"Angelos Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Angelos studios (Kolios/vromolimnos, not to be confused with the Angelos Studios in Koukanaries) has 21 rooms, some of which have a great view looking out onto Vromolimnos beach.
It is a quiet resort, set back off the main road on top of a hill, which is great exercise after all the great food you'll be eating on the island.
The rooms are clean and include either a little balcony or courtyard (if you're on the ground floor) which are lovely to sit out on with a glass of wine in the cool evenings.
If you're looking for luxury, don't stay here but if like us, you are simply looking for a bed to sleep in-Angelos is more than adequate-Who wants to stay indoors in Skiathos anyway?!?
The swimming pool is lovely and clean and surrounded by sun beds with the option of shaded or sunny areas. The taverna is quaint and it's hard not to feel at home there. They serve a good range of quality food and every drink you can think of! I can particularly recommend an omelette for breakfast-the eggs are always fresh from that morning courtesy of the resident chickens!
It is a about a 4 minute walk to Vromolimnos beach, which I think is one of the nicest beaches on the island! The supermarket is about a 5 minute walk and sells practically everything! Plus if you can't be bothered to take on the ill, they will deliver for you!
Angelo or George (Angelo's son, who actually owns the place) will greet you with a smile and will show you great hospitality throughout your stay-genuinely nice people and very generous too! George understands more English than Angelo and you can actually hold a reasonable conversation with him, whereas Angelo knows only a few phrases, which only adds to his charm-one of his favourites is ";No Control";. It was Angelo and George that made our stay at these studios and the reason why we are returning to stay there for the 3rd time, later this month.
Skiathos is a little slice of paradise! I am somewhat confused when I read bad reviews of Skiathos; it makes me wonder if we visited the same place. Don't get me wrong, it is not a holiday for everyone but I think it's ideal for couples of all ages.
It is essentially a beach holiday and with over 60 to choose from, you're spoilt for choice! The food on the island is beautiful! There's so many restaurants to choose from! If you like Pizza, I would recommend Maria's pizza-the best I've ever had! You can watch her make your pizza fresh and enjoy it at the quaint little tables on the backstreet cobbles.
It is worth doing a couple of boat trips, to see some of the beaches which can only be reached by boat, such as Lalaria, which is stunning!
I would also recommend a trip to the outdoor cinema-it plays recent movies in English with Greek subtitles-it's a totally different experience watching a movie with a glass of wine or a beer and having the moon and stars above you-perfect!
If you like dogs have a walk up to the dog shelter near troulos and walk a dog in the picturesque mountains-stunning views and good exercise!
In the evenings the best place to go to is the rock and roll bar-they do amazing cocktails and you can enjoy them whilst sitting on plump colourful cushions and beanbags on the slabs outside-it's so comfortable and relaxing and the novelty doesn't wear off-we visited during happy hour (7-9) almost every night!
What can I say? If you want a relaxing holiday with beautiful beaches, great food and drink and superb weather than go to Skiathos-you won't be disappointed.

Overall Hotel Rating:
This was my first trip to Skiathos and it lived up to it's expectations. The scenery was amazing, around every cove there was yet another stunning beach.
Vromolimnos is well situated (bus stop 13) so half way between the town and Koukounaries. It's a regular, cheap but crowded way of getting around.
The Angelos apts were basic, comfortable and clean and had a pool. The beach was a 10 min walk but gets packed around 4pm with the 'in' crowd until late evening, so can become noisy with music and scooters going up and down the road.
Highlights of the island include the cobbled streets in the town, lots of shops and bars. Banana and Koukounaries beaches were beautiful, but be ready to walk up a steep hill to get to Banana beach. Also walking along the 'Strip', which is the road as you walk along the harbour. It's filled with lovely taverners and clubs. Just be prepared to pay 7.50 Euro per drink!
All in all I would recommend the resort, apartments and the tour operator.
