons) speak English! Ringos, Banana boat, waterskiing and parasending all available.

Whilst staying in Stegna we didn't venture far- nights out in Lindos and Faliraki were ok but we didn't trust the taxi drivers on the return back to base. Drink driving is common so be vigilent.
We by far preferred Reno's Pub in Archangelos at the top of the mountain (where Stegna is at the bottom)where we were taken by the 'locals.' Most speak some English so you'll be fine! Drinks here are cheap and it stays open as long as you're there buying and dancing! The sunrises are absolutely fantastic by the way...
I love Stegna and would gladly return again and again.
