"Lovely resort, let down by poor cleaning"

Christos Apartments are in an excellent location, only a few metres from the beach. It's a small complex with a small pool and a few sun loungers within the complex, but there are plenty of free loungers on the beach right in front of the apartments.

The apartment we were in was small and basic - beds, balcony, table and chairs, wardrobe and some drawers. The kitchen had a fridge with icebox, two electric rings, sink and some crockery and cutlery. The room had a hairdryer, and air-con was available although we didn't use it. There are no safety-deposit boxes in the block and I think the nearest were in the post office.

The apartments are a 5 minute walk from the resort centre - close enough to be very easy to get to, but not so close that you're disturbed by noise.

Cleaning of the apartments was poor. Toilet paper was provided, which is unusual in Greek apartments; usually you have to buy your own. Sheets were changed once a week and towels 2-3 times a week. Bins were emptied when the towels were changed, which isn't enough - in Greece toilet paper is put into bins, and bathroom bins should really be emptied every day. The apartment was not cleaned at all during our stay though - it had been cleaned when we arrived, it was cleaned after we left, but not at all while we were there, so the floors got sandier and the bathroom got mankier. Maintenance seemed a bit haphazard as well - we were on the top floor and the lightbulb at the top of the stairs was broken so we were going up and down stairs in the dark at night. We reported it several times and nothing was done, it just wasn't taken seriously. On the other hand, I needed to borrow a pair of pliers to repair a damaged suitcase, and they were produced almost instantly.

The water supply was a bit variable. On our first two nights it ran out altogether when we were showering - I was standing in the shower all shampooed up and dripping wet when the water went off altogether and all I could do was stand and wait for it to come back on. Over time we realised that the water could be a bit dodgy if there was a lot of demand at once, so we began not showering until after 9, which worked better. It was too hot to eat early, anyway, so it wasn't a problem.

The cleaning and the water were the only problems with these apartments. In all other respects, they were ideal - wonderful location, friendly staff, great food in the bar at reasonable prices, and "waiter" service on the loungers at the beach

the chritos apartments, are fantantasic, for a quiet holiday, excellent sea views,+right on the beach.(although there are steps to most apartments,so people with walking difficultys, make sure u ask for a ground floor room)the apartments them selves are basic, but modern+well cleaned!in my opinion perfect.

the resort of limenria,is quiet+very greek!the food is very good value+the poeple loverly.we spent most dinner times at the agali hotel, run by the loverly MARIA.(her feta cheese is the best i've ever tasted!)she has sunbeds+umbrellas on the beach, free!most of our main meals were at Kostis resterant,a little taverna near the harbour.the owner kostis,is a fantastic man+very generous!(espically with ouzo)try the lamb dishes!

this was my 5th time too limenaria,in my opinon its the best greek island,i have been too,2 weeks there feels like a month!remember to take a loaf,on the ferry on the way home,to feed the seagulls,it really is quite fun.i hope this imfo helps you.i will be booking again for next year!see u there!

We thought that Thassos was a beautiful Island, with a friendly population. Not the place for people seeking a hectic night life, which suited us fine!. Very quiet with (bearing in mind it was early season) empty beaches. Limenaria is a quiet little town and our Hosts at Christos Studios Janni and Katerina were very welcoming. The apartments were very clean and had a gorgeous view out over the Aegean, with the beach a mere 50 yards away. The Tavernas on the Sea front were all welcoming in general and special mention must be given to Thassas and Kristos at Asteria Taverna, lovely welcome excellent food with prompt friendly service. Bus service is erratic so hire car is highly recommended, roads were extraordinarily quiet.

Beaches worth visiting Alyki, Psili Ammos, Poros and if you walk out of Limenaria for about 3 miles toward Thassos town you will find a little cove with two beaches that were completely deserted for the 2 weeks we were there.
Panagia village is also well worth a visit if you like to see authentic Greek village life. Finally there is a market in Potos on Tuesday mornings that is worth a look.

So all in all a fantastic relatively undiscovered little gem. If you like to relax Go!!! before it gets taken over by the mainstream package holiday crowd.
