We have been to Dimitris, a family run Taverna and Apartments, twice and cannot fault it in anyway. The cleanliness and comfort of the apartments was excellent and the people were lovely and friendly. We were made to feel welcome at all times and as part of the family. Food was delicious and we rarely eat anywhere else. Within easy walking distance of Kamari town centre, the beach and the rest of the island was easy accessable. Pool was lovely, and cleaned daily and there was nevery any rush to do anything.
Kamari had everything we wanted. Plenty of shops around the beach area, loads of cheap resturants and many things to see. loved it !

This was our second visit to Santorini and we loved it as much as the first. The Dimitris apartments are clean, tidy and with very pretty gardens. The pool is clean and the food at the taverna was lovely. Do get the bus from Kamari to Fira, the streets are cobbled, lots of shops, and the sunset really is the best!
Kamari has loads of places to eat and drink - the Splash bar and the Mango bar are great bars, to be honest we didn't find a restuarant that wasn't good.
Perissa beach is lovely, but a bit more expensive than Kamari.
I can highly recommend Santorini, Kamari and Dimitris Apartments, and can't wait to go back!
Our second visit to Dimitris Studios - We enjoyed our first visit so much we had to return. The accommodation is very good and is spotlessly clean

Dimitris Taverna is family run, the food is cooked by Poppy and is as good as any meal we had eaten in Kamari. All the food is freshly cooked, as they have their own vegetable garden and the produce is picked daily - along with the eggs laid each day by their chickens.
There is a wide choice of places to eat in Kamari but we found the 'Sea-side' Restuarant an excellent place to eat. (The second reastuarant along the beach).
On the down side the beaches are pebbles not sand, but we were quite happy to stay by the pool.
During our stay we were made to feel like one of their family

Had a great week at the Dimitris Apts.
Very friendly owner and family.Apts nice and clean and the pool area was very good. The attached taverna was very popular with the locals and holiday makers alike. The only downside was it was approx 15 minute walk to the centre of Kamari.
Overall the accomodation was very good.
Kamari is an attractive low key resort with lots of bars and restaurants. Syrtaki seemed to be one of the best reataurants. The resort is very clean and tidy. There are lots of dogs about but they are not a problem at all. The beach at Kamari is not too inviting (black sand and shingle) so we did not use it. The cost of a pint of beer varies from 2.5 euro to 3.5 euro. Spirits and a mixer were about 4 euro. Food was quite reasonable also.
Overall the resort is very good.
Hire a car and tour the island. There is little traffic and a trip to Thira is a must for the sunset and a meal. Did not get to Oia but heard it is more stunning from there. Thira did not seem as expensive as the rep made out. The meal was about the same cost as in Kamari.
The winery at the top of the cliffs is wonderfull. The wine is great and the views are amazing. A trip to tne volcano and hot springs is fun but the walk to the top of the volcano is hard work at mid-day.
It takes approx 1/2 hour to climb. The island itself is quite stunning.
We had a great week and will certainly try and revisit in the near future.
