The hotel and travel agency brochures advertise this hotel as being in Ixia. In fact it is well inside Trianda and therefore a very long walk (30 minutes) from Ixia. It is a ten minute walk to the main road from where you can catch a bus. There are little or no immediate services near to the hotel except one dirty rundown small supermarket and one taverna. No other facilities available and therefore no choice.

We first went to Trianda 23 years ago, so we have seen a lot of changes since then. We ate every night of our holiday at Kavalieros, which is in the main sqaure about 5 mins from the Barbie. The food is excellent, big portions and not too expensive. There is also a playground upstairs for children with a bouncy castle and slide. The best spot to eat is outside on the balcony, as you get a good view, and its very cosy and romantic. The owners Yannis and Andreas are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they have very good staff, and an excellent chef. I must mention their sister, Anna who also works in the restaurant at night.Next door is Leenas shop wich is owned by their father Gabriel, he is a lovely man, we had a few laughs with him, also the prices are good in his shop. T.shirts etc, football shirts, gold and silver etc. We would definately go back there again, it was a great holiday. One last thing the rep was not very good, on the way back to airport, no rep on the coach, so we did not know where to go, and when we found a rep at the airport, she was not very helpful. Same sort of thing on arrival, left hand does'nt know what the right is doing

My wife and I have now visited The Barbie 17 times in 6 years and have plans to return again this year, as we have just got home from a fantastic 2 weeks at our "home from home" . Testimony to this is the amount of people who return there year after year, such is the drawing power of 2 lovely people and a fantastic resort. The food and drinks at the BARBIE are very well priced and are the best prices for the area without a doubt. Many reviews have said the entertainment is not good, well I was of the understanding that to make a good nights entertainment you need people and lots of the guests seem to just go to their rooms at night instead of enjoying the Greek night or Kareoke night. They are great fun but the management there need people to get involved. Barbara also offers special Greek menus, which are home made and lovely, but once again there could be more takers. The food is lovely, tasty ,plentiful and very reasonably priced in comparison to some of the other places in the resort. You will find that Barbara and Vangellis work long hours to ensure that your stay is enjoyable and memorable and that is the reason we continually return to our "home from home". We came across Barbie Apartments just by chance 6 years ago and would not hesitate to recommend a visit there to anyone. Happy holidays !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! see you soon Barbie!!!!
