"Stegna Star Studios / Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Really loved our 2 week holiday here!It may be too quiet for some but myself and my husband loved it.The Stegna Star Apts were spotless and fairly well equipped. They are just over the very quiet road from the beach.
The beach was fab! no probs getting sunbeds(3euros each) and never seemed overcrowded even when the tourist boats came to visit each day we hardly noticed!
Weather was REALLY HOT and definately could not do without air con. Good places to eat were Stegna Star and Knights Castle. Mercedes Bar did great cocktails and a happy hour! Rhodes town is well worth a visit the old town is beautiful!
Only downside was the flight home.......a delay of 13 hours!!! Really awful!!
Overall had a lovely relaxing holiday and would love to return again sometime!

"Stegna Star Studios / Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Stayed for one week in peak season in Stegna and found it to be exactly as described by other reviewers.
The beach was excellent, the bay quiet and was not too busy. The apartments were excellent - a one-bed apartment for the two of us with air con for 5 euros a day (a must for us!) The Stegna Mare studios were directly opposite - balconies facing each other - but we didn't find this a problem (we hadn't intended to do any nude sunbathing anyway!).
The Stegna Star taverna was friendly and food good. It's an ideal place to unwind and do nothing (one week was fine). There is a free bus to Archangelos and also buses to Rhodes town and Lindos where you can travel via bus to most places on the island. The bay was a bonus, with no through traffic. No complaints at all.

"Stegna Star Studios / Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The STEGNA STAR apartments were truly fab. Spotlessly clean, spacious, airy, well-equipped. AC optional extra (essential in July!) We had two studios. At first we were worried that Stegna would be too quiet for our teenagers...but they quickly made several friends (American, Greek, Dutch)and had a great time organising their own beach parties. They also went to an organised beach party at nearby Tsambika Beach (every other Saturday - 5 Euros including free drink and dancing 'til dawn - great fun.
We hired a car (through Jean the Kosmar rep) for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the island. Ancient Kamiros was interesting (but HOT!) Valley of the Butterflies was lovely (and COOL!) We gave up on Lindos - too busy.
Old Rhodes town interesting with lots of ticky/tacky shops. WE went there on the bus BEWARE OF THE TIME SHARE touts who pounce as you get off the bus...my advice would be Don't Make Eye Contact and/or pretend to be Scandinavian or at least not English as they also have German employees. Thye pretend to be ultra friendly and hey, guess what, you've won a fantastic scratch card prize, one of only a tiny number on Rhodes...DON'T FALL FOR IT AND DON'T AGREE TO GO ANYWHERE WITH THEM - they will offer you a taxi back to your resort......you have been warned!!
Back to Stegna, lovely sea, unspoilt, maybe a little too quiet for some tastes but it was perfection for our whole family. Best place to eat was Stegna Star Taverna, Nikos and staff were so friendly and the home-cooked food by Ekaterina was delicious and excellent value. (Less than £30 most nights - for 5 of us including a litre of red wine and a couple of ice creams. They give you a free plate of fruit at the end of the meal - melon, figs etc anyway but two of our offspring are ice cream fiends.
We will definitely be returning allthough next time I'd prefer a studio that wasn't hand-shaking distance of the occupants of the Stegna Mare apartments! The Kosmar brochure doesn't make it clear quite how close the blocks are. We usually have independent holidays but we considered that Kosmar provided excellent value for money and will book holidays to Stegna and elsewhere in Greece with the company in future.
