it was my first holiday there,and was amazing ,drfinetly going next year again,,,just beautyful,,,

the beach is in a very good position I cannot coment on the eating out as we ate in the hotel but other guests on B and B said that the eating out was very good the nightlife was average for this part of the world which generally is quiet

Well where do I start rooms are large and very good and kept very clean with bed linen changed every day bathromm is also large and very good - no problems at this point service in hotel during meals is very very poor with the waitress walking round in a dream and dressed like a nurse in a mental hospital as this was the last week of the season dishes started disappearing on each day, it started with no cornflakes it was ok if you liked coco pops then the pineapple disppeared along with the fuit cocktail and finally on the last evening meal there was no vegetables the King Prawns along with the clams were like rubber thats ok if you like rubber tasting prawns - this was very poor indeed Internet is free in the hotel but that was taken off in the last 2 days all in all the poor sevice really let this hotel down and I was talking to a waitress and she said that the hotel have had complaints about the hotel all summer and especially about the waitress dress - the first 3 days there was a couple of waiters taking the dishes away and they were always in a dream world. beach this was very good but the only problem was that it had rained for two weeks before our arrival and the sunbeds could not be used for two days because the mattresses were wet- they placed a cotton cover over the mattress and you sat on a towel but you still finished with a wet backside. returning back to the airport on leaving the rep asked if we were all coming back next year and nearly all said the would come back but not to this hotel

unfortunaley the hotel will lose custom if the do not get something done about the service and meals what is certainly lacking is some leadership organizing things at meal times they need to get a good hotel manager who must have been hiding all week when we was there

WE dined at a fresh taverna every night special mention- AVLI Kostas does home cooking (no microwaves)ask him for to-days special. JIMMYS-gets very busy in season GREEN PARK-award winning and the biggest meals I've ever seen PLATANIAS-Try Lamb Exotica -nostimo !

I Was a Kosmar refugee ,but I wont go into that and got a last minute deal with First Choice to Zorbas.This hillside acc;(yes the hill would be problem to people with walking difficulties)has studios and one bedroom apts.studios one to seven have a terrace with poolside view the others -the higher you go the better the outlook. Its very peaceful,when you get up in the morning the only sound is the odd crow clearing its throat!zorbas is a family business with Kostas,Vaitsa(Via) and their two sons-Kostas and Nikos.Special mention to Via who works like a trojan dawn till dusk-towels and bedlinen changed tues +thurs.Please note the bin on corridor of studs 1 to 7 is for general rubbish,toilet paper goes in bathroom bin. The studios are very well equipped--kettle,toastie maker,hair dryer ,shower +curtain with constant hot water,tv (euronews in english chanel 13) The acc: has a compact pool with pool bar which has a wide range of drinks but limited food.

I would not stay at the Stellina again or recommend it to anybody.

Needs a toast machine, better breakfasts, warmer pool, draft beer, bigger TV in the bar area and stop putting the Greeks in the best rooms.

Great place, lots to do and plenty of places to eat and drink.

The heading says it all, book early if you want to come to this excellent oasis on Skiathos island, Theo,Alexi and all the family make you feel so welcome its like going home, we could not get in this September so stayed just along the road but still managed to spend all our time at Ioannis, we will not make the same mistake again and writing this October 2nd we have already booked for May and September next year, go here if you want peace and tranquility through the day,excellent food in the evening and a great night if you want it, not to loud but great company, we want to see lots more places but Skiathos and especially the Tzoumas family keep calling us back, we cant get enough, simply Fantastic.

There's lots of nice places to eat in Skiathos town, most of them providing traditional Greek cuisine as well as other dishes. You can find lots of interesting souvenirs in the shops along Papadiamantis street. Also, there's a bus that goes from Skiathos town to Koukanaries for €1.80. The beach at Koukanaries is absolutely beautiful.One exciting thing you can do is go to the rear of the airport where you can stand and watch planes taking off and landing. One word of warning: don't stand too close when planes are taking off, the thrust from the engines nearly blew us all into the sea!

