Stayed at these apartments in July 08. Good location but not really suitable for people with mobility problems. Very friendly obliging staff. Met some nice people during our stay. Apartments basic but clean and comfortable. Try eating at the Sunset taverna. You will get a warm welcome. The Panama Hotel is an excellent family run business that serves yummy food! The bus ride to Skiathos town is a bit hairy but worth doing.

Just returned from two weeks in skiathos at the Stellina - stayed here 5 years ago not changed much still the same manager who hasn't got much time for the English, we were told this by friends in the tourist industry and believe me it's true if he had his way it would be a all greek hotel. Pool bar should shut at 18:30 but regularly shut at 16:30 one day even shutting at 15:30 and this was while the pool was quite heavily populated ! Nothing to keep you in the Hotel at night -- no happy hours - no entertainment at all it seems management dont want to make any more money from the hotel guests. generally the hotel is clean and tidy ,cleaners do a good job as do the ground staff, Bathrooms do tend to flood though if your having a shower due to the fact of the lack of a shower curtain and the poor drains. Breakfasts are the normal bread and coffee/tea with very little variation -- a toaster and some proper bread would be nice !! and they do have proper bread because they use it for lunchtime toasties! come on Stellina get your act together and drag yourself up to the standard of some off the other Greek hotels with your rating ( check the Nefeli in Kos town )

The hotel is ideal for holidaymakers who wish to spend a relaxing time and are not concerned about being entertained all the time. We booked thro and flew by Thomas Cook airlines, the flight and food were good the only issue I have is the seat pitch but you can pay extra for the extra leg room of the door seats. We were transferred from the airport in the hotels mini bus which made the transfer time less than 15 mins, upon arrival the check in was smooth with a porter waiting to take our cases to the room. Meal times were well attended with the choice of food good but could have been a little hotter. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The pool area was well used with the Sunbed grand prix starting at 7:50 with a gates open at 8:00 and all the beds towelled by 8:10.Extra beds were available on the beach at a cost of 8 euros for two beds and umbrella The pool is not suitable for non-swimmers as the depth ranges from 1.75m to 2.25m, however the lack of children meant that adults could supervise the young non-swimmers easily. There is a boat service from the beach in front of the hotel and for a cost of 2 euros you can cross the bay into Skiathos town, The holiday was intended to be a "getaway and unwind” break and it met all the criteria. Guests looking for activities or entertainment would need to travel to other resorts and use this hotel as a tranquil base

Just returned from a very relaxing week at the Morfo, we were originally booked for the Morfo 2 apartments fortunately we were moved into the newer block on ground level, this was especially good as we had our 3 year old grand daughter with us. Apartments were some of the best we have had on our travels to Greece, basic as always but very clean and bright.

Troulos is a great place for families with small children, many Tavernas close by, most sites have their own pools and you can use them all, just buy a drink or two. The best pool we found was at the Beltsios hotel (Tiffany bar), down the short cut to the beach. Tony in charge of the pool bar was excellent with our little girl very friendly. The best Taverna we found for meals was turn left leaving the Morfo up to the end of the road, turn right at the T junction and the second I think Taverna on the right called Syrtaki(Blue tables)opposite Yamas. Excellent food ,very friendly, quick service, and relatively cheap. Most Tavernas serve very good food, Captain Nikos (Apaloosa),Villa Rosa, Troulos Bay Hotel all excellent. There are also a couple of bars worth a mention Frog bar, Tiffany bar and Christakis. The little supermarket right from the Morfo was really good (Victoria) you can change money here, english cash, travellers cheques, only take 2% commision. Overall a wonderful holiday, we would recommend this town and these apartments to anyone. Have a wonderful time if you go.

This was our second visit to Skiathos, having previously stayed at La Luna Apts and we were not disappointed. The rooms were basic but very clean, the maid who was from Bulgaria was very nice indeed. Our children - 3 girls aged, 16, 11 and 8 - loved the pool, it was cleaned every evening. The hill that everyone seems to talk about is nothing - believe me - that little bit of exercise will do you good. The Areti Apts are ideal for a lovely quiet relaxing holiday. I would recommend the use of a hire car - if you can get one that is. We love Skiathos. It has beautiful beaches, not crowded. Lovely places to eat, Nectar and Ambrosia, Paradosi and Dino's restaurant in Skiathos Town to name a few. Can't wait to go back again to this beautiful little island in the Aegean Sea.

