"an underestimated resort."
Overall Resort Rating:
Lovely beaches, pebbles so advise sandals. Clean and plenty of tavernas that offer free sunbeds if you lunch with them - well worth it. We were there ten tears ago and dont feel they have spoilt the area. The prices are still good with average meals for two with local wine 30 euros. Good range of tavernas offering traditional greek and italian food.

Mikro Seitani,Such a shame that this beautiful walk was marred by side tracks being absolutely littered with rubbish including condoms everywhere and their condom packets - some packets were even unopened - these side tracks are obviously where the prostitutes take their punters - come on Greece - let's tidy this up for us keen walkers.

"samos"
Overall Resort Rating:
We hired a jeep for three days - highly recommended to see the island. Don't be tempted to stick to the main road. You will find some lovely traditional villages if you head off the main road and into the inland hills. The roads are pretty good - even in the hills.
The location of the Arion was perfect. Having driven around the island we definitely thought Kokkari was the best location. Lovely little tavernas around a very pretty bay. Two beaches were within walking distance of the Arion Hotel, although we only visited one - Lemonakia - as we loved it and were happy to spend the days there. Lemonakia Beach is pebbly (we did find a lovely sandy beach at Psili Ammos near Pythagoria) but we preferred that. The sea was like swimming in a swimming pool - very warm and crystal clear. There was a good taverna on the beach too - run by the very friendly and larger than life Dimitris. All in all a perfect Greek holiday.

Overall Resort Rating:
Kokkari is without a doubt the nicest Greek resort I have been to – has a lovely, laid-back feel. The beach is pebbly but this is not to its detriment. Some great shops for your souvenirs – nothing tacky. The place comes alight at night with low key bars, restaurants and tavernas dotted on the waterfront. Definitely not a place for party animals. A proper place to chill out! Can’t wait to return.

"Glad to be back!"
Overall Resort Rating:
Kokkari is a lovely resort. Lots of places to eat and drink and plenty of shops. We had a car so drove to a beach, the town beach is OK but a bit windy. There is a lovely atmosphere in Kokkari - really relaxing. (did notice it's much more expensive in Greece - thanks to the Euro!)
I love Samos it's a beautiful island. We drove all over - up to Marathakampos through Kambos to Drakei. Through the mountains to Koumaradei and then back down to Pythagorian. We used to visit a beach near Poisideon which is very close to Turkey. We would watch the ships on their way through and the Turkish naval boats on patrol. Pythagorian is lovely, you should visit the church at the top of town - great views. Lots of lovely jewellery shops. If you are looking for an unspoilt, beautiful island with great beaches, fab places to eat and friendly people this is for you.
