Gallini Studios
We found Gallini Studios through the website Samosrooms. On arrival at Gallini (only 5 minutes transfer time in a taxi from the airport) we found dimitri waiting to welcome us. The studio whilst basic had everything required. The room was spotlessly clean and was cleaned daily with a regular change of towels (which were new and white and quite large by greek standards) and linen. Bins were emptied every day and floors cleaned. It was very comfortable. You do have to pay extra for air conditioning and the safe, Euro 35 for the week. We thought this reasonable and it was needed at the end of june when the nights were quite warm. Dimitri was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Pythagorian

We found it a beautiful little resort with some nice shops to wander round. The harbour was great for people watching and boat watching as their was such a mixture from extremely posh sailing yachts to little blue, red and white fishing boats bobbing up and down on the beautiful azure water. Plenty of restuarants to choose from at reasonable prices too. We found the restaurants on the harbour were not as good as the ones in the back streets, but our favourite was RIVA restaurant up near the castle and the church. The view was stunning at sunset and the food extremely good with a good wine list too. We tended to stay on Remetaki beach which was stony but 2 feet into the water turned sandy. The water was beautiful deep blue, very calm and ideal for swimming.

We had a jeep out for the day great way to see the island. Our favourite place was Manolates village, high in the mountains and very beautiful with fantastic scenery. But i'm sure there's plenty more to see which we didn't get round to.

All in all a fantastic week with beautiful whether, nice breezes on the beach but I could imagine extremely hot in July and August. Thoroughly recommended
