Very quiet, but a short bus ride away is Skiathos town with plenty to do day and night.The beach is across the road about 200 metres away. A couple of gift shops ,supermarket and eateries on main street.

Troulos has a verry beautiful beach and one of the best beaches I have seen, the only downside to the resort is that there is not as much going on as say Skiathos Town which makes traveling there every night essential and a bit of a hassle. But for beaches this is a lovely lovely place and would recomend totally

Very beautiful resort but it is a bit quiet. There are some shops and restaurants, but it is much better in Skiathos Town, more going on.

The resort is best suited for young families and older couples looking for a quite, tranquil holiday the beach is excellent, very sandy and goes into the water very gently with very limited sea weed! 8 euros for 2 sunbeds and umbrella on the beach is also very reasonable compaired with spain and other larger greek islands. Also the bus network for the Island is amazing, its ran from 7.00am till midnight during the peak season and was every 20 mintues, no matter where you went on the island it was 1.40 Euros fro mthe resort but during peak times of the day the buses could be very busy and sometimes weould go striaght by but a taxi was never very far away and would aften offer to take people into town for around 6-8 Euros.

Twice a week ( tuesday evening and sunday morning) meet at the information kiosk down by the harbour for an interesting walk, led by Vasilis Koralis, author of 'The Walks of Skiathos Island' around the quieter and more atmospheric parts of skiathos town. Current schedules posted at the kiosk, dont buy a ticket as cheaper to pay mr Korallis yourself. get to know the best places to eat, and any questions you may have about this lovely island. The walking book is well worth buying as if you get a cloudy day it makes a nice change from the beach. He was born on Skiathos but raised in the USA so his English is excellent and quite an interesting character himself.

Koukounaries is a quiet resort with just a few bars and restaurants but the beach is fantastic, and the bus service is good to get around Skiathos.

beech is ok nothing special, has a couple of beech bars, sun beds are good, but the whole beech area looks scruffy

Weve been for 7 years running so this should say it all. The accomodation spoilt the holiday. The OLYMPIC rep was rude and dismisive, she even said that everywhere is the same after 7 years I know this is not true, she even said that her appartment is the same, difference is she gets paid to stay there.

troulas is very quiet, beach is lovely although very buisy .buses run every 10min.plenty of great restaurants our favourite being ambrose and necter.but not a lot to do if weather bad which it was .supermarket at the bottom of the hill is very expensive also the staff where quite miserable .at least when you are getting ripped off you expect a smile now and again.over run with wasps.weather horrendous dont go in september.the roads are poorly lit and dangerous .

Troulos beach - which is the closest to the Zachos Hotel - is a lovely family friendly beach with all amenities. If it's a really quiet beach you're after head to "little Banana" a short bus ride away - it is however a naturist beach. Big banana next to it is more commercialised. The island is quite small with a good bus service so nothing is really very far away. All in all a great island."

Koukounaries is a wonderful resort but the beach has been spoiled by its beauty as hundreds descend every day and fill every available space on the beach. We lasted 10 minutes there! Superb beaches can be found through the pine forests , our favourite being Mandraki Elias , a beach bums paradise !

The resort was reasonably small, we enjoyed it. Nice and near Skiathos Town which was a bit more lively and quite good to visit at night. The beach near our hotel was lovely. We don't like going to the same place twice which is the only reason we wouldn't go back - overall very satisfied.

This was our first visit to Greece. We chose Skiathos as we wanted a scenic island where we could relax for a week in September on picturesque beaches. We were not disappointed, and look forward to returning one day. The options seemed to be (1) stay in Skiathos Town and travel out to the beaches during the day, or (2) stay in one of the beach resorts and travel into town at night for the bars and restaurants. We chose the former, and used the excellent bus service to travel to the beaches, Banana being our favourite. We experienced a few showers and the odd thunderstorm, which are to be expected at the end of September. However, we still managed to enjoy the beach, get a tan, and swim in the clear sea most days.

Skiathos Town is a charming place with an attractive harbour area and narrow pedestrianised streets. It felt very safe, and the locals were polite and helpful. Our favourite restaurants were Dionysus and Asprolithos. The food and service were excellent in both, and the prices very reasonable.

The beach is a good 15mins walk there and longer back as it is a steep uphill climb, but you can be dropped off and picked up by the minibus at the bottom of the hill.

I hired a jeep for a few days which was great - visited the monastery and took some dirt roads across the island. The views of the north coast are not to be missed.

For restaurants in the town I would recommend Plakes, amazing views and good food and service, also Anemos which overlooks the old harbour, and 1901, to name but a few. Ate at the hotel a few times and the food was good. The breakfast was a typical buffet and more than adequate.