Very disappointed with our hotel in Skiathos. We felt we were treated like second-class citizens once a bus load of Greeks arrived at the hotel. A better breakfast was laid on during their stay plus they got better rooms than us. Our room was right above reception and it was cold and dark, plus there was only one working plug socket in the whole room. Also there was no shower curtain and nothing to hold on to when stepping out of the shower, someone could seriously injure themselves if they slipped on the wet tiled floor. The reception area was Ok but it wasn't inviting at all and most nights there was only us in the bar, served by the barman who wore the same creased-up clothes for the entire week and somehow managed to charge us upwards of €25 for 6 drinks. They could do with a big screen TV and some music in the bar to give it a bit more atmosphere. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk away from Skiathos town but you can ask reception to call you a taxi, they cost between €3 and €5. We had to use taxis to get into town a couple of nights as the weather was quite bad during our stay on Skiathos. I would come to Skiathos again but I wouldn't stay at this hotel.

Skiathos town so many good restaurants, not had a bad meal anywhere,

having spent a week in June 2007 at the Oasis, and loving every minute of it, we decided to go back June 2008,again we were not dissappointed, Mike and the staff again made our holiday fantastic, Mike having taking the time to take us on his boat, the friendly people. We booked a holiday again in September to the Oasis, only to be disappointed, should have flown the day XL went bust, we made it to Troulos the following week, and went to visit Mike, great News although Mike has lost alot of money, he will be open next year, under Cosmos, but no bigger pool which he had planned, or TV in rooms, So Mike, we will be back next year to see you and the staff.

Kolios is a relatively small resort though it is well connected to the other main resorts on Skiathos by a very good bus system and widely available taxis.

The Beaches at Kolios and Agia Paraskevi are lovely and the sea very safe for bathing.

Food and drink prices are reasonable and on par with what we expected given the exchange rate when we went.

There is a reasonable selection of restaurants but some of the gems aren't immediately obvious. Seek out Green Park, good food, huge portions (arguably too big) and very good service. Platanis Taverna also very good.

Can't really comment on the nightlife as we had young ones with us and didn't see much of it.

As for things to see and do, the south side of the island is very accessible by bus and taxi. To really see the sights though, hire yourself a jeep and head along the north coast for some really lovely little remote beaches and some stunning views.

We spent the last two weeks in August staying at the Theodora Studios and were more than happy.

Cleanliness - Our studio apartment was serviced daily (except Sunday) and the bedding changed once a week. The pool bar, pool area and apartment complex itself were always spotless and very well presented.

Food - The pool bar served a good selection of breakfasts, snacks and omelettes. All freshly prepared to order. The Greek salads were lovely. Naturally a full selection of drinks were available at the bar. Oh how I long for a Mythos....

Hotel Service - Maria and Staff were fantastic hosts, offering a warm welcome on arrival and an equally sincere farewell on departure. Worthy of particular praise was the tireless Maggie, a genuinely lovely person. She made a real fuss of the kids and was generally an all round star.

Location - 500m'ish from bus stop 15 on the main road, for us it was near perfect. Nice and quiet, no traffic noise. The only downside was that the walk to the nearest cluster of tavernas (at Agia Paraskevi) meant a walk down the side of the main road. Weekdays not much of an issue, but on the weekends the road was very busy.

Room comfort - If you don't spend a lot of time in your apartment when on holiday it will be fine. There was four of us (2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) sharing the studio and there wasn't a great deal of privacy or room to spare. However, everything worked. Air conditioning was a god-send during the night and as we didn't eat in the apartment really (other than some fruit based breakfasts on the patio) then the very limited cooking facilities weren't an issue to us. Also, as we had a toddler with us they gave us a ground floor studio which opened onto a lawned area which was great to let the kids run around, no worries about balconies.

Overall - We would definitely recommend the Theodora Studios.
