Golden Beach is in our opinion the best resort on the island of Thassos. A glorious beach with the sand shelving gently into the lovely blue sea. A lot of typical Greek Tavernas and we can recommend Sotoris Taverna and Finikas Tavernas in Golden Beach itself. If you going to take the short walk to Skala Potamis Akrogialia Taverna is a small family run establishment which we thought was great.There are only a few shops here and a handful of low key bars. The surrounding scenery is magnificent.Best for couples who want a quiet and relaxing holiday

The beach is a short walk away and is lovely and sandy. You do have to pay for sunbeds ( 6 euro's ). We were told that some restaurants, let you use them, as long as you bought some drinks, or something to eat, which really works out the same.

best beach on thassos, plenty of good taveras, water sports excellent. Nightlife very quiet therefore resort ideal for familys with young children.

Golden Beach is for people who want a quiet and relaxing holiday. The soft sand shelves gently into the sea and is close to paradise. There is a good selection of restaurants and our favourites were Sortiris and the Magic Coast in nearby Skala Potamia, Night-life is very low key and the nearest cash machine is 2 miles away. The nearest chemist is taxi or bus ride away in Pagnia. Very few shops just peace and quiet. It is not really a resort for families.

The main reason for coming here is the wonder beach with soft sand sloping gently into the sea. There is a great selection of reasonably priced tavernas the best being Sortiris. Finikas is also worth eating at.There are very few shop apart from a couple of small supermarkets. The nearest chemist is in Pangnia a bus or taxi ride away. The nearest cash machine is 2 miles away. Credit cards not generally accepted here. Best for couples wanting a quiet and relaxing beach holiday.

It's a beautiful island and resort. Very relaxing and great weather in May. Beach is lovely and clean and hole resort was very clean and there were very friendly people.

Early in the season over half the resort was not yet open, and there was lots of building work going on.We went primarily to walk, and the surrounding countryside is ideal for this. Unfortunately the local bus service had not been fully started so many of the walks could not be undertaken.

A magnificent sandy beach, excellent tavernas and very few bars. A place to visit for the real Greece and for people wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Golden Beach is a resort rather than a traditional town. It has no heart but don't let that put you off if you are in search of traditional culture. There are plenty of traditional villages nearby such as Panagia and Potamia and Thassos town is just a 20 minute journey by bus costing only 4 Euros return. The beach at Golden Beach is wide, features sand dunes and very pretty particularly at each ends which merges into Scala Potamia with a small fishing harbour and tavernas selling sea food. The turquoise waters here are lovely.

The majority of buildings in Golden Beach and Scala Potamia appear to be modern, mostly low rise hotels, tavernas, souvenir shops, car hire centres and small convenience stores.

However they have a traditional feel overall thanks to the rural surroundings - olive groves and farms with vineyard lined allotments and overall a slow pace.

Nearly everyone we spoke to has been returning year after year. It's the unhurried, less stressful way of life that is probably the main draw.

Golden sands. Great food. Non-stop sunshine. This hotel has got it all - and then some. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be in no doubt that this heavenly hotel will live up to your holiday dreams. Even the lobby is drop dead gorgeous. We’re talking elegant minimalism in shades of chocolate, vanilla and buttercup, with plump cushioned sofas just begging to be sat on. And upstairs, the rooms are every bit as lovely. It’s swish marble bathrooms, Mediterranean styling and sea views all round. Beautiful. When you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor, head outside to the pool. Holidays are all about taking it easy, and with this in mind, Grecotel Pella Beach have created a garden geared for relaxation. From sun-dappled terraces to luscious landscaping, it’s got laid-back living written all over it. Put your shades on. Sit back. And get ready for some serious R&R. Doing nothing can sometimes take all day but if anything can drag you away from your sunbed, it’s the food. From soups and starters right down to the desserts, everything on the menu is to-die-for. And Greek nights and fish festivals give you a taste of all things local. Delicious.

A beautiful place for rest and relaxation with a lovely sandy beach. There are some good tavernas serving reasonably priced food . Dont visit if you are looking for a lively time. It suited us fine and I would reccommend it for couples.

Super Resort for Chill out and the locals have got it right. The Golden Goose can only be encouraged not priced out and blamed for the decline in the Greek economy.

Love Golden Beach. Plenty of taverna's and bars without spoiling the traditional greek atmosphere. Prefer to stay here than Thassos Town. Lovely walks, Lovely helpful people.

quiet resort just as we like it, and very friendly locals we went at a quiet time but we understand that there is more going on in the main season though it will never be like benidorm thank goodness

A nice quiet place to chill out and enjoy beautiful surroundings eat,drink +visit so many lovely scenic places either by hire car or the bus service or even the ferry to the mainland ,the beaches are wonderful and the sea was clear and warm (and clean!!!) And does not cost you a fortune once you are there
