Grand View Apartments Reviews

We booked our flights and accommodation separately from the Internet.We stayed at the Grand View Apartments in Megalochori which is in the middle of the island.It was the perfect location to access the rest of the island as we hired a car for 2 weeks. ( essential to get around )

The apartments were very sparse but immaculate.The towels were changed every day and the room was serviced every day.Breakfast was the only meal served.There are no bar facilities, so everything had to be bought and kept in the fridge in the room.The view from the poolside was spectacular and made up for everything lacking in the room.The owners don't speak English at all, but were very pleasant.We were also struck by the quietness,marred only by some noisy residents on a couple of nights.

Santorini itself is a beautiful island. Not geared up much for tourism, but that is not always a bad thing.Clothes are very expensive as eating out can be ( Be prepared for the starter to arrive followed by the main course within 5 mins !! )It is more a place for couples rather than teenagers and children as there is little to do in the evenings.

All in all, a great holiday with breathtaking scenery, friendly people,and lots of hot sun.
