"Excellent"
resort to a friend
Lovely resort especially for couples, not really for children. There are some really nice tavernas serving delicious food and the beach is very nice with sunbeds to hire. If you didn't want to venture into town you can get all you want here. There is even a sports bar showing the matches for them men!!!!!!

"Quiet and Lovely"
resort to a friend
Kolios is a quiet resort with nice Tavernas to eat or have a drink in and the beach is lovely and only 5 minutes stroll from your apartment. The next resort is 5 minutes walk away which is also lovely. Skiathos has to be the jewel in the crown of Greece because it is just wonderful and has an excellent reliable bus service which runs every half hour all day up until 12.30 midnight. It is supposed to be the best bus service in Greece. You can take a trip into Skiathos town on the bus taking about 5 minutes and when you arrive you will see a lovely harbour with "chic" waterfront cafebars but these are expensive so my advice is go behind the front to the old cobbled streets of Skiathos where you will find a pretty authentic greek village with many shops,Tavernas and little cafes selling Giros (Kebabs) the best you'll ever taste believe me. If you are young and want a bit of nightlife there are some late bars/discotechs at the end of the town but I dont really think this is a place for party animals. It is for young and mature couples and families. I went with my husbands parent and we all loved it so much we intend to return. Skiathos is no good to anyone who likes the brash Costa's of Spain and karaoke and football bars because when you are here you know you are in a foriegn country not Blackpool with sun.

The Koukounaries beach is the best beach I've been to. It's beautiful, very quiet and surrounded by trees. I loved it. Only problem that there were not many tavernas but maybe the fact that I was there in september had something to do with this. I suppose more of them are open in july or august.

Beach is beutiful and I would say one of the best I have ever been to and that includes the caribean, the main letdown is the cost to eat and drink is expensive for the location and it feels that the Greeks are being a bit greedy. Every night wee went to Skiathos town with although a pain to get to was worth it as this is a lively town with a great atmosphere - would definately go back but near to skiathos town next time

And went on a lilo and of corse lets not forget Lalaria beach and we got good luck for swimming in the arch. We are all lucky ferrets. But ferrets are funny creatures. We love you greeeece!

Lovely beach - but only a few Tavernas and bars, to get any atmosphere you have to go to Skiathos Town which is unfortunately a real hassle. However this and many of the beaches in Skiathos are beautiful

Excellent beachs but poor for going out and eating out, if you stayed here you are going to have to end up going to Skiathos town if you want some atmosphere as there is little going on in troulos to keep you updated after the first night. however Skiathos Town is another story and is amazing, unfortunately it iis such a hassle to get there so if we go back to skiathos that is near to where we would try and stay

Don't listen to the people who tell you the resort of koukanaries has the best beach, it's was far too crowded, even in June, the one in Troulos is far better - beautiful stretch of sand with a nice hotel restaurant serving reasonably priced food (better than the over- priced food stalls on the beach in koukanaries)
There are some great restaurants, in particular Nectar & Ambrosia (upstairs opp Green Meadows) which catered well for veggies, had friendly & helpful staff & was very good value for money.
The nightlife was less impressive, but it's only a short bus / taxi ride to Skiathos Town which is beautiful & has some great cocktail bars by the harbour.

The resort was reasonably small, we enjoyed it. Nice and near Skiathos Town which was a bit more lively and quite good to visit at night. The beach near our hotel was lovely. We don't like going to the same place twice which is the only reason we wouldn't go back - overall very satisfied.

This was our first visit to Greece. We chose Skiathos as we wanted a scenic island where we could relax for a week in September on picturesque beaches. We were not disappointed, and look forward to returning one day. The options seemed to be (1) stay in Skiathos Town and travel out to the beaches during the day, or (2) stay in one of the beach resorts and travel into town at night for the bars and restaurants. We chose the former, and used the excellent bus service to travel to the beaches, Banana being our favourite. We experienced a few showers and the odd thunderstorm, which are to be expected at the end of September. However, we still managed to enjoy the beach, get a tan, and swim in the clear sea most days.
Skiathos Town is a charming place with an attractive harbour area and narrow pedestrianised streets. It felt very safe, and the locals were polite and helpful. Our favourite restaurants were Dionysus and Asprolithos. The food and service were excellent in both, and the prices very reasonable.

The resort was well maintained, quiet and pleasant. There were many wonderful restauarants, the best of which is Nectar and Ambrosia - high quality, good choice (even for vegetarians, rofl). Lovely Beach, take water.

The beach is a good 15mins walk there and longer back as it is a steep uphill climb, but you can be dropped off and picked up by the minibus at the bottom of the hill.
I hired a jeep for a few days which was great - visited the monastery and took some dirt roads across the island. The views of the north coast are not to be missed.
For restaurants in the town I would recommend Plakes, amazing views and good food and service, also Anemos which overlooks the old harbour, and 1901, to name but a few. Ate at the hotel a few times and the food was good. The breakfast was a typical buffet and more than adequate.