Koukounaries is by far the best resort in Skiathos, the beach is absolutely lovely with warm clear sea water. With this in mind there are regular drop off from boat trips which makes is quite a busy beach. My advice on this is to go earlier in the day as the boat trips start coming in from about 2pm. Small tavernas on the beach, food ok and reasonably priced. Costs 8 euros for 2 beds and a brolley all day long. 2 Supermarkets in Koukounaries both about same cost wise but one bigger. Bus service is ok if you dont mind a sweaty armpit in your face, they litrally cram people on those buses but is alright if you go early enough and avoid peak times like 6pm when everyone coming back from Koukounaries beach into town. There is only one main road in Skiathos which goes right from Skiathos town on a but route to Koukanaires at the end (bus stop 26) which makes it perfect for hiring a car, we did and it was great, no chance of getting lost. We went up to Skiathos dog shelter which is up the winding road next to bus stop 18 and if you are a dog lover its well worth a visit. They let you walk the dogs between 9am-2pm and dont forget to make a donation as they really struggle for funding. Skiathos town is great, everything there that you need. Its split into the newer bit which is more expensive and the old port which is lovely and a bit cheaper to eat out, more authentic variety here as well. One must is the boat trip which is advertised at Koukounaries beach, we paid 10 Euros each for a boat trip to Lalaria Beach for an hour (which had the clearest sea I have ever seen, the photos make it look like a swimming pool) then onto another beach(cant remember name but was lovely) for a few hours then back to koukounaries - whole trip lasted all day well worth it. Other beaches in skiathos we visited were, Agia Paraskevi (bus stop 16) absolutely lovely and not to far off the bus. Troulos (bus stop 20) again lovely, really nice taverna on this one which makes up fresh sandwiches while you wait. Marmaras this is like the skiathos palaces own beach, only very small and mostly guests from this hotel. Overall loved Skiathos and would definately go back again but maybe hire car for whole holiday. Will try not to worry about the exeptionally short runway at Skiathos airport which you can see from the plane, you can see the worry on peoples faces when they see it, just be prepared for the plane to brake hard as soon as it hits the ground you will be fine, its a buzz!

Just got back from 2 weeks staying at the Myrtia and have already got quotes to go back next year. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, which was basic but comfortable, cleaned most days and towels changed twice a week. Hot water is generated by solar so if you are late going up for a shower after a days sunbathing you will more than likely get a cold one, however we did not let this spoil it, we got used to cold/luke warm showers. In August the Air Con is a must although it was cooler outside at night the rooms were very warm. The complex is lovely and the small team that run it are great. Big thanks to Vangelis who is the manager of the site - he helped me out when my son needed to see a dentist whilst we were there. Spiros runs the restaurant and bar along with barman Vlatko(not sure of spelling)they are both great, nothing too much for them. Spiros has two lovely sons Leo and Biel who made friends with all the kids on site. 40 people on our coach were staying at the Myrtia and its only small, this meant that you get to know everyone and all the kids play together, the only down side to this is when they have to say goodbye at the airport. Food at the Myrtia is lovely, and reasonably priced as well, we tried lots of other restaurants but none of them beat Myrtia's food. Overall we thought it was a lovely complex, small but everything there that you need. One complaint though is that there is a complex just next door, run by Olympic Holidays which is not as nice as Myrtia and a lot cheaper to stay at, you find that some of the residents from there gatecrash Myrtia pool which makes it a lot busier than it would be with just its own guests and they hog the sunbeds. Overall its great and we would go back, oh and dont let reviews saying there are loads of wasps put you off, there are a few but they dont bother you. The ones in the UK are worse. You will be dropped of the coach at the top of a track which takes about 5-10 mins to walk down - dont let this put you off its quite a nice walk through the trees and you soon get used to it. Take a torch at night though as its too dark without really. Nearest supermarket at top of track stocks everything you need and you can change travellers cheques there as well at a cost of 2 euros per cheque (take your passport for this, they a bit funny without it).

