"Panorama Studios review"

Open quote

Samos is a beautiful island. Panorama studios are in Kalami a 20min walk out side of Samos town. The studios are set on the hillside of the Peninsula with breath taking views of the coastline and out to sea. The studios were ample size for 2. The pool is small and disappointing as it is shaded by trees and gets dirty, but the pool area is relaxing just to sit out in the quiet. the owners were friendley and helpful but we have had better maid service with only 2 visits to empty bins etc in the week.

Kalami is in effect the stretch of road which runs out of Samos town. There are plenty of resteraunts along the road if you don't fancy the walk in to town. In particular the Taverna Kalami directly below the Panorama studios, although only small, the food was fantastic (tradional greek) and the owners friendly and welcoming.

Samos is an island for people of all ages for us twenty somethings searching for a break from city life I foundit the perfect resort. For that after dinner cocktail I found the bars surprisingly sophisticated. Escape bar on the road to Kalami is set by the ocean with a relaxed atmosphere and chilling out beats. The crowd are mainly Greeks and other younger tourists.

Beaches - Pebble beaches! Although there is a beach at Kalami we found it better to hire a car and search out the Isalnd. Quiet and scenic beaches were near Kokkari - lemonaki beach. For sand and breathtaking views try campos right at the far end of the island

Samos town itself is a port and a working town. The old part of town - Vathy is set back on the hillside and perhaps prettier than the back streets below. There are plenty of shops and resteraunts but for a prettier more tourist resort I would suggest Pythogoria.Bars on the harbour front were worth stopping for a coffee to watch the world go by but for eating we found the resteraunts on the road to Kalami better.

We took a taxi to Pythogoria for the night. (9 euros twenty mins away- great value!!) The harbourthere is really pretty we had teh best meal of teh week in a small restaraunt right at teh far end if the harbour called Pharos. Set off the harbour, on the seafront the food was fantastic, the resteraunt sophisticated and the service first class (..or Greece!!)

Enjoy Samos a true Greek haven!! A fantastic island for people of all ages and what's more not even an English breakfast or a Murphy's pub in sight....What Heaven!!!!
