The resort of Perivolos is very central for the whole island of Santorini, the public transport is better than many on the Greek islands that I have visited and the bus service runs every hour from outside the mini market which was 3 minutes away from the studios. The resort capital of Fira took about 20 mins to reach by car and the large parking area was just on the outskirts of the town, about 5 mins away from the hussle and bussle of the narrow streets of this town. On the downside of Fira every other shop was an exclusive jewellers with what we thought was inflated prices especially with a cruise liner in the bay!

Perivolos itself was a road about 2 miles long with bars and restaurants on one side and a road wide enough for 2 cars to pass and then the beach, with enough umbrellas and sunbeds for everyone although they all belonged to the bars with service on the beach for drinks and food.

Many of the restaurants had entertainment on in the evening whether it was greek dancing, plate smashing or just a lone person singing, and the food was very authentic and well cooked especially in the 'Acropolis' and 'The Best'.
The studios we stayed at were very clean and the staff could'nt do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble especially Gelo, the manager barman handyman and chef, depending on which hat he had on at the time!All in all the island was beautiful the weather was hot and the holiday absolutely perfect!

There is only one thing to say about the sunsets which is what most people associate with Santorini, and that is stunning!
