Marianthe Apartments Reviews

We wanted a quiet 'first'holiday together and was recommended Stegna by our travel agent. The apartment was clean and basic but satisfactory for the amount of time we actually spent in there. The air conditioning was about 8 euros a day, but a God send in the heat! The kitchen was VERY basic with a only a two ring stove and a fridge, not many utensils but it didn't matter because we ate out every night. The apartment is a stones throw from the beach.

The restaurants in Stegna, we found varied in quality. My advice would be to look at the people in them. If it's full of English tourists for example, you'll find the food pretty average. However, if there are more Greek people in them, you're likely to find the food traditionally Greek, authentic and delicious. We found the Greeks to all be extremely friendly with excellent service. You are not harrassed at the entrance like you are in other areas of Rhodes. A big majority speak English but knowing how to say Thank You in Greek goes down well!

The beach is uncrowded and clean. Usually, a couple of times a day, various boats come in with sun worshippers from other areas for a quick visit. There are watersports available for a reasonable price, run by a friendly family.

Our favourite place was Mercedes Cocktail Bar, run by an awesome couple (Mercedes and Chris), who have live music once a week and Karaoke also. They made us feel so welcome and their genuine friendliness went a long way. We would thoroughly recommend the venue for either a quiet lunch (they serve food during the day), cocktails and entertainment. It's a happy environment, perfect for kids also.

Stegna beach was perfect for us, we didn't leave the place all week!
