We would recomend this accomodation with no reservation at all. They are immaculately clean with maid service 6 times a week. Their position is very good, a 200 meter walk brings you to the resort centre. There is a quiet sand and shinglr beach 120 meters away and a shorter walk brings you to a beach area with sunbeds and parasols etc adjacent to tavernas.
The cost of drinks and snacks at the pool bar is extremely good value and the ortions are very generous. Air conditioning is available at only 7 euros a day, the lowest we have ever paid in Greece! They have a BBQ night on Sundays at only 10 euros including wine and soft drinks and a curry night on Wednesday nights for only 5 euros.
Two minor disadvantages to the accomodation are that the pool area is small, howver the pool is very clean. The second disadvantage is that the room could have a little more kitchen equipment, eg only 3 glasses in a room which could have 4 guests and no cutting board for bread.

Potos itself. Ther are plenty of tavernas and restaurants however all seem to have the same menu. Overall we did find the food quite blnd but did find two that were worth areturn visit. These were Garden Grill and Piatsa Michalis, the latter being by far the superior of all the others we tried. Giros joints are ideal for an afternoon snack. Food and drink prices are very good value, our bills for three adults ranged from 25 to 40 euros including drinks.
The people are very friendly and helpfull as could be wished for.
We hired a car for 3 days which was ample to explore the entire island and again was very reasonably priced.
The journry can feel long due to the drop down at Skiathos but the ferry crossing is a chance for the first Mythos of your holiday!

Overall an enjoyable holiday and pleasent island, but ther are other areas of Greece we would return to first.

The apartments are a good size, bedroom, bathroom and main room(bedroom/kitchen). The place was cleaned everyday and the grounds were spotless. The staff are very friendly - the friendliest I have experienced, Yannis, Nikkos, Costas being the bar/grill staff.

The resort is ok, we tried a few places to eat, none spectacular. The beach was sandy by the mainbar area but was quite dirty - loads of cigerette ends everywhere. This was quite common on every beach we visited, however I would recommend ";Golden Beach";, since the water is lovely and the sand is acutally golden. It's not as dirty as the other beaches, and they sell nice doughnuts. You'll need a hire care to reach there though, as not many buses run to that side of the island. The east side of the island is well-worth visiting for the beautiful scenery. The buses were quite nice, and weren't scary.

There is a lovely waterfall and lake in the middle of the island, which is a definate must-see.
Would most certainly go back there again, since the people were so friendly and it was the most relaxed atmosphere I've holiday'ed in.
And finally, the price of ";Mythos"; Beer is 2.20 Euros at the Maria Bar, and generally 2 euros elsewhere.

Maria studios(remember there are 2 maria studios in potos)The one kosmar uses is just past the church on the way to psili ammos.

The accomodation is ok but quite small and basic, lovely pool and all the staff are helpful. On the downside the hotel is full of serbians, slovenians and bulgarians who stop in all night partying because it is too expensive for them to go out and dont stop until exhaustion gets the better of them.

We first went to potos 5 years ago and absolutly nothing had changed apart from the lack of english and germans(the locals are getting quite worried)I tried explaining to Alex(owner of boomerang bar)that people were staying away because of the expensive prices and he said that he had kept the price of a pint of mythos at 3euro for the last 3 years.I replied that when we was last here before the euro that same pint of mythos was 400 drachma,so he had more than doubled the price and that is why people are staying away because the dont come on holiday to pay more expensive prices than they do at home.

Places to eat;I will echo everyone else and say try zooom, brilliant food(try the kokinisto)real value for money, say hi to Vassilis and his georgeous wife jelena.

places to avoid;laskarinas on the sea front,I asked for a stifado and got a lump of veal and chips which even the cats turned their noses up at.

On the plus side of there being no brits and germans the car hire companies are fighting for your custom.Go see Peter at speedy cars in limineria and tell him you have had a quote from any potos rent a car company and he will beat them.I got a fiat punto for 7 days at the begining of june for 95 euros. Its very satisfying now the tables have turned and watch a grown man cry.

I you do venture into thassos town pay a visit to cheers bar run by dave and sue,who does excellent cheap food.