Troulos was quite a small resort. There were quite a few tavernas but all very spread out. My favourite has too be 'Nectar and Ambrosia'. The meal was delicious, and it was very well layed out and designed inside. It cost slightly more than the other tavernas but was fabulous, and well worth it. We even had to book it was so popular! The beach was nice with sunbed and umbrellas for 7 Euros. There were also a couple of Tavernas on the Beach which were nice! Finally, i wouldnt go to troulos without visiting the Dog sanctuary. Its a fair while up the hill, but well worth it! I was worried it was going to be sad, but the dogs are really well looked after, and healthy, and i was supprised how many are being re-homed. When i went there were many puppies (including andrex!) which we were able to hold and attempt to walk! They also need help and money and support, too afford to care for the dogs in every possible way! Troulos overall was a lovely location, quite quiet but very clean with lovely people!

I had a fabulous stay in Filia. It was typically greek and the rooms were simplistic (and clean) but thats all you need, unless you plan to spend the whole holiday indoors! The only problem was the towels were small (this seems to be the case with most ...

I had a fabulous stay in Filia. It was typically greek and the rooms were simplistic (and clean) but thats all you need, unless you plan to spend the whole holiday indoors! The only problem was the towels were small (this seems to be the case with most places in Greece), but out there you dry pretty quickly in the heat! The pool was extremply clean, and the bar was cheap with good service. The staff were very friendly although they dont all speak fluent english, i'd imagine all of their English is better than my greek! The greek night was not an event too miss. We met lots of people and had a night we definitetly wont forget! The staff also provided free transfers to the beach in there minibus and trips into town for prices alot cheaper than the taxis and way more pleasant than the packed buses! They were very reliable for pick up, etc. it was a 15 minute stroll to the local beach and it took around 10 minutes to walk to the bus stop. The apartments are on a hill, but this had lots of plus points! We were further away from the water so there were less mosquitos, away from the noise and main road and the views were fantastic. The hill was not as bad as people make out. And there is a shorter way around, which was less steep! Around the pool their were many sunbeds, which had comfortable cushions and unbrellas. There were also small tables for drinks etc. The pool table was free and they had a large selection of books and magazines to lend and read! The food sold at Filia was not expensive, but fresh and yum! I would definitetly go back, and other familys on my trip said exactly the same! Thank you so much to everyone at the Fila appts. you work hard but it definitetly seems to be paying off! Jen x

The cost of Skiathos is quite high now - especially as the pound is much weaker against the euro. Small supermarkets do charge more now - you are better off going to the biggest supermarket "Champion" in Skiathos town, which is much cheaper.

This is our 6th year in a row to La Luna. We love the place mainly due to the fact that Dimitris and Stavrula are such fantastic hosts. It marked the end of an era as it is indeed their last year there and our last day was very sad. However we will be keeping in contact with them and hope to visit them at their next place. Skiathos was much quieter this year which was lovely and we never tire of the scenery and beaches (particularly in the north of the island). We will return to Skiathos in the future but La Luna will not be the same without Dimitris, Stavrula, Mariella and Arthur. We wish them all the best for their future plans. Justyne and Mark

Just returned from a 2 week stay, 4 adults in our party. Most important thing to remember is a torch, the walk back to apartments late at night, all be it very good fun,is very dark. Rooms were a decent size (block c) in fact we had the best hanging space in the wardrobes than in on any other greek island. We were amazed that we even got a shower curtain (unheard of usually) however nothing to attach shower head onto the wall - resulting in flooded bathroom floor every time it was used. They do leave a bucket and mop outside your apartment (very handy) Bed linen was changed regular as were the towels, towels could have been bigger we did end up using them as bath mats. We only used the kitchen facility for making tea and coffee, so even though the crockery was very sparse, we coped. The pool is lovely, with plenty of sunbeds and the beaches are well worth the walk. (You,ve got all day - take your time) Buses run into Skiathos, it seemed every 10 minutes, very crowded but your only on Bus about 20mins. We enjoyed good meals in resort, especially at Captain Mikolas fish restaurant, The village, etc. We ended every night in Stamelos Bar Deeno and his wife who ran the bar were wonderful, as was Lesley. All in all a Wonderful Island to visit, We will be back
