"Samos Sun Hotel review"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

Open quote

the samos sun hotel is up a fairly steep hill so not suitable for anyone with walking problems. that said the hotel is very good and the staff very helpful especially barbara and judith on reception nothing too much trouble for them.the hotel is about a half hour walk into pythagorion but you can get a cab for 3 euros so well worth it. pythagorion is pretty good but if you go to ireon which is about a mile the other way from the airport it is much smaller and nicer. also you can get the bus or drive to kokkari which is very pretty and a greta beach for windsurfing. the food in all resorts was ok and if you go to kokkari there is a bar opposite the kokkari beach hotel which does the best omelette ever number 36 on the menu.

if you want lots of nightlife then samos isnt the place for you but for a relaxing holiday just the job.

I took my mother away to THe Samos Sun Hotel in Pythagorion in June this year. The hotel itself was lovely, however it wasn't open!! The restaurants and bars were closed. The only facility at the hotel was the pool bar which opened during the day but didn't serve food. You need to take into consideration that this hotel is on a steep hill and there are a lot of steps around the hotel. If you book a sea view room as we did you need to take your oxygen mask with you. There was no one around to assist in carrying your cases all the way up to your room. Having said that the receptionists were very pleasant and were quite happy to book taxis into Pythagorion in the evening.

Pythagorion is gorgeous. Not to be missed. Spend an hour or so on the waterfront with a cocktail doing a bit of people watching prior to dinner.

There are plenty of restaraunts to try and we didn't have a bad meal all week.

If booking the trips via Manos, double check the times they give you for the coach as numerous people missed the coach due to incorrect times being given out.
