An excellent holtel in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Oia, where you can watch the sunsets from the rooftop terraces. The hotel is quite small and consists of studios and rooms with terraces overlooking the pool and the sea. Rooms are fairly basic but have air conditioning and fridges etc. We paid 55 euros per night for two of us including a continental breakfast. The hotel also includes a very reasonably priced restaurant where we ate most nights. The owners and people who work there are great and nothing is too much trouble. They always replied immediately to emails and arranged car hire for us and everything.

The island is amazing with some incredible scenery. Not at all trashy or overspoiled by tourists. Whilst there are the usual shops they mainly sell reasonable quality goods at fairly reasonable prices. Thira was more expensive - perhaps due to the cruise traffic. Oia was stunning and again although a lot of shops, the quality was good with a lot of craft and art shops.

Some of the inland towns are well worth seeing, and having a car definately helps. Some of the roads are interesting - a head for heights might help.

All in all a great week and we will certainly return soon and stay at the same place. Not many children around - but then we went after the schools had gone back.

Flights were by Thomas Cook from Manchester - again booked by internet.
